View Full Version : The Crystal Palace - I Need Some Help!
Oranges 08-31-2006, 10:48 PM Hiya folks,
Out of every restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, I have never been to The Crystal Palace. For our Labor Day vacation, we decided to eat at The Crystal Palace. Since I've never been there (and hopefully someone here has), I was wondering what kind of breakfast foods they have to offer. I also understand it's a character breakfast, but do you have to pay separately for that experience? (I've had a character meal before, but I was wondering if it was like the Cinderella Dining experience in Cinderella Castle, where you had to pay extra...) Also, how is the food overall? Good? Bad?
Thanks,
~Oranges
Dudejoejoe 08-31-2006, 10:53 PM I want there on are first trip To WDW. I Remember Mickey And Minnie And Donal where there. I don't think you have to pay extra. They have Mickey Mouse Waffles, Eggs, Juice, French Toast, Ceral. And other things. I had fun there. (Although i was 5 a easy to etertain) Hope this helps!
Tinklover 08-31-2006, 10:54 PM I think it is like a buffet with bacon, sausage, waffles, and stuff like that.
GreenGirlJess 08-31-2006, 10:55 PM Well, I haven't been there, but I think in order to do a Character breakfast, you need to put in a resevervation (Well, seeing your guide, I bet you know that!), and I don't think it costs extra. But, they probably have normal breakfast things like the other places do.
I went to one (A Character breakfast) and it was a buffet. The character part was rather lame, but that was when I was 10 I think, and I thought it was lame.

Yes, we made reservations already. We ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern for my birthday and the characters came with the meal. Hopefully the Crystal Palace will be the same way.
So it's a buffet? I thought it was Family Style, like Liberty Tree.

Tinklover 08-31-2006, 10:58 PM Lat time I went there it was buffet it may not be. I have not eaten there in a while.
Dudejoejoe 08-31-2006, 11:08 PM I Remember it as Buffet could be wrong though.

The Crystal Palace is one of the most fun places to eat. Yes, they serve a very nice buffet. No, you don't pay extra for character interaction like someone mentioned. Pooh and friends are there and they are totally fun!
You will have a great time and won't want to miss it year after year.
Have fun and enjoy your trip. I wish I was going. But Labor Day the parks will be packed....

Thanks! I'm having great fun! But on the complete contrary, I've never seen the parks so empty. The wait for Splash Mountain was 5 minutes all day, and Space Mountain never exceeded 20 minutes.
Crystal Palace was amazing. The food was sheerly superb. There was so much variety for only $20.00 - numerous fruits, breads, pastries, bacon, sausages, pancakes, puffed french toast (which was TO DIE FOR, by the way ), tons of juices and a whole assortment of other things. I know that we will definitely be going back soon. Possibly for dinner tomorrow, lol. :D

WDWTigger72 09-03-2006, 02:41 AM The Crystal Palace is one of my favorite Magic Kingdom places to visit, and especially the character breakfast since its all Winnie The Pooh characters. The restaurant itself is very very very clean looking and really nice inside, especially since they renovated it not too long ago. Hopefully, You where able to take some pictures around the topiary center piece, and typically you get to see all the Winnie The Pooh characters at least once or twice. Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, Tigger and Winnie The Pooh. The last time I was there I even happened to take a picture with our hostess who was just incredible. The buffet is pretty good and they have two seperate sides with the same food so it keeps the lines down. If your there longer I recommend going back with a very early reservation (i.e. The first reservation available) and you can see the park completely empty. Its a great opportunity if you ever wanted to take a picture of the kids in front of the castle without having all other park customers there. Its a great place and glad you decided to go...I highly recommend "The Crystal Palace" to anybody visiting Magic Kingdom...
Yes, The puffed french toast is absolutey phenomenal...You can actually get similar puffed french toast at Disney's Port Orleans. If you happened to go back make sure you ask for the recipe they usually have them available on little index type cards which you can take home but you have to ask for them. Actually, If there is a special plate at any restaurant you like make sure you ask for the recipe as they typically have them...So don't be she to ask...
