This is my very first story, please please tell me what you think! I will be adding about a chapter a day, maybe more, depending on if people like it :) Oh, and I am in the process of another story too :) Click here (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91060) to find it :)
Prologue:
Sunnyhills Boarding School is located in the most gorgeous part of Hawii. Mostly rich children go to Sunnyhills, children like Jewel Brookes. The exact opposite of most of Sunnyhills pupils would be Carla Simmons, Jewel's very best friend. Carla was an orphan until she stumbled upon Sunnyhills, and Jewel convinced Sunnyhills's owner, Mrs. Black, that she should give Carla a chance. In the beginning of this story, the school year is just starting out and 11 year old 6th grade Jewel and the rest of her 6th grade friends are ready for all the adventures of the coming year! Carla has been staying at different friends houses over the Summer, since she has no where else to go.
Main characters: Two best friends, Jewel Brookes and Carla Simmons
Main character's friends: Girls: Alyssa Benson, Ella Pleasant, Marina Samuals. Boys: David Brown, Josh Grass, Nick Waters

♥ Chapter One ♥
"Oh, I'm so glad to see you all again!" Jewel squealed as she hugged all her friends. "I've missed you guys so much over the Summer! And you all look so different!" Jewel screeched. "I know, we missed you too", Alyssa said, smiling. "Its great to be back", Marina added. "Hello!" two familiar voices called. Everyone looked up, and, popping out of a green van, were Ella and Carla. Carla had been staying with Ella so they had gotten dropped off together. After a happy reunion, the friends all trooped down to the Hall, where they would get their schedules and dorm numbers and stuff like that. "Oh, I hope we get some classes together, or that our dorms are close to each other", Ella said excitedly. When they got to the Hall, the girls met up with their guy friends, Josh, David, and Nick. They were already talking to everyone and cracking jokes, as usual. "You all look so different!" Jewel exclaimed to David, who had been her long-time secret crush, which nobody knew about. David grinned, his longish black hair swinging into his green eyes. Jewel secretly thought that his eyes looked Evergreen trees. "All right, all right, settle down now", Mrs. Black, who was standing at the front of the room, said sternly. "I've got some terrible news to deliver".
♥ Chapter 2 ♥
"Oh gosh, what could've made her say something like that?", Ella whispered nervously. "No clue", Carla whispered back. "The terrible news has to be that we're getting more homework this year", Daivd joked. "Oh come on, lets be serious", Jewel said scolding. "OK Mommy", David said in a high pitched voice. Jewel and her friends all rolled their eyes. 'The news is that one of our teachers, Mrs. White, has disapeared", Mrs Black said calmly. Mrs. White was everyones favorite teacher. "Oh no, this cant be happening", Jewel groaned. All the students faces were white. The room was filled with whispers. Rumours like "Do you think she's kidnapped?" "I bet she ran away!" "Maybe she just quit and Mrs. Black just said she's missing!" "All I know, is that we've got to find her", Carla said determindly to all her friends. "Are you sure, Car?" Jewel said slowly "'course I'm sure", Carla said back, sounding even more determined than she did before. Carla put her hand in the middle of her circle of friends "who's with me?" "Fine, I'm in", Ella said, planting her hand down on top of Carla's. Finallly everyone, even David, Nick and Josh all put their hands in. And thats where alll the trouble began
♥ Chapter 3 ♥
Jewel woke up, rubbing her eyes. She yawned and glanced at her alarm clock. "Oh, great", she groaned, "its 7 already!" She hastily dressed and took a blow dryer and about sixty different brushes and a thick coating of hair spray to her layered blonde hair. Just has she was eating her Frosted Flakes, there was a knock on the door. When Jewel looked through the peep-hole, she saw Carla. "Hey Car!" Jewel said excitedly as she flung open the door. "Come on in!" Jewel said happily, glad to have her first visitor of the new school year. "So, I was thinking", Carla began thoughtfully, "since its the first day of school, and a Monday, we wont be able to search much for Mrs. White". "Oh, that", Jewel said dismissively. "I'm serious about finding her, and if you arent, well, you dont have to help at all", Carla snapped. Jewel looked at Carla for a minute, then said hastily, "Lets get to school, forget we ever had this conversation". The two walked together to school, meeting up with Alyssa on the way. Alyssa totally sensed something was wrong between the two girls, but waited and asked Jewel about it after Carla had ran off to her locker. Jewel told Alyssa about what happened. "I think you guys might be having a fight," Alyssa said softly, "and this is just the beginning". And at the time, Jewel thought Alyssa was totally wrong, she and Carla would clear things up. But little did she know.......
♥ Chapter 4 ♥
Jewel was sitting in English class, peeling off her bright pink nail polish. I wonder if Alyssa is right, Jewel wondered. "Jewel, are you paying attention?" Mrs. Himmel, the English teacher that replaced Mrs.White, said sharply. "Yes Mrs. Himmel", Jewel said quietly as all eyes were on her. Ugh, I hate this new English teacher, Jewel thought angrily. Finally she was out of English and was standing next to Carla at their lockers. "Carla, we're not fighting still, right?" Jewel asked nervously. Carla didn't say one word. "Aw, come on Carla", Jewel moaned, "why are you still mad?" Still, not one sound from Carla. Jewel sighed and ran off to her Band class. "Mr. Clemmens, I need a new case for my reed", Jewel informed her Band teacher. Jewel was a clarinet player and was, so far, loving the instrument. Jewel made her way back to her chair, next to Samantha. When Jewel came back to her locker yet again, preparing for her Social Studies and Carla wasn't even there. Jewel asked around and finally she came to a boy she knew, Jacob, and asked him if he knew where Carla went. "Well, I kinda overheard her saying that she was really mad at someone and that she was leaving for a long while, maybe even forever. She said she was going back to where she came from", Jacob added confusedly. Jewel turned and raced off in the other direction, blindly looking around. "Oh, she just cant be going back to the orphanage!"

