For those who are interested in why 'puters do stuff like this:
Emergency Network Maintenance Window September 8th 2006 22:00 CST - Sept 9 2006 02:00 scheduled maintenance window
After thorough investigation of all our existing network devices, configurations entries and IOS software versions Cisco Systems has asked that we replicate the error that affected our second data center location (LT-DFW02 - Databank).
Replicating this error on site will allow Cisco engineers and our network team to find the true cause of the problems we experienced several weeks ago. In order to accomplish this there will be possible network related issues during the maintenance window. Clients hosted in the following network ranges will possibly experience packet loss, increased latency or temporary interruption of service.
This has the possibility of affecting hosts in the following ranges 72.232.176.0 -> 72.232.230.0. If your host(s) IP's are not in this range your servers WILL NOT be affected. These ranges are only routed to our second location and all hosts located in that data center are likely to be affected. All hosts located in the Savvis IDC WILL NOT be affected by this work.
Their will be a team of Cisco Engineers on site running active diagnostics during this reproduction. These results will be analyzed for source causes and devices may be replaced if they are found faulty. Their is a full rollback plan in place to ensure that this maintenance window does not exceed the time frame listed.
Thank you,

Me, I don't believe it. 'puters run on Voodoo. They probably just had to change the chicken hanging over the server.
