View Full Version : Fastpass Troubles
MickeyForMayor 07-31-2006, 12:20 AM ok just one problem with fastpass here's my story:
i went to WDW in late june and me and 3 other of my reletaves were waiting in line for kilimajaro safaries (it was to late to get fastpasses) so were waiting by the line for the people with fastpasses and then this group of like 100 people come (they were all wearing the same shirt so i thought they were like a camp from brazil because they didn't speak english) so they come right in frount of everyone! they took up like 5 buses and no one else but that camp got on the bus! it was so annoying because we had to wait forever with them in frount of us.
im on both sides:
side 1: if people get the fastpass before yes they sould have the right to go ahead of everyone
side 2:they should not let that many people go in frount of everyone
ok i have a funny story having to deal with the "happy tours" ppl
ok so they are brazilain (just adding that lol)
i was at MGM and they were there to me and my mom was just leaving and we were by the hat and goofy was right under the hat.
and then 10 "happy tour" kids started running towards goofy
once goofy sees them he jumps up and then starts running away they ran around the hat chasing goofy it was SO funny!!!
WDWFanaticD 07-31-2006, 12:22 AM If they had fastpasses that it is right. That is what it was meant for and it doesn't matter if there are 100 people in a group or 100 people made up of many groups.
cptnruthless 07-31-2006, 12:38 AM They do limit the amount of people that go ahead at a time for the fastpasses, but they wont break up groups.
Sorry it had to happen that way, but usually it works out right.
LadyVader 07-31-2006, 02:34 AM Sorry to hear about the mess mayor, but during the summer so many South American tour groups come, and they have a fit if they are seperated from their groups, so Disney tries very hard to accommodate them. It is always unfortunate for anyone at the parks when these huge groups come. I find myself racing to get in front of them.

Every summer i run into the exact thing described here. Unfortuanitly the camps are usually very rude and took a swing at me because they said something very rude in spanish and i replied back that i spoke spanish and what they did was rude. So his responce to that was to try to hit me. So instead of trying to be in front of them i try to avoid them all together
Extras 07-31-2006, 04:14 AM Shouldn't they ALWAYS break up groups?
crushandgush 07-31-2006, 04:27 AM we went to disney in may for magic music days,so there was a bunch of groups but they were broke up.no fass pass needed that week:)
p.s.i go to typhoon lagoon tomorrow!
lemonysnicket3 07-31-2006, 05:35 AM O.o. they should at least do the other thing like the Insider tour. (Go in the special handicapped line! it was awesome getting on the ride BEFORE the handicapped people <3
Tyrannosaurus 07-31-2006, 05:37 AM oh i think i saw them!all the sudden in the car a bunch of people wearing white shirts and they look the same cross the street while we were waiting in the car for three minutes
MickeyForMayor 07-31-2006, 07:07 AM oh i think i saw them!all the sudden in the car a bunch of people wearing white shirts and they look the same cross the street while we were waiting in the car for three minutes
they were yellow shirts lol :D i hope they limit the people tho
PurpleMonkey 07-31-2006, 07:47 AM This reminds me of the time I was waiting in line for the Matterhorn alone and all of a sudden about 20 people started to cut in front of us to the rest of their group. Me, being the nice person I am, stood there not trying to be rude, but the girl behind me whispered, "Go.. Just go.." and we all went in front of them without them noticing. We were talking about it while we waited to get on the ride. I understand when 1 or 2 people come back in line, but 20 people is unacceptable.
SuperJaekizzle 07-31-2006, 07:51 AM I think that if they have groups that big they should have the parks open late to accomodate them so that they still go on rides. It is much later in the day in brazil or where ever then in the day early in the parks. Let them go later so they are more used to they're time zone and nobody is broken up or cut in front of.
technogirl 07-31-2006, 07:53 AM People don't have manners now. Being the kid I am now, I like scream at anyone that cuts now. Well, in a good mood I just cut in front of them again. LOL
PurpleMonkey 07-31-2006, 07:53 AM Brazil is about 2 or 3 hours ahead of Florida time. So it feels later to them... it would be better to open the park early.