Jewel raced around, trying to gather all her friends to tellt hem the news, that Carla was gone. But, she only found Alyssa, Ella, and David. When they heard the news, they all just about went phsyco. "Omigosh, what are we gonna do?!?!?!?!!?" Ella wailed hysterically. "OK, lets split into groups, and try to find her", Alyssa said in what she hoped was a calm voice. "Ella, come with me, we'll tell Mrs.Black that Carla's missing and that we're going to the Orphanage to look for her", Alyssa directed. "And me and David will search the entire campus and ask around if anyone has seen her", Jewel said, regaining her poise. The four friends got into two groups and raced off. Nobody had seen Carla till David and Jewel stumbled upon Ashley Miles, who did know where Carla was. When Jewel asked if Ashley had seen her recently, Ashley replied, "Oh yes, I saw her leaving the gate of Sunnyhills. You know, the big black gate that says 'Sunnyhills Boarding School?" Ashley said casually. "Thanks a lot", David said graciously, because Jewel looked very close to fainting. "Can I help look for her?" Ashley asked excitedly, "ok, follow us", David said, glad to have another person to help them. They met up with Alyssa and Ella, who had found Nick, Josh, and Marina. "Lets go, we have a long search ahead of us!" Josh said impatiently, after they had gathered into groups. Everyone ran out of the Boarding School gates, screaming Carla's name.
♥Chapter 6♥
After hours of looking, the kids ducked into a small bakery. They ordered tea and cookies and sat down at a tale barely big enough for them. Jewel bit into her cookie and chewed slowly. "We'll find her", Marina said gently. "I just dont understand", Jewel sighed, "why ever would she want to go back to the orphanage? That would be the craziest thing Car's ever done!"
They finished their food and went back on the street. "I think we need to go to the orphanage", Ella said gravely. "I hate the orphange", Josh said, making a face. "I do too, but Ella's right, we need to go", Jewel said sadly. Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the orphanage. "Maybe we should check this out tomorrow", Ashley said nervously. "Why?" Nick asked. "Maybe its not open", Ella protested, trying to think up excuses. "No, we're going in", Jewel said firmly. Jewel rapped on the door and it slowly opened revealing...

"Wow", Carla said softly, as she sipped her strawberry tea. "I had no idea all of you would come looking for me", Carla said in bewilderment. "Well, of course, we didn't rescue you from this place just to have you come back", Jewel said. "The orphanage really improved", Carla remarked. "We've tried", Mrs.Winters, the owner, said happily. "It shows", David said politely. Mrs.Winters beamed. "Well, I've got to put the younger children to bed", Mrs.Winters said, getting up and going into the nursery. "It really is a lot better, the kids are lucky to have this place", Carla commented, looking up at the repaired ceiling. "Y-you dont want to stay here, though, right?" Alyssa asked nervously. "Its not like your a nuisance and Sunnyhills", David said quickly. "Everyone likes you", Ashley put in. "Oh, of course not! You know I wouldn't leave you guys and everyone else for the world!" Carla cried. "Group hug!" Marina squealed. Mrs.Winters burst through the room, "telephone, for Carla", Mrs.Winters announced. Carla glanced at her friends and slowly took the phone from Mrs.Winters hand- and a great big grin flashed across her face. "What is it?!!?" Nick asked eagerly. "Only the best thing in the world!" Carla cried.
Chapter 8
Jewel and Carla and all their friends were sitting in the waiting room of the airport. They kids were very nervous and they were scared. Mrs. Black was with the kids, but she would not be on the plane. That was the scariest part, being on a plane with no one else with them. “Flight 427, from Honolulu, Hawaii to Madison, Wisconsin”, a man’s voice crackled over the microphone at the front desk, next to the hall Jewel and her friends would take to the plane. “Well, this is it”, Nick said nervously. “All of us at Sunnyhills will miss you”, Ashley said tearfully. “Sorry you couldn’t go as well”, sensitive Alyssa apologized once again. “Oh, we’ll be fine”, Mrs. Black said dismissively “. “Are you sure?” Marina questioned. Mrs. Black elbowed Ashley and she nodded. “Of course”, Mrs. Black assured Marina. Hugs were exchanged all around, and Mrs. Black promised to notify Carla personally if any news about Mrs. White came up. Another quick wave goodbye, and Alyssa, Jewel, Carla, Marina, Ella, David, Josh, and Nick all trooped into the boarding hallway, tears in their eyes. They could already tell; they were going to Miss Sunnyhills and Hawaii very much.
