View Full Version : The Disney Touch
PurpleMonkey 07-23-2006, 09:40 PM The one thing that seperates Disney from the rest is the way they put the customer first. This is the place to post about the good things that they have done to you or people you know. It can be about anything Disney.
Here's Mine:
We had to write a letter to someone famous and I of course chose Walt Disney. Since he is no longer living, I was told to mail it to the Studio. I mailed it and I didn't expect anything (well.. maybe some theme park tickets :) lol jk). Well about a month or two later I got a letter and it was an autographed picture by the mouse himself! I thought that was very nice on their part. The picture is below and I edited out my name (which took forever). However, I left the "!". Well, that's all I have to say, and I want to hear your stories too.

PrincessWall 07-23-2006, 09:45 PM Ooooh!! I love this thread :):)
We were staying at the Polynesian when I was about six or so, and we had come back from the Cinderella breakfast. We came back in the evening, so we had not come back after the Cinderella Breakfast at the Castle. We came back to the room and there was a picture of Cinderella adressed to me with my name on it in a Polynesian envelope. My parents, now that I'm old enough to know that if they sent it they would tell me, didn't sent it. It was so exciting, espically (sp?) when I was six having a picture of Cindy adressed to me ;)

Adventurebry 07-23-2006, 09:49 PM I got a coulple autographs by mail. I have Mickey and minie. Alice and the rabbit (forgot the name, lol), all the Disney princesses, peter pan, Tinkerbelle, and snowwhite with all of the seven dwarfs. They all (besides tinkerbelle) Look just like yours! I emailed them to get all of them :P.
PurpleMonkey 07-23-2006, 09:52 PM How do you email them... send me a pm.
SleepyPiglet 07-23-2006, 09:56 PM Well...you see my last stay at WDW wasn't too great. They switched our hotel room 4 times to an upgraded level and even got us fastpasses ^-^
I even love Disney so much that for a school project me and babypiglet made a magazine...based on Disney :D
Off Topic: You just reminded me to send something to Disney ;)
Adventurebry 07-23-2006, 10:03 PM How do you email them... send me a pm.
I am looking for the email now. I will pm you when I find it. It won't be for a while, as it was a long time ago..
EDIT: I got it! I sent the PM.
Schmoofy 07-25-2006, 05:32 PM One of the things that has happened to me with "the Disney touch", has to be with the characters around the parks.
I once asked Prince Charming how old he was. His reply- "Disney characters are timeless". I was stunned at such an answer, so I asked another question- "What's your first name?" His reply- "Prince, of course!"
Oh, and make sure to "boo!" at the villians no matter where you see them, it's quite enjoyable :D
Adventurebry 08-07-2006, 08:54 PM Today, I got two good things from Disney! When I went to Disneyland they said they would mail the 50th quest cards to me, as they were out of them that day. So, I gave the worker my address, and this was on july 2. I finally got it today. They sent a letter, from VMK OPS, and the stamp on it was a lady and the tramp one =). I thought that was cute. anyway, ther put a letter inside saying sorry for the delay, and to enjoy it. And there were the VMK cards, tucked safely inside.
Now, what I also got today, it made me even more happy. Only about a week ago, I sent a letter to Roy Disney ( Nephew of Walt Disney, Director of Fantaisha 2000) saying how I adore his work. I also asked for an autograph from him. ( I am a autograph collecter.) Only about a week or two later, I get a letter back from him. Inside it, it says:
Dear (My name)-
Best wishes!
Signed Roy Disney.
It was on a fancy paper too, with his name on top and everything:Tongue:. This is my most treasured autograph out of all of the ones I have.
Lilqueeny2 08-10-2006, 12:40 AM I <3 WDW!! Its the happiest place on the earth !
Tinklover 08-10-2006, 12:57 AM Once when we requested a room close by the monerail at the Contemperary the forgot or did not have one or something so we got one of the party suits or what ever you want to call them for no extra cost. While they were showing it to us before we agreed to take it they talked to me and my brother. They Asked about our favorite charaters. Later after going to a park we came and found pictures of our favorite characters with specail messages left on them!
