Well, the only one I know besides VMK is Sims Online. You have to pay like $10 a month for it though. But VMK is the BEST. I don't play Sims Online Anymore, I had computer problems and had to quit.

Almost every online game has a chat feature, although few games are as based around chat as VMK is. For some odd reason or another, my friend perfers Warcraft 3, but that's not as kid friendly. Google up penguin chat LOL.

On TOPIC:It is a lot like vmk, except you run around as a penguin. You also play random minigames to get coings to buy stuff for your igloo. And you throw snowball at passer-byers, what can be more fun!

I have also never heard of it but I tried finding and found that the home page can be found at Maplestory.com (ironic huh?) Im pretty sure it is a More "Asian" centered game but you can read it in English also (has an opening thing you can read in about four different Korean and Chinese languages and English even though it says it has millions of players world wide

i tried plaing that 1,but it asks me to put in the verifificatio code, which it sent to my email by the way, and whn it send it, i copied and pasted, and still it said that it is not right. i riedfive times, and it kept on saying verification code in invalid. i gave up and tried habbo hotle, but i did not like it i found it kinda boring, and everyone was swearing and fighting and saying odd stuff, also hving to bug coins and pay with real money was stupid. i gave up, and decided i will wait for VMk to open, however if someone knows a good site, liek VMK, not the type you pay for ,plz inform me i wiould appreciate it . thankyou.

Why does runescape scare you? That is not a bad game really at all (except the graphics aren't too good)

There is no gore or swearing (usually) on runescape.

I have to say dont play Habbo or Runscape.
Habbo is not g-rated, freely chat, no dictionary only for foul language.
Ruscape is also bad, vioncle and not g-rated chat.
