I can't believe this :( First off they don't even put it in the news letter like they said they would, and of course... they accept some and not others. Well... good luck to all of you who got through!

Calm down people! If your dream is to up your status in a game, or if you spend every waking moment refreshing your inbox waiting for a reply from VMK, you clearly need to get off the computer and read a book or something. Yes, they are not taking applications anymore, and no, VMK is not being mean. How would you like to be bombarded with hundreds of applications? Yea, I don't think they like it either. And if you're using 'Contact Us' to complain about this, then I don't think you should be a CL in the first place, because it seems like you just want to be friends with staff, no offense. I don't think anyone is this eager to answer questions. You don't need a badge or CL_ in front of your name to help.

I don't think that the staff wanted this to be anncounced publicly, because then they get flooded with applications. I sent my question answers in a few days ago.

i got the questions yesterday...hmm...does anyone know how many cl leaders are still here?like, the ones that got accpeted the first time?maybe they stopped it because it'd be harder for them to pick, because at least 50% or more of vmk want to be a cl...and most of people on vmk forums want to be a cl...so, idk my opinion..and if you're one of those people right now who are saying "staff are being mean". you dont deserve to be a leader.staff want trustworthy people that can help new people and have new people 'follow' in their footsteps.it's disrespect and staff dislike that.(again my opinion)

Check your preferences on your e-mail and see if vmkmailman@vmk.com is in the blocked emails list. f you find it in the scroll box, delete it

what made me alittle upset was that staff kept telling us to look in the homepage or newsletter for information on when cl_ applications would be open.. yet for the however long it was open for there was nothing to notify us with.. I had no idea until it was to late because I was out of the house almost all of this week and home very late.. therefore I had no idea.

Ok, i sent my CL application in during Winter Break (like to days after Christmas or a few days after Christmas) and i answered the questions and i still have not gotten a reply on if i made it to be a CL or not..and so now i'm just waiting..and waiting :)

Yes it does give you a chance. People that got in were dedicated to being a CL and probably checked to see if they are accepting everyday. Like me for example. I just took a chance and they sent me the questions.

I first applied in November and got the questions within an hour, filled them out and then I just waited and waited... Then I sent another one in on Friday and I have gotten no questions :(

Some of us may be very dedicated to vmk, but dedicated to other things as well.. such as band.. cough.. me. I was at band almost all week i had no idea there were CL_ applications out. Plus, I dont want to bombard vmk with my cl_ applications.. they told me to keep checking the homepage/newsletter, and i figured if that is what they said then that is what i would do instead of sending in a cl_ application every single day.

I just applied and with-in 10 minutes they said that they weren't accepting. This is dumb...

Well, it depends when you sent an application in. I applied early on Sunday morning, and i got questions a few days later (oddly enough, it ususally takes an hour).

Have you gotten banned or just joined? If so, they won't accept your application and just say they aren't. But, if you're CL-material, they might send you the questions. I got the newsletter excuse.

Most people enter a couple paragraphs for an application, but you really don't need to do that. The first time i applied, i wrote a couple sentences, and got questions. The second time, i wrote a couple sentences, and got questions. The applications don't have to be that long.
But, i suppose it may help your overall chance to become a CL, now that i think about it. Heh.

My application for the CL_ was not very long. IT was maybe about as big as a short paragraph. The questions were sent a little bit later, but for that phase my answers were very long and descriptive. Each answer was a paragraph or more.

Same here.. but my first application was long. Maybe they are accepting by they are rasing the standards. So they might tell you we are not accepting probably because they dont want to say we didnt like your application. Just a thought.

If you sent this in a today and got this or a couple days ago this means they are not accepting applications at the moment. The application process does not mean the other people that already got theres sent in and answered the questions. Like I sent mine in almost a week ago with my questions answered. This does not mean they are not going to accept any more leaders they just mean APPLICATIONS.

Don't worry. You're not alone, that is what I did. I asked HOST_Hula if she had an estimate about when I'd get a reply, and she only said to be patient..But, still, how long is that going to be? lol

I got an email before I logged into VMK. I read it at like seven in the morning and was so mad VMK didn't open till ten. If they DON'T make you a leader I heard they dont contact you. You wait a year and then figure out you weren't accepted.


Think about it this way.

Say x people applied back in December when they opened again. I sent in an application. I gave up hope about two months later. Got an email on the first day of spring. I was accepted.

Now imagine when they open them again officially and announce it.
x amount of people december. xxx amount of people applying right NOW. xxxxx amount of people applying when offcially announced.

When is spring? March 22 this year. So I applied on December fourth.. for math reasons on December 2 (;)) so about 3 months and 20 days which is close enough to four months. So I'm guessing closer to eight months instead of the six I've been saying.

It could be closer to five for all I know if they have more secratarial staff (staff that are "behind the scenes" and mostly answer Contact Us, like VMK_Nimue and VMK_Matt and VMK_Shorty) say they have 20 people versus ten maybe it will go faster. I have no idea. I also have no idea how many people they have/had working there, keep in mind.

I sent answers in like 2 weeks ago (not sure exact date) but still no reply :rolleyes: But i understand how busy staff is.

Remember: Patience is a big key for being a leader, because you will/might need much of in when helping other players. In this case please be npatinet and wait for them to respond, and do not go around asking staff when you will get a reply.

Other than that again please read over the e-mail that mail of you are getting that states this:

did you send it in near Christmas or near the beginning of December, when they opened applications again? If you sent it in closer to Christmas you should probably receive an answer pretty soon.

Another idea. Some people sent in multiple applications and got the questions multiple times. They don't realize that they are making themselves wait longer. That's just another application they have to wade through before they accept you.

Or perhaps they are not accepting anyone who sends in multiple ones because it shows impatience. ;)

You WANT to be 1,but doesn't being a cl_ require patient's in many situations? If you can't even have the patience to wait it out, but instead just complain.. how can you expect to be a good rolemodel to others which a CL_ really is.. isn't it?

It's not the same thing. They are not accepting any new applications which means from then on people that didnt apply can't. There are many applications still being gone through that applied before they werent accepting a few days after. Like me for instance.. I applied before they said: "We arent accpeting any new applications" therefore they have my application already and my answers to questions that is not a new application. Therefore they can still be accpeting leaders :)

Aha. Maybe they're opening applications to say 50 people at a time. They close them when the limit has been reached. Sort them. Open them again. Completely random, fair, and yet.. not overwhelming. Clever plan. If that's even what they're doing.

It does not always take months and months ... Haven't you read some peoples stories on here? After only a few days or a week they are a CL .. :P So it's just the unlucky ones who wait months on end.