DsnyManiac 08-10-2006, 01:28 AM last time i went to California Adventure, i was in line to see Cruella De Vil, so when i get up she sees my pins and none of them had her on it so this is what happened ( all of it )
- i walk up -
CDV: Ugh! No pins of me?
me: - shakes head -
CDV: I will give you five seconds to come up with an excuse! - turns around -
me: -just stands there -
CDV: five seconds is up! So what is your excuse?
me: -shrugs-
CDV: No excuse?!
- mickey and minnie walk up behind me in Vacation outfits -

picture form:
:pirate:  :minniemo: :mickeymo:
after that cruela had to leave and everybody else was mad lol
GBShorts 08-10-2006, 02:22 AM I mentioned it was our first anniversary the last time we went to WDW. We stayed at All-Star Music.
The next afternoon, upon returning from the parks, we found three balloons and an autographed photo of Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle (color photo, real signatures) on our table.
I love Disney. :)
mickeymouse2818 08-10-2006, 02:29 AM these are the reasons why i love disney so much. its the overall experience and the details that make disney so special. they not only care for their guest, they treat each and everyone of us is a special way that makes us fill up with joy and i believe Disney is the only one who achieves that on so many levels.
Poseidon 08-10-2006, 02:31 AM Well, one time, there was a REALLY big safety hazard in the Boardwalk Inn. There were doors that wouldn't open and would only open if you had a card to get in (it was to the concierge rooms/food area) and in case of a fire, still would not open. We even had a false alarm where we actually could not get out of the building. Imagine if it was a real fire? Let's just say my parents were NOT happy with this. All in all, we got Disney to change the way it was designed, and got a FREE 7-DAY TRIP due to inconveniences. It just shows how nice Disney can be when you have an inconvenience.
DisneyWhiz 08-10-2006, 05:39 AM what is the email and address to disney? i would like some autographs of my own lol :)
JeannieV 08-10-2006, 07:52 AM I have hundreds of Magical Memories from many perspectives but I will recall my latest from a guest's view.
Our family had a 14 hour long trips that turned into a 28 hour trip arriving in Orlando at 2 am. However, we decided to still wake up and make it to Disney the next day. Since Sorcerer Mickey is one of my favorites and my son told about everybody on 6 planes he was going to see Mickey Mouse, we started with that at MGM Studios.
Mickey was going through the line at like 1 minute a person (Like he needs to) and finally got to us. Well, when he did...after about 1 minute I told my son it was time to go.. BUT
MICKEY SAID NO!
He took my son and just kept posing him for like 4 minutes. It was so Magical the line was going "ooo" and awww". I mean we had just had the WORST travel experience of our lives to only get to Disney and to have Mickey make our day!
We definitly gave Mickey a 5 star. (If you do not know, any cast member that goes above and beyond their job..YOU the guest can get them a reward. Just get their name and location and tell the guest relations of that park or hotel) ;)
Our kid still wants to take a plane again to see Mickey. I tell him we can't and he says ok..tomorrow. ;)
Jeena 08-10-2006, 07:57 AM Well you are all very lucky, i would love a signed photo of mickey, aww how sweet would that be?
Can you just e-mail off to get one, or do you have to go somewhere?
Jeena

PrincessKairi12 08-10-2006, 08:20 AM The Disney service truly is kind and caring... I love who they just are with you ^.^ When I had fractured my foot, it was right before our WDW trip... So, I got a wheelchair there and everyone was just so kind @_@ Also my mom really likes to hear "Have a magical day!" from all the cast members o_O... It was nice they sent that signatured picture for you =D!
there is this on person at WDW that is really nice my family is actually really good friends with him now he always so nice and gives us fastpasses whenever we walk by i think i will give him 5 stars
LadyVader 08-10-2006, 12:50 PM I do love Disney so much, it is so wonderful to continue the traditions that Walt Disney set in place to give the public a place that goes above and beyond your expectations. Yes, I do believe that Disney is one of a kind in this.
