Arg, I didn't even realize that I made it the same title that I would for a real VMK newsletter. Oops.
Please note this is the rough version of this post. I'll revise later, but my brace is really bugging me right now.
The biggest and best newsletter is finally here! It’s the VMK News newsletter, packed with information about VMK!
This newsletter will contain the following:
-Official VMK Newsletter and Room Awards
-Staff interviews, different from the ones by VMK
-Credit making tips and guides
-Mini-game tips
-What’s Hot
-Ask Bet!
-Fan Art
-Editorial (you can ask the news crew questions)
-And (probably) more!!
This will be a newsletter located on a webpage. You can either click to get to certain areas or read the whole thing straight through.
The goal is for this to be released weekly. Obviously I will need help writing this.
I am looking for a few “reporters” to help write sections for the newsletter.
I need about two people for each section except Ask Bet, official newsletter, and the fan art.
If you’d like to apply for a position, make sure you meet and follow all of the guidelines for General Rules and all guidelines to a specific area.
Key:
- MUST have it
+ Not required, but will help you be more likely to get the position over someone else.
General Rules
-NO people that use chat speak will be accepted. Sorry, but this newsletter should be easy for everyone to read. If you can’t put forth the effort to type two extra keys per word, then I can’t trust you to put forth the effort to write an article.
-Apply for a position relevant to your knowledge and skills. Don’t apply for mini game tips if you can’t play any of them.
-If two people have already applied, don’t worry, I may accept yours over theirs or may decide to have three reporters instead of only two.
-If you’re a procrastinator, don’t bother. I will have deadlines, and you will meet them.

Staff Interviews
I am only going to accept Community Leaders for this position. Sorry, but that’s how it goes. It’s not favoritism; I need CLs because they will have more access to staff than someone who does not.
Qualifications:
-Is on often enough to ask a staff various questions
-MUST have staff as friends for easy contact.
-Be able to contact staff who are not on the friends list by checking to see if a staff room is open, etc.
+Have 3+ staff on the list
Notes: I may accept more than two people for this position as I will need many staff members to be interviewed.
To apply, write 5 questions that you might ask a staff.
Credit making tips and guides
Each week you’ll have a few tips or a whole guide on how to make credits quickly and easily.
-You must be able to follow your own tips and verify they work.
+Be good at mini games so that you can write guides for credit
To apply, write either 5 tips or a 100 word guide for making credit easily. Remember I will be more likely to pick a person who puts more effort into it than someone else. (A guide = more effort)
Mini-Game Tips
You’ll write a few tips or a guide to a different mini-game each week.
-Be good at a mini game, so that you can write tips/guides for it.
++Have good writing skills in order to accurately describe the game and strategy you are explaining.
To apply: Write either 5 tips or a 100 word guide for one mini-game.
Also please include which games you are good at.
What’s Hot
You’ll find information on the hottest games, items, rooms, etc. and write an article about that for the newsletter.
Anyone can apply to this. Information should accurately describe the feelings of the public. Information can be achieved by asking random people in VMK or by polls on the forums. Do not collect a biased sample Ex. Don’t walk into a falling chairs room and ask what their favorite player-created game is.
To apply, post a poll you might ask some people in order to find out “what’s hot” and write a 100 word article discussing pretend “data” you made up from the poll.
Graphics Designers
I will probably need some people to do graphics for me, as my skills are limited. I’ll contact you whenever I need one done.
-Must have some sort of advanced graphics program
-Must be able to make semi-professional looking graphics that fit well with the page
To apply: post an example of any work. Also, please include which program(s) you use and anything else like animated, etc.
Fan Art
If you have fan art, you should PM it to CL_Maribeth and let her know it’s fan art for the newsletter. Fan art can be about anything VMK related.
Editorial
You can submit questions for the News crew to answer. To submit your question, PM it to CL_Maribeth with the question and who it is for. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN QUESTIONS UNTIL AFTER THE FIRST NEWSLETTER IS RELEASED!!!!
