I just felt like posting this..

Right now, I was just taking my regular trip to the Haunted Mansion Lobby to go get my daily credits. I went AFK for a bit, and when I came back, a new member dressed in pink had come up to me and asked me a question. First she asked, "Hello, can you help me?" I replied, "Of course! What do you need help with?" She first asked why she didn't get her title. I told her. Then she started asking more questions, and I answered them to the best of my ability. After that, I volunteered to go give her a tour. She and I are friends now. She went off on her own after that, and messaged me a few times when she needed help.

I don't know why, but I just felt like sharing that. I just felt good for helping somebody around..

Anybody else have a story to share?

That's 10 Points :)

Sadly, most VMK Players wouldn't do such a thing.
You are one of the rare players :)

Yup, I've done that before. :) Let me enlighten you with my story, ya'll. ( I've always want to say that! :D )

Well, I came to the VMK Esplanade for a little chitter-chatter with the new players swarming in. I asked a girl if she needed any help with VMK, and she said yes. Her question was, " How can you get credits? " I simply said you can play games and visit NPCs. After my explanation, we went off to a game of Pirates. We had a blast that night!

After that night, I never saw any sight of her again. A few weeks later, I checked on my friend list, since she was my friend, and viewed her signature.

" Sorry boys! I already have my king. :) "

Yeah, I was pretty upset. But whatever. The good thing is that I helped.

Exactly the same goes for me. A couple guests approached me and asked if I can give a tour since my sig said: Need help? Just ask! Are you new? I'll help you get started.:) So I pretty much give them step by step directions on almost every aspect of the game. We are now friends also.;)

P.S. When helping a new player, make sure to explain what taken is. Explain to them that it is a bad thing and VMK does not highly approve of it. Hopefully, this will lower down the taken community a bit.

Thankies people! ^_^

Proud of you, Ru Ru.
And you're right. You did what YOU could. You helped her, and what she did after that.... well that was her on her own.
And sadly, a lot of players wouldn't walk up to a random person and ask if they needed any help at all.

Same to you to, smrtfriendship!
And hey, my signature says, "Need help? Just ask!" And it was nice of you to help them around to. I'll keep the taken thing in mind next time I help somebody out!

Random thought: There should be a new post added to VMK; VMK helpers or something. And the other staff members should keep an eye on them to make sure they didn't just apply to get the badge; they should actually be doing something. But that was just a random thought. People can still help without having any sort of badge! ^_^

That's great! It's good to hear that people help new players like this. I've personally never gotten the chance, but I don't have something in my signature that says "Ask me for help!". Now that I think about it, I don't have anything in my signature. Probably should change that...

:) Glad you're thinking of doing that, Xenigma!

One Time I was at the Espalande and I wanted to help someone, so I saw a new person and I asked her if she needed help, so she said yes. I told her about places and played some games. I also told her about aby be and taken that they're bad. She said she liked Shruken Ned's. but a week later, she delete me :(. But I still like to help out new people.

ive done stuff like that, and often give new guests free stuff. i feel so bad, and remembered how poor i was when i first started.. so i give them free, unless they just go trade me asking for free, or say give me free now!! (this happened to me twice, ppl demanding free) i love to help out to ppl, and to welcome them to vmk!

When I was a month-old VMKer, I helped a guest who was panicked that his name hadn't showed up yet. I told him about the name waiting, and I told him how to get credits. I felt great. :) I also like to help people with quests and stuff like that. Even two days ago I had a newbie playing against me in Haunted Mansion, and I helped her out because she didn't know what to do.

oh, that's so great to help her. ;)

i think i'll share 1 (:D) of my storys similiar to that..

i was in the haunted mansion lobby a while ago (i'm not sure how long) and before i was about to play a game, when a girl came up to me and asked me how i got my pins.. I said, i got a few of them from playing games, some from quests in vmk, and some from quests you can do at DLR or WDW. then i said, you can also get some by NPC's.

Her first question was, what are NPC's? i told her, that they were characters all around vmk, and you can click on them once a day for credits. ;) She was like.. Wooahh!! could you show me them?? So i went to every place they were at, and showed her were they were, and i also said that, you get 40 credits the first time you click on them, but every other time only 20 credits. Then she asked me what games you have to play, and how you get those pins.. I told her about the fireworks and the Pirates of the Caribbean, and how you could get spooky Magic (this was before they re-did pirates) and how high of a score you have to get for fireworks..

I told her so much more, but i don't have time to post it all sorry, i hope you like what else i did tho! ;)

I helped a new player once, they asked how to get credits, and I lead them to the pirate game, she said she wanted to play by herself, see if she could without me, and so I said, ok, Im going to log off, thats ok with you right? She said yes and I told her one last thing:

Never give out personal information, The Game's Staff may ban you from the game.

Then, the next day I log on and get this message, it said:

Thank You for helping a new player and reminding them not to give out personal information.

I think it had more, but thats all i remember.

i had the same experience today :)

i decided to go to main street and meet some of the new players.. every once in a while i feel like doing so. its nice to feel welcome when you are new, and welcoming other people is fun too ;)

.. i walked around and told players not to be afraid to ask me questions.. if they needed help, that's what i was there for!
.. i was actually kind of giving tutorials! lol
( try clicking the heart button and making yourself wave... haha)

good job! its nice to know that there are some players that are willing to help!

It's good to read stories of people being nice, polite and helping others. I wish I would have seen you all today (there were a few not so nice people in the trade rooms today, oh well). Keep up the good work.

I have a story almost exactly like that :)

This was around the Big Halloween VMK Celebration thingy last year.

I went to the street party to collect my credits and there was this guest who needed some help and questions answered. I answered all of her questions and told her a little bit about VMK. We became friends and she became a very notable and kind VMK player :) during the costume sales in the emporium i would buy her the princess dresses off of my girl account and told her how to play fireworks. we went off to try out fireworks and she was a master at her very first game :) this person is one of my best f riends and her name is Tinkerfanbrianna