ACEROLLER 08-10-2006, 12:55 PM Disney is just so amazing they are the ONLY company can pull magic like this off. I remember when i was younger i went to WDW and the first time i walked down Main Street i will never forget it. Even though i am older now and way more mature than i was. I still cry everytime i look at the castle it just sets something off inside me. Walt was that kind of person a great person who loved his family. He brought magic that is not real into real magic, but only it is Disney Magic.
i am almost old enough to go to college and at WDW they help you pay for your college and house you for $25 a week so i going to do that for my college i think what WDW does is so thoughtful

pinkfashionist 08-10-2006, 01:46 PM Hey, don't mean to bug, but can you also PM me the email adress for Disney?
And Disney is the most magical place on earth, that's why anyone and mostly everyone goes there for their vacation that's what makes it so special & magical. :)
Nemofinder 08-10-2006, 02:27 PM Adventurebry I am looking for the email now. I will pm you when I find it. It won't be for a while, as it was a long time ago..
Me too can you pm me it too
MickeyBeast 08-10-2006, 03:19 PM That is why I love Disney so much. They are great at creating those special moments and memories. When I retire I want to work at WDW so I can create the magic too. I do not hesitate at the parks to let someone know if a cast member has gone out of their way. I also love to create magic. This summer we had fun giving out fast passes that we had that were extra. Anyway I have 3 special memories. The first is when my daughter, Pinkpokadot, was a baby. We stayed at the Polynesian and one night after dinner Goofy rolled around on the floor with her for about 1/2 hour making us laugh. Another is my first cruise (ever) on the Disney Magic. I bought a Sorcerer Mickey figurine (about 18-24 inches tall). The cast member asked if I would like to have it autographed. On the cloak it now says "Remember the Magic, Your Pal Mickey". It was so appropriate as that is my favorite Disney saying and we were travelling on that ship. The last was this summer. We went to WDW to celebrate Pink's BD. Of course she wore the Birthday buttons and was treated very special. However at Epcot we got chosen as the "Epcot Family of the Day". The treatment and fun that we had could have only been created by Disney. It was a blast:mickeymo:
pepperthedog 08-12-2006, 12:57 AM aww that's so nice! I love how disney puts 100% into every single thing they do. I wish everything was like that!
For my previous Birthday, I got to go to WDW because my dad had a big meeting there.. and it was on my birthday  So we got to stay at the Grand Floridian besides! :D On my birthday, the cast members sent up a white chocolate mickey statue, cookies, and a Birthday card signed by all of the Pooh Characters! (My favorites :D) That is what I call a magical birthday :)
Chaelle 08-12-2006, 11:27 PM Well when I was doing my first VMK quest at WDW I forgot my tomorrowland quest sheet. You must know first that I get shy talking to people I never met before. So I walked up to the person behind the desk (thinking he was a castmember). I said "Hi, can I have a tomorrowland quest sheet?" But I said it so quietly that he didn't here me. He asked me again and then I said quickly. "I left my tomorrowland quest in the van can I have another o--"
"Uh huh sure." He said (tipicall teenager I figured lol!) So my dad and I did the quests, came back and got half of them wrong. Luckily there was a nice person there, and she gave us the quest cards anyways even though we got the answers wrong.
Thanks nice unidentified staff!!
~Chaelle
Pinkdust 08-12-2006, 11:37 PM ooo I want the email address too... :D
Anyhow! Once when we were at Disneyland, I went up to Cruella DeVil (sp?) to get her autograph. My hair was really long at the time, a little below my waist and I had it in braids. Here was what happened:
Cruella: WHO is this girl?! Why isn't she locked up in a tower? She BELONGS in a tower with this hair!
*There was a Disney staff member nearby sweeping or something*
Cruella: you there! Bring me a tower and lock this girl up in it! She should NOT be wandering the streets!
Staff Lady: Yes, Miss DeVil. Right away.
LOL it was hilarious :D She looked and sounded just like her too... it was pretty awesome.
Chaelle 08-12-2006, 11:51 PM Oh and there was another time where my dad and I were in a big line (even with fastpasses because the ride broke down) at Big Thunder Mountain in WDW. I belive it was the same trip that I did my VMK quests. We were in line and this woman with her toddler is in line with us and we strike up a conversation. A few minutes later when the line FINALLY starts to move, the woman notices that she got fastpasses for splash mountain! There was a friendly castmember about 60 or so and says "What's the trouble?" The woman explains and my dad asks "Can we have the fastpasses?" And the castmember says sure! So here is my dad and I with two extra fastpasses!
