On Thursday morning I was playing when I suddenly lost my Internet connection...completely. Turns out my firewall shut me down as I'd gotten a virus. It was one of those Bagle jobs, but even when I cleaned it McAfee, Norton & AVG couldn't find any others. I finally found AVPersonal which found mutliple "Trojans" on the system.

The odd thing is that they were in files with names like "disney.pirates.exe" "disney.smallworld.exe" and "disney.wishuponastar.exe" or something like that.

At the time, the only open windows were VMK and www.vmkforums.com Has anyone here had a problem?

*whines* I hate the word Trojan... If that happens to more people, I might stop playing VMK...

Update: I'm still without my computer. :( I've run every anti-virus program I can think of, but am no longer finding any viruses. However, the system continues to attempt to connect with every other system on the planet that spreads viruses. Thank goodness for the firewall.

Since we cannot find the offending file/s, I was attempting to finish a backup I'd started just before this all started. There are some files that I can NOT lose. The system I'd been storing the backup on was old & the hard drive just crashed, so I have to start the backup all over again.

Grim Wolf - If your parents are using Windows XP on their computer and installed SP2, the firewall is now on by default. If that's the case, they won't be able to get back on the Internet until they remove the virus/trojan/whatever...or over-ride the firewall which is not a good idea.

I have! I have found 3 Trojan Horse Virus's since I started playing VMK on this computer of mine. Then I got on my other computer and I saw it had like 30 Trojan Horse Virus's. for now on, I do a virus scan on my computer to make sure it has no Trojans or anything else.

ALSO!

I know it is VMK that is doing this because every computer I play it on gets a Trojan soon.

Have you tried an anti-virus program called AVG? It keeps my computer safe from any virus's. I think its a good idea though for anyone to do a virus sna everyday, and keep their anti-virus prorgams up to date, otherwise your computer and all its infomation could be fried(Really). I also had to get a new Hard Drive because my laptop(Not my desktops) got one and we never got it deleted or put in our virus vault.
