I was just wondering what everyone thought; what ages are best for VMK?

Its pretty much good for everyone. Most older people though will overlook VMK because of the animation, rules, and the fact that its Disney, unfortanately.

its good for everyone over the age of 6-7 because of chatting, some ppl get around the dictionary and say bad things, but if it wasn't for that, it would be for everyone

eh I don't quite think ages 5-6 would quite get the game considering they are just learning how to read and write. Possibly age 7 but they still might have difficulties typing in words. Other then that VMK should be for everyone.

I bet your all going to choose Everyone, but in reality, no.
It is aimed for 8 - 14 year olds, but that doesnt mean it is apporopriate for them.
I dont want my 5 year old sister to be virtually dating some 14 year old! That, to me, isnt appropirate.
I think it would be appropriate AT THIS TIME for 10 - 15 year olds.
If taken was completely eliminated, it would go down dramatically.

I think many of the quests and mini-games would be too difficult for younger children, but there's really no good solution to this, as making the games easier would make them less fun for those of us who can do them well.

Of course, nobody of any age should be required to watch Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch in order to complete a quest task. That's just cruel.

I think I've made my point with that example by now. I'll let it drop.

Im just angry at VMK At the moment, for my For-Ever Ban. But i have done well without VMK, I was just sad i could not say goodbye to my friends...... - does lower lip thingy -

Im gonna ask VMK If they could let me on From when VMK Starts, to When it Ends. So i can give my stuff to my friends, open my rooms for Everyone, and give Teleporters to my Closest Friends, so they can go to my rooms whenever...

I think 13-16. Its suppost to be for everyone, (in my opinion) the taken, baby, and parent thing brings up the rating. I do think that it shouldn't be allowed. And with some of the language that people are using, i do think that younger ones shouldn't be seeing this.

btw Neoteny, i agree. They shouldn't have been made to watch it just to get a costume.

VMK recommends 8-14 year olds to play but of course everyone is welcomed to play, and plus everyone is a kid at heart ;)

6-12 would be good,but everyone can play as long they keep it G rated ;)

How can you say everyone with all the things people are saying?? IT should be everyone, but the fact is, some people have made it around 9-12 and older. That's what I voted.

Honestly i think the approriate ages are 9-20 i know alot of grown up's become entertained because well it is entertaining. :) But honestly this is not against anyone but i find it to be awkward to see a 30 year old playing VMK. Same thing with being a grandma/grandpa its just something un expected. I myself cant imagine my grandparents playing VMK... But anyways these are my opinions. Hopefully this thread doesnt get out of hand and become chaos..

VMK is great for everyone mostly because it's FREE!. i thik to start playing though, you need to be over the age of 8 or 9 because you need to know how to type pretty good and use good spelling or else you will get ### all the time. my twin sisters started playing when they were 9 last year in August or July and i had to help them out. theres my :twocents:

I would say for 9-12. 13 and over is too old IMO.

I'd have to go with Exoxus and say 10-15 are good ages for VMK at the moment. Truly though, everyone can play it if they want and everyone DOES play it. I think its good for ages 10+

It's for everyone really saying as it's a disney site, but I do know a lot of people on it that are 16, 17, 13, 14, 15, 11, so many different ages. I think it's appropriate for all ages 10, and above, and also it would be kind of difficult to leave your friends at a certain time because of your age, so if fun for everybody.

I think it should be for everyone, because even old (no offense to adults) people like/love Disney. As long as they know better and do stuff to make VMK a better place :) Unlike some kids who don't know better, yet.

I'd say it's from 10 and Up since of the things some people do on VMK...if bay be all together went away, and taken took a big drop, it'd be a lot more kid friendly sometimes, but on the most part it's for 7 and Up.

I like it where anybody can play...... I have had sibs that wanted to play it really bad with me.... so we let 'em join.... ages 5-8

And you played VMK when you were..14? If they didn't allow you to go back on..you wouldn't be able to see your old friends anymore! Not like after the age limit that should ban your account for eternity..right?

I started school when I was 4 and I [sorta] knew how to type. My baby cousin is 4 and he can type on the computer (he plays VMK :D) See?

Well, I'm totally happy with the progress of my Poll, i never expected this many votes from this morning to now, but i would like to say these things:

1. I always thought VMK was for everyone, and being a pre-teen myself, i still love disney and VMK.
2. The bad side of everyone getting to play, is the weirdo things that can happen if older kids can play.
3. I agree with most of you guys about the games being to hard for little kids, but it's also a problem with older kids doing 'taken' with the little ones @_@ i think that's just wrong (NOT MEANING TO RANT)
4. Finally, I don't think that VMK will be around for many more years, because I'm expecting a change in technology soon, so... YUea

Since Disney has always focused on family from the very beginning, I believe that VMK should be the same way...meaning it should be available to anyone and everyone willing to play and have a good time. I respect the values, enjoy making friends and just have a good time being surrounded by all that is Disney while I can't actually be in one of the parks. I feel very fortunate to make friends in VMK and be able to have a good time regardless of age. Sometimes people who I assume to be older than I end up younger and vice versa. Like Jiminy Cricket sings..."makes no difference who you are."

Hmm, perhaps it's merely wishful thinking that we say everyone, because with all the stuff I've heard (seen, ahem), I don't think that VMK is fit for a seven year old or whatever at this point. However, if VMK does something useful with their staff, perhaps it COULD be everyone.

I think it's mainly around 13-16, I can see if you are a bit younger but, I wouldn't want any of my younger cousins playing this game, solely because of taken and bay. be. It's awful, and I am against both, but I definitely think you have to be a bit older than 9-10 to actually keep out of those things, and fully understand the consquences that may come with your actions. I love VMK and I think it should be for everyone, but because of these things it's not, so I voted against the everyone poll.

I think it would be interesting to see some sort of graph of Fireworks scores by age group. I know we're not allowed to reveal our ages here, so that's really not something we could do, but I'm wondering which age group is best at which games.

I think it's appropriate for almost everyone - the exception is little kids under 8 with the scams and "taken" stuff. I think it is appropriate for adults - a lot of adults like Disney stuff and the Disney parks. I've seen a number of much older adults who use VMK post on other forums who love Disney and it's fun for them. They also play with their kids (and some with their grandkids). The VMK staff does a good job cutting out the bad people (adults AND kids) and having safety features as a very limited dictionary and being able to report incidents - so VMK can be a good place for everyone.

I am a young adult, about 10 years older than the target age range - but I love the Disney parks and VMK satisfies my "Disney-craving" since I don't have the money to go to the parks. I like collecting pins, costumes, doing some of the games and some of the Host events. I never really get around to decorating my rooms since I don't have the time. I talk to people sometimes in the game as I run into them, but I don't really keep friends. I like to keep to myself and most people who want to be friends seem to be trying to get something from me. I don't do any of that "taken" or other stuff because I think it's really immature, and I know most other adult users think the same thing.
