I don't get it I started to notice that some people were not on anymore and then i found out they were banned! I looked through some of their posts and found no reason to ban them can somebody enlighten me on why they banned these types of people?

I can guess some of them were banned for constantly double posting and after some warnings they continued to double post...

The reason why none of the posts you see don't seem to be worth banning someone over is because the bad posts get deleted by the moderators.

So it's not always obvious why someone gets banned from the site.

I'm confused, not to be rude, but your thread sounds ambiguous to me. Can you explain what you mean?

What I mean is that if a moderator sees that a post or thread is breaking the forum rules, they either modify it or delete it. They remove flames or any offensive behavior. They sometimes even move threads.

I can guess some of them were banned for constantly double posting and after some warnings they continued to double post...Just double posting isn't enough for a ban, unless it is relentless. In that case, a ban might only be a day to a week.

There are some who have been banned for a number of days, a number of weeks, and very few who have been banned permanently. Members get different periods of time for very many reasons.

Goldie is correct that you don't see the posts in question because the moderators involved came to the conclusion that the post was bad enough to where we had to remove it completely.

You have to realize, though, in very few cases do we ban without at least talking to the person first -- they are warned, usually several times, before we even consider a ban. One of the few exceptions is profanity; we often give an immediate one-day ban for obscene posts.

Another situation that occurs, and way too often, is outside your view. We will sometimes PM a member with a warning, and that member unleashes a flurry of angry and spiteful PMs back, often refusing to admit they broke the rule we are warning about. In that case, we will try to get them to back down and calm down. If the flame PMs become worse, we come to realize this person will never be civil on the forum and it would be best if they posted somewhere else.

I hope that better explains the situation.

If someone you expected to find on the site has been banned, please trust that there is a very good reason and that the ban was a last resort.
