Can anybody tell me if Disneyland did the Dreams Come True Fireworks show on Sunday July 30 2006, I heard it was canceled last night due to wind.
If anybody was there last night please let me know if it is true

Thanks

Here is a hint.. during summer the santa anna winds are in.... and since your in a velley you dont feel it much.... but they are there....

So they actually plan on them being cancled... lol and then only change the announcement if the winds are in Disneyland's favor... I'm 99% sure about that.

The Santa Ana winds actually only happen from fall to the spring (with very strong winds coming from the inland/desert areas to the north/northeast to the coast) that typically also bring a jump in temperature and a huge dip in humidity. Those winds typically go across Disneyland from the Northeast/East towards the West/southwest towards the coast. Normal wind patterns are the onshore sea breezes that go from the coast to the inland areas in a direction toward the northeast.

The recent winds/weather that could be culprit for that particular weekend is the monsoonal moisture brought up from Mexico by a high pressure system over the Mexico/Arizona border area, increasing humidity and causing sudden downpours in the inland/desert areas. The next morning it actually rained in Orange County (which usually doesn't see the tropical mositure result in cloudy/stormy weather)

During summer, cancellations may usually occur due to a very strong sea breeze coming from the Southwest or the monsoonal mositure coming from the east/southeast.

sorry.. I get my other state's seasons mixed up..
(FLA has Fall/winter november - early march.. and HOT)

But I did hear, they now plan on setting up, but also that it can be cancled at any moment's notice... and expect it to start delayed more often than on time...

They will usually delay the show for up to ten minutes before canceling it. However if the wind conditions aren't favorable during any part of the show, they will simply cancel the remainder of the show.
Easiest way to know if the fireworks are canceled is if the CMs are removing the ropes at the top of Main Street (the area between Coke Corner, and the Photo Supply Shop.) If they remove the ropes before the show has started, then the fireworks are canceled.
Don't pester the CMs about whether or not the show will be canceled, if they find out about it, it will be about a minute or so before you do.
