I'm sure everyone has noticed the recent error messages of the server being busy. This is mostly due to the fact that our present server's processor is being over taxed with running ToonTownCentral.com and VMKForums.com. (Currently a 2.0gig p4). Both sites are seeing a large population growth and greater usage by its members. We have done our best to try to make adjustments to the server (eg. eaccelerator, and other things), but the bottleneck still resides with the processor. We see no other options at this time but to obtain a second server so each website will have its own server. Since VMKForums.com is the smaller of the two sites, it will retain our current server. This will be a great server for its usage since this server has served us well for years for ToonTownCentral.com. We are hoping to transfer ToonTownCentral.com to the new server which will be a great deal faster. This will insure that there is enough processing power to meet current and projected future demands of both websites. (eg. Retail Copies and Console's)

This may come at a bad time for some, but I am asking for donations for the second server. I have already purchased a newer server (for one month so far) with a faster processor that will be able to handle a very large work load so we will eliminate any future problems of the server being busy (See below for specs). Of course, this will demand quite a bit of money to keep going. I will of course be adding some of my own money to insure the success of these changes aswell as current saved money. If you are unable to financially deal with donating, then please don't. If you are able to spare some money to help us in our cause, then please donate today. We have purchased a really nice server for a great price, if you do some research you will realise it is a great price.

New Server Specs:
CPU: Dual Intel Pentium Xeon 3.0D (yes two cpu's)
FSB: 800 MHz
L3 Cache: 1MB
RAM: 1gig DDR 333 ECC Registered
HDD: 250gb SATA
Transfer: 1200gb
OS: Fedora Core 3

The server costs $149 per month, plus we will be paying an extra $14 per month for "Directadmin" which will allow us to adminster the server much easier. There was no setup fee unlike other server providers.

Thank you for updating/purchasing a new server for both forums. I'm glad we will finally be able to navigate around without seeing error messages. Wow, Nick. Thank you so much for explaining to us what has been going on and for explaining how it is going to be fixed. I really appreaciate that you have created this site in the first place. I like the specs Nick on the new server. Using the server that TTC is on for VMK Forums will work just fine. In terms of donating I will see about it. I would like to say think you for solving the server problem. It just started recently for me around August 14th!