Oh and I'll take a mental note for my next disney trip to avoid Cruela :D
~Chaelle
InfernoWanter 08-13-2006, 12:09 AM Yea i just came back on the 10th (what a perfect time to travel on the plane right? -.-) So anyway, It was my sisters Birthday coming up and mine too so i guess the cast members at Pop Century saw it was our birthdays and we walked to our roomand there were balloons and card on the door handle! The cards were autographed by Mickey, Minnie, the whole gang!
And on our hotel phone there was a message with Mickey and Minnie singing happy birthday!
It was so cool and amazing, i <3 Disney because of like what they do to make it so magical and tomake us feel at home :)
Boy that was a handful to type!
Edit-PinkDust That happened to me too, not really tho lol.
I was standing outside of Exposition Hall and holding some of my VMK papers, and all of a sudden The Fox And The Cat (Who are like the best Disney Characters) Steal my papers! It was so funny and they were acting like they were on a treasure hunt like thinking and pointing to a direction. Finaly a cast member got my papers and handed them back to me :)
disney_princess_92 08-21-2006, 01:46 AM Just listening to everyone's magical stories makes me think of all my wonderful times at WDW. I go to WDW every other summer so i have been there like 7 times or so. Well last year I went with my Aunt and Uncle and we were in the fastpass line for Sorain'. A women in front of us drop one of her little plush mickey dolls, so I picked it up and gave it back to her. A castmember must have saw because when we arrived back at out hotel, the Carribean Beach, there was a picture of Mickey in front of the castle signed saying "Thanks for all your help (name)! Your pal Mickey" it also had the same type of doll I gave to the women. It was so sweet.
Pinkdust 08-21-2006, 01:49 AM Oh and I've also got a picture of me and my cousin with Captain Hook... it's pretty funny, he's playing with my hair. :D
Chaelle 09-13-2006, 03:35 AM Question:
How can Captain Hook play with your hair when he has a hook?
~Chaelle
this on is funny me and my little brother went to go get pictures with goofy (i had my pirate goofy hat on) anyway when we go to the front of the line we smile for out picture then goofy lifts up my ear and tells me a secret then i smile really big and everybody is laughing and taking pictures of me and goofy
sorry for double post but could you pm me the email address to
PinkTinkPixie 11-29-2006, 03:30 AM Yep. No other park is as magical as Disney :jack:
I went for my birthday the past summer, and they gave me a pin that let the cast members know that I was there for my birthday. Almost everywhere I went, they would make me feel special. If I was watching a parade, some of the performers would wave and say "Happy Birthday", or the people at restuarants would give me a free cookie. One time, I was in a store, and the cashier asked me if I got a phone call yet. I said no, and she dialed a number and handed me the phone... it was Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto on the other line :) Oh yeah, I also went to California Adventure where the Mission Tortilla Factory gave me a free pack of fresh-made tortillas!
Disney = best place to celebrate your birthday :jack:
~Pink
Every time I go to Disneyland or Disneyworld everything and anything can and does happen. The little things the cast members do to make your day and the big things they do to make your week!
At Disneyworld it was 5 minutes to closing and two cast members where closing Phillar Magic.(sp?) It was one of my favorite things at the Magic Kingdom and me and my mom didn't keep track of time and ran over just as they closed it. They looked at me and then at eachother and said " Hey I know it's almost closing but everyone has an hour till they have to leave from shopping. If we get more people great if not oh well but you guys can head on in to watch. ". We where like " NO WAY! ". Afterword we headed to the Emporium and went and shopped around and all the cast members just seemed to say "hi" and help us out extra! It's great to know how great they do their jobs.
LadyVader 11-30-2006, 01:00 PM These stories make me so happy to hear. I have worked late nights at Pirates and always I am amazed at the Disney Spirit. I know that there are grumpy cast members out there, but the majority feel that making magic is the reason why we are there. There is no place like a Disney Park, it is everything that Walt wanted it to be, a place where you can forget your worries of an outside world, where dreams really do come true. I will remember your stories every time I go to work.
devilbaby1214 12-01-2006, 11:14 AM i remeber when i went to disney world once i don't remeber the park though so anyway i went to see jimminy (sp?) cricket and just before my parents take the picture he kisses me thorugh the costume i was like huh? when i left to go to another line. another is that i used to know somebody in epcot at innovenations and i was like his helper each time i was there :) i still have tons of tree seeds from either winning or helping i don't remeber.

