I suggest making a Rumors forum to stop threads in VMK Players Disccusion,VMK Events,etc.

Please give examples of what you are talking about so that we could better consider your proposition.

kewl idea, a way for pplto say stuff that they heard, but can't confirm, so ppl can't get confused by someone who spread a rumor but doesn't say it a rumor.

Such as, say someone heard that Magic Carpet will come out tomorrow, but they don't know if it's true. They can post it there.

Here's a rumor. The haunted mansion will play the theme song for halloween and Jack Skellington decorations from last year will be back up

Yeah, there should slso be a place for rumors that don't have to do with vmk. Like the new pirates movie rumors, new disney ride rumors, what will be in the next Harry Potter book, etcetara.

I think that is a great idea.

Now that's just getting excessive. Look at the Disney Channel Thing - do we really need THAT many Forums?? If one IS made, please don't clutter it up with stuff.

I have to admit I hate these sorts of rumors. Speculating about what "might" come out leads to one of two things:

1. ruining the secret and surprise

or

2. people complaining that what they "heard" was going to happen never did.

We do have a section called Disney Gossip where you can post stuff you hear about DISNEY related things.

Right now no such section exists with regard to VMK obviously. In the past we have always tried to get rid of the rumors simply because they do nothing more than stir the pot (example: Halloween's "possible" slide competition for which we've already had an argument over a team name...for a competition that doesn't even exist....).

I'm sure you can see my point, to this point, almost all rumors have done nothing good. I'm not the person who makes the final decision, but I just know that many of us mods delete or remove posts that seem to be rumors as they are often presented as "I heard ______ say we are going to have _______" as opposed to a "rumor".

Maybe adding a sub-forum to "Secrets of the VMK" would work, since it's sort of a secret?

I think a forum called
"Myth-Busters" would work.

I like this idea. I enjoy reading rumors; they're fun as long as you don't get all bent out of shape when you find out that's all they ever were! :)

great idea. this would be a perfect place for things like the halloween competion. it would be perfect and it sould have a place like spoilers and people had to sign up with it.

yeah, that would be nice, because we allways have brand new threads about the same thing. So if something new came out, we can post it and don't worry about the same thing over and over again. Great idea!

Except the we mods try to merge all those posts rather quickly, in case you haven't noticed ;)

everybody needs some rumors. Some may turn out in fact true

Well with this forum we may not have the false alarms such as Tron is Ready Tron is Ready and other rumours that seem big but turnfalse. I agree rumors can get annoying but I agree with shcmoofy hat a suborum could be nice for it in the secrets.

I can't imagine there being any source of information available to posters that would be sufficiently reliable to warrant a forum for such information.

Disney is quite strict about internal security, and I know of some people who have lost their jobs for discussing things with outsiders.

Other than internal sources, the only source of rumors would be the poster's imagination. We already have a Stories forum for that sort of thing.
