I loved The Tail Of Emily Windsnap and Emily Windsnap And The Monster From The Deep So I thought I would make a story about how her older sister found out she was a mermaid. If you never read these 2 books at least read the first one. It was one of my all time favorite books. Some words are hard but the author descripes things like I am dreaming it. She inspires me so I want to write this.

Jasmine woke up. She lived on a big boat for her whole life. She never knew why she did not have a house. She always wondered where her father was. What happened to him. Today was the first day of school. She got up and went to her closet and picked out an outfit and got dressed. Then she went to her mirror and brushed her long straight blonde hair. She had big blue eyes and deep as the ocean blue. Around her neck was a gleaming silver seashell locket which even though she tired she could never open it. She always wondered what was inside of the necklace. She never took it off since as long as she could remember. Her mom said that her dad gave it to her when she was 3 years old on her birthday. That is why she always wears it so her dad is always with the family. She walked out of her room and went down the stairs to the big kitchen where her mom was there sipping coffee and reading the newspaper.
" Good morning mom. " Jasmine said getting some bread and sitting down.
" Good morning honey. " Her mom said.
" I want to try out for swimming lessons today! " Jasmine said to her mom.
" Jasmine I said this every year no swimming lessons! " Her mom yelled.
" Why mom? I wont drown I will be fine! " Jasmine argued.
" Well this is hard to explain but... " Jasmine's mom stummbled.
" But what? Why cant I go in water? " Jasmine demanded.
" Well... because your a mermaid.. See you dad was one as well and he is in prison for marrying a regular human which is me. "
" What? No! I cant believe you never told me mom! " Jasmine yelled and started to cry.
" Because.. Now was the right time. You were to young then. " Her mom said.
" I have to go to school mom thanks for ruining my day! " Jasmine said getting her bookbag and slamming the door on her way out.

School was even worse for Jasmine. The little miss perfect Sharpay was there owning the school as usual.
" So how was your summer miney winey? " Sharpay asked Jasmine. That is what she always called her.
" Oh it was good I was away from you! " Jasmine said and Sharpay rolled her eyes and walked away.
Jasmine walked down the long narrow hallways to get to her locker. She opened it and got her first binder for Social Studies. She shut her locker and went to her class. She had a seat and opened her binder to where she takes notes. She put her purse with her cell phone next to the binder and the teacher came in.
" Good morning class. " Mr.Daniel said to the class. " Please open up your notes and lets get ready to take some more! Please turn your social study books to page 573. " Mr.Daniel instucted. Jasmine did what she was told and waited for further instructions.
" Alright. I will read todays lesson. " Mr.Daniel said as he got out his book and got to the page.
" Sailors back in the old days thought that they saw mermaids. But they were really manates. " He stopped reading from the book. " Everyone knows mermaids are not real right? " Mr.Daniels asked. Everyone said " No way! " And laughed. Jasmine got as red as an apple and asked to go to the bathroom and she left the classroom crying. She locked herself in a stall balling her eyes out.

A half hour went by and her best friend Vanessa came and knocked on her stall.
" What is going on in there? Bad breakfast? " Vanessa asked but tried to hold back her laughing.
" No! I am afraid to tell you why.. " Jasmine said sobbing and breathing heavy.
" Jasmine Windsnap! I have known you forever you can tell me anything! " Vanessa yelled.
" Sorry but it sounds really weird... " Jasmine said getting out of the stall and going to whisper something in Vanessa's ear.
" My mom says I am a mermaid. When I go in water I am and when I get off I am human again. " Jasmine whispered.
Vanessa's big blue eyes just like Jasmine got really big and wide.
" Jasmine! Me Too! Oh my gosh! I never told you! " Vanessa said hugging her.
" Oh my... lets meet at the ocean next between our two boats tonight at 2:00 am. and we can see for ourselves. I never tried it did you? " Jasmine said and asked Vanessa.
" No I never did I really wanted too tho. Lets get back to class! " Vanessa said as they went back to class.

Jasmine's alarm clock went off and Jasmine set it off. She got out of bed and got on her bathing suit. She went outside on the beach and saw Vanessa and they joined together.
" Ready? " Jasmine asked.
" Ready! " Vanessa said.
They hold hands and jumped into the ocean and they felt a tingling feeling going up their legs.
" Oh my gosh! " They both whispered in amazment. They gashed down at their fins. Jasmine's was long,slimmy and shiney purple. It had a star on the bottom with siliver sparkles all over the tail. Vanessa's was the same but with a heart and it was pink.
" Oh my gosh! Do you think we are cousins or something? We have the same hair,eyes,skin color and tails! " Jasmine asked enthoeasticly.
" We may be! This is so stellar! " Vanessa said.
Jasmine was really scared in her mind. Questions were whirling around like:
" What if I never turn back to a human? What if I never see my mom again? "
She finally said to Vanessa,
" I dont think we should go swim. Our moms might wonder why our hair and our bathing suits are wet. " Jasmine said without showing her expresson
