View Full Version : Jericho: Wednesdays on CBS
Neoteny 09-21-2006, 06:06 AM So, what did you think?
So far it's no Lost, but it's got potential. Only new series so far this year that's caught my attention.
Caterpillar AEIOU 09-21-2006, 06:10 AM AW, I was suppossed to watch it.
My husband was on that show.
In the 4th Episode, he played a dead body! There is a nuclear bomb or something.
And then, he was a guest at his own funeral, I am not kidding, it sounds pretty interesting.

Well, tonight's was only the first episode, so we haven't missed him yet!
Caterpillar AEIOU 09-21-2006, 06:21 AM Oh, Thanks
I dont watch a lot of network TV, mostly Bravo and Disney Channel.
He is in the first episode of a show called Studio 60 too.
He will be in the First Episode of ER, and an episode of Desperate Housewives, it was shoot at a County Club, but it is a big secret, he would not even tell me what is was!
Neoteny, I hope that I did not spoil it for you.

No problem. There were two nuclear bombs already in the first episode, so I'm not surprised that there would be more.

I dunno. Heroes just looks like a bad X-Men ripoff. Anybody out there remember Misfits of Science?

Heroes looks like an X-Men meets Lost kind of show.
Anyways, I didn't watch Jericho because right now I have too many other shows to get caught up on.
Here are the shows I watch in case your wondering:
LOST
Prison Break
Kyle XY
Vanished
24 (Catching Up)
Grey's Antomy (Catching Up)

You're missing the best show currently on television: The Office! Seasons one and two now on DVD (and available for download from NBC).
(Sorry, Lost fans.)

Not a big fan of comedies because there are not a whole lot of good ones out right now that interest me (Excluding The Office).
levity 09-22-2006, 11:51 PM I don't really like the office, I only liked Steve carrel in little miss sunshine (my favorite movie, but i can't exactly talk about more than the title...)
PrincessAnnO 09-23-2006, 12:00 AM I missed the first half hour of jericho and I was lost as I watched the second half. The second half didn't exactly match my high hopes for the show...I'm hoping to catch a rerun and hoping it makes more sense if you watch the whole thing...

I agree, there aren't many good TV comedies on currently.
There was Arrested Development, which ended last season, and there's The Office, and that's about it for the great ones.
I do also watch My Name Is Earl, though it's not quite on the level of the above shows.
And I still watch all the Fox Sunday night cartoons, but that's mostly just out of habit. They're not as good as they used to be.

Arrested Development was a gem with so much potential and had a classic run, but apparently the shoddy treatment broke the spirit of the creator and a couple of the original writers, as the 3rd season (which I just started watching on DVD) seems to have slipped in quality. Still one of my all time favorites though. I was slow to come around to The Office just because I was a huge fan of the original BBC version, but once I saw that they weren't just ripping off exisiting episodes and plot lines and began to blossom into their own show, I added it to my required viewing list. Earl is good, and sometimes great, but a little inconsistent. I usually try to catch it though, considering its unique premise is a welcome change to the television landscape. The FOX Sunday line-up has pretty much lost my support due to the ever-plummeting quality of The Simpsons. I think Scrubs is a pretty great show, I'd like to add that to the list of current comedies. I like the oddball antics of Tom Goes To The Mayor, but I can see how it's not for everyone. Um..what else? Curb Your Enthusiasm is a pretty fine piece of HBO programming, although I was pretty turned off by last season's finale. Okay, I guess that's it for now. I'm probably missing something, and I'll probably update later, but I guess I'm just too excited about the upcoming premiere of Three's Company: The Next Generation to concentrate on anything else.

Yes, Scrubs is still a must-see, but it's not back on the air until mid-season. Curb is also great, although last season was its weakest so far, and it's not on HBO's schedule yet this year.
I'm not familiar with Tom Goes to the Mayor. What's that, when's it on, and on what channel?
I, too, loved the original British The Office and dreaded the announcement of an American version (especially after what NBC did to Coupling), but the American The Office is great in its own right and has become a completely different show from its predecessor.
As always, I like your style, Claw. Missed you while I was away.
GraspingClaw 09-23-2006, 05:45 AM Tom Goes To The Mayor is this weird, paper-doll animated, superbly-voiced cartoon on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network, Sunday nights). It doesn't necessarily fit in with the other shows that I've mentioned, as it doesn't consistently make me laugh out loud as much as it strangely amuses and fascinates me. Bob Odenkirk (who's somewhat of a hero of mine, along with his buddy David Cross) helped produce it and does some voicework on it. Cross has guest-starred, as well as Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Sarah Silverman, and Zach Galifianakis. If any of these people have made you laugh, you'll probably appreciate the humor on the show. It's very dry and asbtract and bizarre and definitely a love it or hate it. Speaking of Adult Swim, they've had some other hits in the past with Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, and the early seasons of Sealab, but to be honest I haven't been able to keep up that well because our current cable provider inexplicably does not provide Cartoon Network.
Anywho, good to see ya back, Neo. I was wondering what it was you could have possibly done to warrant an involuntary vacation, but perhaps the past is best left in the past.
(No seriously, did you kill someone?)

I have just set my DVR.
I've loved Bob Odenkirk since The Ben Stiller Show.
Neoteny 09-26-2006, 06:54 AM Ok. I watched an episode of Tom Goes to the Mayor.
Well, it's no Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but it's along those lines.
That Adult Swim sure is weird.
levity 09-26-2006, 05:32 PM lol, Robot chickens my favorite comedy show on Adult Swim, it's so funny.
SweetAdelline 09-26-2006, 08:42 PM I can't believe everyone's forgotten the beloved children's show, Wonder Showzen. Seven and a switchblade!!
SweetChinMusic 09-26-2006, 09:14 PM I've never seen it, it looks good though!
TomorrowAlpha 09-28-2006, 02:48 AM I've always wanted to see Jericho but only my mom lets me watch it and it never comes on when I'm over there.
I like most crime shows, CSI, Numbers, Law and Order, etc.:D
levity 09-28-2006, 03:15 AM It's on in 45 minutes, woot!!
