Alright. I know that my avvie says that I have a stitch hat- which I used to- but I just traded it.
When I had my Stitch Hat, it seemed as if I was the most popular person to be around. Every room I went into, there was my friends. There was the 11 friend requests. There was the people wanting my hat. Then I decided that me and Stitch had to be apart. I couldn't handle being wiped dry of everything I owned, all for one hat. So I traded him. I changed my signature, and it was all over with.
So then I went into my friend's room. I was expecting my usual 11 friend requests. but there were none. I said hi to my friend, she didn't answer me, and then finally said hi. Then she boot me. I was stunned. We had been friends for at least 2 months, as long as I had my stitch hat. Then it came to me. The only reason people liked me was because of my hat. A Virtual, non-living, hat. Then I had an idea.
My friend was trading a stitch hat, as well. I told her to take a certain offer, an offer she can't refuse. She took it. I told her to go into a room with lots of her friends. Guess what they did? They boot her, and then deleted her. I told her what happened to me, and we understood eachother. We have been very close friends ever since, even over a virtual game.
One after another, my friends traded their flips, infernos, and stitch hats, and their friends left their list. One by one, they dissapeared.
So I guess what I am trying to ask here is, what is it about those certain items that make you so popular? Do people expect you to give them the items, or what? I will probably never get a stitch hat ever again, because I think that you can't ever find your true friends. What do you think?

Oh, and thanks to the people who stayed on my list, even though I traded my hat.

Wow. That's strong. I'm sorry for you. But If I was your friend I would still be right on that list. :)

I don't really see you on vmk but if I was your friend I would stay on your list just cause well friends are meant to have a good time with. I hate it how people feel popularity is based on ownership of items. That bugs the spadoodle out of me.

I think the sight of rare vaulable items just lures people in, much like when people see VMK staff members .. People would throw themselves off a cliff (literally) to get onto a staff members friends list, yet why would they want to if they don't even know who they are? It's because staff have power and because you had rare items it works the same - You were rich and so people wanted to get close to you so that they could just be with you for the items.

But I don't like people who only want to be friends for items or status. I like to be friends with people for who they are. :)

It is so silly, just because you have/had rare stuff, does that make you a better person?

Its so stupid! I want , and im sure everyone else wants, to be liked for who they are and not the stuff they have.

I have rare ok, i dont care, i was lucky to get it, but people always want to be my friend, but yet they will say no to someone in the same room, just because they dont have rare.
Its so silly! I often walked around without my stitch hat,inferno, and whatever else.
I went into friends room, and they were like "omg miss your poor!"
I was like, "was i ever rich?" Im poor, yea of stuff but not my personality.

I have 2 great friends the first 1 I helped him get quest stuff and room codes. Now he has a stitch hat and he can't thank me enough. The other 1 is a person who has lots of stuff I don't but we love to talk. But people wanting my friends ( 1st ) stitch hat came in between us and he has 2 friend who have got bling and more have been well taking are friendship away. It ***** when your REAL friend has a stit ch hat and his so called friends say they are closer!!

I don't see what the problem is with people. They only want to be your friend if they think they'll get something out of it. If you have Stitch, they'll ask to be your friend just so they can say, "I have a friend who has a Stitch hat!" I've noticed that I'm more popular when I'm wearing my crown; even though my signature says "Never trading any hat that I'm wearing!" I get an average of 4 trade requests asking FOR MY CROWN in every room. Also, I get an average of one scam attempt per day, which is really sad.

I have to agree with you Minnie. Ever since I got my Stitch Hat along with my Inferno, people always want to be my friend and say "hi JustAnotherRegret" even though they don't even know me. It's irritating. Truth of the matter is that some VMK players look up to others who have rare, rather than for who they are.

I would never delete you off my list, even if you had nothing. You're a nice person and a great friend, and I respect that. (:

Same with me just some ppl i dont know as well so my good friends and most of them are still with me. My friend SuperInfernoBoy and I are great friends because we like each others personality and not each others stuff. Lots of you might have seen him but you probably dont really know what he is like, he is kind, fair to everyone, and always likes to hang out. He is an awesome person to be friends with.

Wow i think i see this a lot on my case ppl just follow me a lot and sometimes want me to be his friends bc they know i some times give free to my friends and some times i trade way cheap for rare...also i think i will test this situation...i will make me poor to see who will be real friends.. and soory but now is time to know something!@

Friends are persons tht always be there for u in the bad situations and the good situations so this mean u have save time and future problems bc now u know who really are ur friends.

I am his friend because he is nice, funny, and cool to be around. I think friends should be friend for the person, not there stuff. It is sort of like, if people are friends with you in real life. If you are rich, your popular. If your not rich, your not popular. It is a terrible fate, and I am sorry it happened to you.

Yeah, goticdragon is cool. We did one trade and I was so impressed with how kind he was and how fair he was that I asked him to be a friend even though I didn't expect him to accept. He did, and he always greets me nicely when I enter his trade room, even though I'm not rich at all. People like that make me happy. :)

I know what you mean. It seems that more and more people are judging people based on what they have instead of on their personality.

I mean, I know a LOT of people who treat guests unfairly because they don't have much rare seeing as how they just started out. As I've encountered guests, I have found that a lot of them are very sweet and I have had plenty of guest friends who have become my best friends over a few months.

And then people judge you based on your title :/ I mean, I've gotten a lot of friend requests just because people want to be friends with a community leader, and they ADMIT that they only want me to be on their list for that reason. They don't even talk to me first, they just request away.

Can't people just base their friendships on personality, not on items or titles or looks? I mean, the world and VMK would be a much happier place that way.

:O Left out meh :Tongue: Anyway, Regret, Sometimes if I saw the person before (even if they didn't notice me -.-) I'll still say hi to be friendly. True there are the people who say, "Hiya!" And try to be friendly all leading up to.. "Is your stitch/inferno for trade?" Lol, 1 time someone tried that on me. They were like, "Hi Moomalademuffin!" So I was, "Hi, I dont know you and my pants aren't for trade." She was like "Oh" Then she booted me -.-

I wonder what would happen if i say i traded my inferno but didn't i just wasn't wearing it maybe i SHOULD do that so that i can tell my true friends from my inferno friends... (Inferno friends=bad friends)

Oh tom thats so true! i cant believe how ppl want to be friends just for the stuff u have im sure i have must on my list bc they are true friends and im proud of have this person around me like tom said help sure count on me! we will have fun silly moments bad moments and much more we together make what a true friend is i hope more like awesometom are around on vmk im sure i cant name more ppl but if they read u also are good friend :) but of course we always have this new friends in this past weeks and found out that just itnerest on what u have not for what u are... :( sad history!
