With the 50th Anniversary Celebration coming to a close, Disney has a whole new celebration lined up and ready. It's called "Million Years Of Dreams". With the celebration will come the new attraction "Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage" and introducing a night-time version of Space Mountain that has yet to be named. The new night-time version of Space Mountain is all ready to go and all they have to do is flip a switch. It will include light rings and all sorts of light effects. Other information about the new celebration is unkown at the time besides redecorating the park and innoventions new makeover. (rumors are that they might bring back the Segway Test Drive, but of course it's unconfirmed)

I'm pretty sure the title of the celebration is "Year of a Million Dreams". It seems interesting, but I don't think I will be able to go to a park during the event.

As much as Year Of A Million Dreams, supposedly starting around October, is going to be a really big thing, DisneyWorld hits 35 on October 1st, so maybe anything they do for that will eclipse it...unless they tie the two in together, like "For Walt Disney World's 35th Birthday we introduce the Year Of A Million Dreams!", and it'd end nicely on EPCOT's 25th anniversary, if they did that.

From what I've heard on Y.O.A.M.D. it's mostly fulfulling the dreams of people in the park, with the biggest "dream" that was thought up by imagineers being:

One family of guests would get to spend a night in the castle. It's rumoured to have an old office or a room reserved for the Disney family up there that was never used, so according to the rumour, Imagineering plans to clean it up and allow one family to sleep there for the night.

I did hear though that it was supposed to start October, but there were other things to do with it that would start in January.

I won't be there for the Year Of A Million Dreams, but I'd like to see some of the dreams they manage to make come true for people. =) This could possibly, if it isn't overshadowed by WDW's 35th anniversary, be one of the better things WDI is doing this year.

I'm pretty sure I heard Space Mountain would be Rockin' Space Mountain or Rockin' Mountain or something like that.

It has been confirmed "The Year of a Million Dreams" kicks off in Walt Disney World this October.

One family of guests would get to spend a night in the castle. It's rumoured to have an old office or a room reserved for the Disney family up there that was never used, so according to the rumour, Imagineering plans to clean it up and allow one family to sleep there for the night.

That's not a rumor, my friend - that's the truth. Other prizes include a Golden FASTPASS, invitations to grand balls, special park time after closing and other rewards that are sure to "wow" the crowd.

The "Year of Million Dreams" is a way to keep the 50th crowds coming but with a new 'twist'.
There's really not too much to get excided over.
A few attractions will be introduced along with large giveaways down to the smaller ones.
The highlights are the Mickey Mouse Hotel Room (Disneyland Hotel at DLR) and the new room in Cinderella Castle (WDW), the Golden Fastpasses, and the Pirates ride where you get to ride along with real pirates.

Happy Million Dreams

I'd much rather it be: "Year of a Million Dreams"

When I first heard of this "Celebration" I was really excited...

I'm happy that the "The Happiest Celebration on Earth" Celebration was finally coming to an end and something new for Disney theme park visitors was finally going to be in store...

But the more & more I think about it..., the more & more I realize that there's not much to get too excited over...

"The Year of a Million Dreams" is obviously nothing more than a half-baked idea to ride the tail-end of the enormous success of the "The Happiest Celebration on Earth..."

Disney isn't releasing any "Major" attractions during this event, but is instead focusing on the cast member/visitor one-on-one relationship...

That idea is great and all... But it's something that's been part of the Disney parks since they opened... I don't think we really need an entire year's worth of marketing campaigns to tell us that Disney parks create great memories...

That will happen anyway...

All-in-all I don't think this celebration will make me stop what I'm doing and run to the nearest Disney park...

I'm happy that Disney is finally going to be taking down the decorations off Cinderella Castle and we'll finally get our beautiful "original" castle back...

And I'm hoping Disney's only using this "extra year's time" to prepare for the real celebration that should kick off in October of 2007...

Epcot's 25th Anniversary!!! :)

Is the million of dreams next year?
Because they are opening Nemo's Submarine ride next year and the Night Time Space Mountain will be called Rocket it Moutain or Rock It Mountain . Probably reopened Country Bears into DCA.

That sounds really cool :) I can't wait for the arrive of the Nemo Submarines, wasn't there a 20000 leagues ride there before and they closed it down?

Oh yeah and I'm also really happy that they're reverting back to the regular castle, the decorations are UGLY. I remember when i was little they had the 25th disneyworld anniversary and we went there for a week. this was when i was obsessed with everything princess, and so all i ever wanted was to go see the cinderella castle but they had the decorations up and it was pretty sad for me lol.

Yeah and the reasons why they took it down..
1. A marine biologists complained that the scenery wasn't kept in factual terms. Ummm. something about how the sea kelp was put in.
2. It was considered to be a healthhazard
a. The carbonmoxide that was from the submarine was leaking into the vessel
b. It someone passes gas or change a stinky dirty diaper. No relief until the ride is over.

lol well I can see that, but how on earth would the nemo submarines be any different? then again disney always has something up their sleeve to improve their old rides...
