View Full Version : High School Musical coming to DCA
WDWizard2 08-05-2006, 02:38 AM Word has it that starting October 1st, the new High School Musical Pep Rally is set to debut at DCA. This show will have a float unit that travels the Performance Corridor with at least two separate show-stops. Rumor has it that there may be dance routines involving basketballs; routines similar to the ones featured in the film.

My thoughts are if they wanted to do something with High School Musical it should be a show in a theatre. And no I dont think the actors from the movie will be a part of this.

Tinklover 08-05-2006, 02:43 AM I would think that since they might replace aladin they would put HSM there and on a float that would be hard

Actually, Aladdin is staying. A new cast was signed on until 2007 so it is still very unlikely they would get rid of it right now.
As for High School Musical, I really do hope it stays as a parade. That way I can hide on various attractions to aviod listening to the music. If Superstar Limo was still around, I would ever hide on that!
Neoteny 08-05-2006, 02:59 PM Sounds like fun! Disney is really working hard to get more people into Disney's California Adventure. It's a shame that park's not more popular: It's beautifully designed, and there are a lot of good attractions there.
(Oh, and I'm glad the Aladdin show's sticking around!)

im.a.princess 08-28-2006, 05:14 AM The alladin play at DCA is really amazing but i mean, once you've seen it.. youve seen it. I dont know if i could sit through it a second time. If they got rid of it i wouldn't be too upset.

I make a point to see it every time I am there, which is several times a year!

Who is Joel is he a CM?
I know that the 3 main genie performers now are Dylan, Dennis and Ryan.
SurfedUpDane 11-12-2006, 08:23 PM I regret the day I bought the High School Musical outfit on VMK, what a bad decision. That movie is terrible.
Hayleepants_94 11-12-2006, 08:43 PM yes I just found out the pep rally show was there because I was planning my disney vacation and I looked at attractions and I saw it.... I think this attraction will probably bring more people into dca
Caterpillar AEIOU 11-12-2006, 09:02 PM The Pep rally is really cute.
It has MOST of the Music from the Movie.
It is a rolling stage, similar to a parade float.
They stop and sign and dance.
The grab some kids from the audience at the end, to dance with them.
They get to be in the "all in this together " dance!
They danc eis the same as the movie.
It is really fun.
Jessie got to be in it. But my camera battery was dead!
I'll try again next time.
WDWLinny 11-13-2006, 10:44 PM I Saw The Pep Rally At WDW It Was Cool To See It One Time But I Dont Think I Will Watch It Again :- )

timmyastro 11-13-2006, 10:46 PM Yeah i saw it , i dont like HSM at all , just because its super annoying the way disney advertises it, if we took a poll on if zac efron was not in the movie would you still watch it? , most girls would probably say maybe instead of yeah.
It was more of something i would walk past rather than watch.

GBShorts 11-21-2006, 01:29 PM When we ran into it, I had to laugh. We were walking through DCA and I suddenly started hearing that familiar HSM "bop bop bop!" song that you can't get out of your head. I looked at JP and said "uh oh. here comes something"... and lo and behold a single float with flailing cheerleaders comes up.
They have a few who dance in front and behind and a few who dance ON the float. I'm not sure if those ON the float are supposed to represent the main characters from the show or just "cast" (think the giant Gym scene at the end where they're all dancing), but it was pretty well done...despite the fact that nobody was really watching except to stop and move out of the way so they didn't get flattened by the flailing cheerleaders. :)
Penguinz 11-21-2006, 02:44 PM Wow, that's interesting. I never really liked HSM...
But, I'll live. I can't go there for two years anyway.
jdrocks 11-21-2006, 11:47 PM I know they're having an HSM Concert with the stars of the movie except the MAIN star Zac Efron! Oh well. Anyways, I am sooooo going to see the HSM Pep Ralley when I go to DLR December 15 AND 25 (I have annual passes so I go whenever I have nothing else to do lol):D
I am soooo in love with HSM! BEST MUSICAL EVER!!!!!!! Well in my opinion lol.

Jenijeni 11-22-2006, 12:03 AM After my 15th time watching it I got tired of it. It's not an oK movie on my list :) But I might stop and watch.
fantasylion 11-22-2006, 12:09 AM It's really awesome! I went there two Fridays ago and watched it! It's really awesome!!
winniesdapooh 11-22-2006, 12:12 AM well i have actually seen it at WDW like 4 weeks ago. it did not have big star players from the movie. it shows like 2 or three dance steps and 1 basketball. there were 3 people on stage and 1 was the drummer boy from the band, the head of the spirit club, and a cheerleader.
