I was looking at some WDW videos on Goggle Video And i found this! http://******************/videoplay?docid=2755740724561962946&q=WDW

It is amazing! It is space mountain with the lights on! They are on the Tommorrowland Ride that takes you around Tomorrowland and you go into space mountain. I'm guessing it was closed! I think that is just amazing! You gotta check it out! Post your thoughts!

Yup, if you see that Space Mountain is closed for any number of things, always hop on the TTA. A rare chance to see what the track looks like in real life. It is scary to see it though because the track is so closely packed together.

They don't really allow video taping on the rides there and stuff. But besides that, it looks totally different without all the effects

I was at Disney World over Christmas and was in line for Space Mountain. We were almost where you get on the ride when everything stopped and the lights came on. I am only a kid (well pre-teen) and I didn't know that it was rare to see Space Mountain with the lights on until my dad told me. lol I guess I was pretty lucky!

This wasn't an offical Video from WDW. That would be a Relive The Magic video and it wasn't. I have no idea how she took it but still it is amazing! Thanks for the complaments!

You are allowed to bring video camera's on pretty much any ride. Unless the CM tells you not to, you are allowed. In dark rides you are not supposed to use flash to distract away from the illusion. Pretty much any ride you can video tape.

It is very weird standing at the loading station and they stop the ride for some reason and the lights come on. As one person said here is that it doesn't look so high with the lights on

its really weird to ride it with the lights partially on...they had to stop it once when I was loading and they kept the ride going but only with some lights on, I kept ducking cuz i thought the beams were gonna hit my head lol

When you take a ride like space mountain and see it with the lights on it kinda loses the magic filling. Does any one agree? Thanks for all the complaments to :)

Woah, that's awesome! If you've been on Space Mountain, you know that you'd never see that. It looks just like a big, wooden rollercoster! When you're on the normal thing, with the lights off, you can sometimes catch glimpses of the ride here and there, if you look around.

COOL!! but scary.. I'm going to tell my sister it is a nice little slow ride and when she goes on it ;) lol
That way I won't have to ride it by myself.. because if she knows it is a big ride, she won't ride it.

It's not a very impressive-looking ride with the lights on. I think I'll stick to riding it in the dark.

Dudejoejoe
08-03-2006, 07:26 PM
I agree. But WDW didn't have to make it look good because it was going to be ridden in the dark.

The Space Mountain at Disneyland's better, anyway.

I suppose it would be interesting to ride Space Mountain once with the lights on, just for the experience, but then I'd go back to turning the lights off.

glowpeanut

one time i went with school and they put the lights on it barely has any drops. but its stilll fun

One time when I went the on the TTC, the Space Mountain lights were on. It was kinda cool, but there was a bunch of equipment on the floor, which you couldn't see in the video cause it went straight across, the video never went down so you could actually see the equipment, but it was pretty cool.

OMG if Space Mountain had the lights on when I went to wait in line, and I saw it like that, I would have NEVERRR gone on it! I'd be terrified. Turns out, I loved it. =D

you dont really have to sneak a camera on the TTA lol

Chele
08-20-2006, 06:10 AM
yeah it's the blue line. or something at WDW in tomorroland you can go on it. i've been on that thing where it takes you on the tour like thing shown in the video

It's called the TTA (Tomorrowland Transist Authority, I believe). It has signs indicating it is the "blue line" and used to be called the People Mover.

Video taping or picture taking is permitted on most Disney attractions however, the use of a flash or any form of lighting on your camera is only allowed on certain attractions.

The appeal of WDW's Space Mountain is the darkness (or actually semi-darkness as you can see the track when you are in the front seat). It most certainly would not have the same drawal if it were placed in a well lit area. It's actually two tracks that almost mirror each other. Each track is pretty simple and weaves in on it's self over and over with small drops and tight turns. It's a fun coaster that is extremly dated (it opened in 1974?) but is not the biggest or best coaster on WDW property. For a much larger thrill try Everest or Rockin' Roller Coaster.

GreenGirlJess

That's pretty cool, but if you look carefully with the space mountain lights off, and go on the TTA, you can see the outline of the track.