All too right. Disney is the most magical park in the world. No matter how many BIG FAST rides other parks can put in or how many acors(sp? I STINK AT SP!!) they add no park will EVER match up to Disney EVER. I love Disney parks so much and when I used to live in CA we went all the time. I am posting from the Hilton Hotel right across from DisneyLand right now!! Your so lucky to get to work their. When I grow up and become an adult my dream is to work their as a cast member, charecter or my BIGGEST dream, to be an imaginear. I've been trying and trying to study up on the job requirments for those three jobs because as my mom says " Disney only chooses the best of the best or the ones with family connections. If you don't give it that exra 110 percent they can just chose someone else who does. A long line is waiting behind YOU for that job and YOU need to give it your all." I guess i'm giving it a head start at being happy and cheerful, I always stand on the monorail and great people or stand anywhere on Vmk and great people. Alot of players say I make them feel happy. But i'm kind of like Push, i'm in one place one time and another another. :) I also very much like Walt Disney World. Working their wouldn't be bad either besides the fact i'm not a fan of the weather 0_0
Enjoy!

GreenGirlJess 12-02-2006, 02:12 AM Once, when I was four or five, I was in line for Minnie, to get her autograph, and I started to cry when she left, so they brought her back just for me =)
And once, I had my hair in pigtails, and the chipmunk with the red nose held up my pigtails during the pictures.
We've gone to Disney so many times. Next weekend, we are going for our fourth time this year. [Since my brother and I are older, we only go a few times a year, but we use to go at least six times a year.] I have so many memories.
Like, the one time they were testing the Kilmanjaro River Rapids, in March/April 1998 (I think).. We went on it, and the water soaked me. I mean, I was dripping. And, since it was like, 60 degrees or something, it was really bad. So, I had to get a 50 dollar warm up suit, or something. =)
Anywho. Disney rocks, flat out.
Swimmin_Is_Wat_I_Do 12-02-2006, 02:16 PM for my birthday last year, a cast member took the traditional "Happy Birthday" and made it into a weird version of it. We were on our way into Buzz Lightyear's ride, and then on the way back out he started singing it again. He then asked me my favorite character, and then he said okay. He then said when you leave go to Town Hall. I did, and there was Mickey (my fav character) and he signed a picture of him and a WDW T-Shirt.
I loved it. I still do!!!
<3 AdventureFishie
KrazyDopey 12-02-2006, 05:51 PM Well I was at Disneyland Resort [staying at the DLR Hotel] with my aunt, uncle, and two youngyoung cousins not even in school yet [my sister too] and we went to Disneyland Park, and we were in Fantasyland, and Cinderella is one of my favoritefavorite characters since I was little, and there was too long a line and my cousins were getting tired and hungry so he had to get back to the hotel, I was sad because I didn't get to see Cinderella. *lol* But the next day we ate breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen, the brochure for it and the sign outside says Dine with goofy and pluto will be there too. So I thought it would just be Goofy, Pluto and maybe Mickey. You know the mainmain characters. But when the characters came in, it was everybody! Cinderella, Minnie, Donald, Belle, Beast, Alice, so many! I was so happy Cinderella was there, she even gave me an autograph! Alice also came by and I wasd wearing a fedora style hat, and she came up and took my hat turned it upside down stuck it back on my head and said, " There, Wouldn't you much more like to look like a flower?" LOL! It's great how Disney has this great service with their themes and everything! everything is themed to perfection! Thank you Disney for bringing the magic in and making dreams of people come true! And perfection and attention to detail:)
Im sure the Disney Touch will live on when I go next year on my birthday, it will be the Birthday of a Million Dreams for me:D:D:D lol woo
Yup. I'm here now and just to see how awesome the Disney workers make the parks it's just awesome!

I thought i would never find somebody who also got mailed cards from the VMK OPS (with the same message lol)....except my cards were 2 sets of thrill seeker quest, and the stamp was Beauty and the Beast.