SweepHunter 07-31-2006, 11:58 AM I went to WDW in 1998 and this was an existing problem back then. At certain times Brazil as well as other countries have tour groups take over the parks literally. even 8 years ago they would plow through rides, reserve seats and acted like they owned the park.
With fast pass you can take all the tickets and shove them into the machines. This means that your disable guests, little kids, and grannies can get a fast pass on the big rides at the parks like Maliboomer, space mountain, and pirates. It happens at all parks. This means a team of four people can run across the park with the tour's tickets shoving them into fast pass machines.
Complain and maybe disney will do something.
It is a problem they are aware of but nothing they can really do. I however got sweet revenge by scaring them with my electric scooter that I rented.

It could have been a group of anybody, they used the fastpass the right way. As was stated, when you see these groups with same shirts or following flags, try to rush in front. in this case you could not, but hey...the vacation was not ruined.

hahahaha u scared them wit ur scooter tjhats funny!
PinkPokaDot 07-31-2006, 03:30 PM Personaly I strongly dislike these tour groups. I just got back from a two week vacation in WDW on saturday and WDW was packed with them. Everywhere you went you would see bright shirts and spandex (some of those people should not have been wearing spandex bottoms!) and portuguese.
We went to Fantasmic! one night and the groups were having a cheer battle. They all began doing different chants and cheers in spanish. It was crazy! When we were in animal kingdom we were going to Pizzafari for lunch and we saw a group going in, so my mom told me to run ahead so we were infront of them, then go reserve a table. The only place we didn't see them on disney property was Downtown Disney.
sfaigel 07-31-2006, 04:07 PM not only is it annoying with fastpassess but when i tried to get one my fastpass my ticket (which was a plastic one due to we ordered a head of time) would not go through meaning no fastpass. We went to costumer service and they wanted to change it for a paper ticket. I was like i want my ticket for a sovonier So no fastpass for me
sorry for all the spelling errors
Tyrannosaurus 07-31-2006, 04:57 PM yea im a cheater fastpass rules but in Tour Groups!!! no!! we waisted a whole hour of time in the matterhorn line
Extras 08-01-2006, 01:50 AM Fastpass is fun, but when they are like, HAHA we can cut in front of U!
I Punch and Kick Them.
Juneau 08-04-2006, 11:13 PM Ok, I had this for two weeks when I was out there recently, and here's my view on fastpasses:
BAN THEM.
If you wanna get on the ride so much, queue the full 80 minutes with everyone else! I queued for 75 minutes for Soarin', an hour for Big Thunder, and yet hundreds of fastpassers just waltz on in like 5minutes.
Honestly, if your a big enough fan of the ride...if you honestly want to ride it so much that you can't wait...then you should wait. Enjoy the queue theming. Notice the things around you.
When I went on Splash Mountain it was a Sunday morning, and I walked right on...and you know what...I didn't feel satisfied. I missed the entire queue theming. I didn't get anything from it. Same thing with Figment and MuppetVision.
But, in every other ride I queued hours for I noticed tiny details. I'd never noticed the Pirate ship in the back of the queue at Pirates, I got to read all the signs at the Jungle Cruise, and I can honestly say I prefer seeing all the themeing and "wasting" over an hour of my time for a 5minute ride just because it shows all the minute detail that WDI put into rides and shows.
Oh, and there were hundreds of tour groups there when I went. I had to laugh on Mansion, cause the cast member shouted at them and told them to be quiet in the Stretching Room.
Basically it was my family, 3 other familys, a boyfriend and girlfriend, and a tour group. They were talking over the spiel of the Ghost Host, and she was like "Be Quiet Mortals", and they kept on talking, so she went right up behind one of the louder ones and shouted "Have some respect for the dead and be quiet! Do not spoil it for everyone!" I really had to laugh, and that castmember got my respect for trying to get those who wanted to enjoy the ride to hear it.
Oh, and cause of said Tour Groups, it was the first time I've ever seen the whole of the "limbo" section full from the stretching rooms to the doombuggies. And we were there so long that I got to see both stretching rooms.
Still: Ban Fastpass.
