~PopLol, yes I remember it, although that I do remember it seems to suggest I am almost too ancient to have any memory left anymore (at least according to your post, Pop :D) The orginial electrical parade only stopped running about 10 years ago, miss. :)

It's sad, i havent seen the new one :( but soon i will, in august!

The ORIGINAL original (at a WDW Hotel) or the DL original, on main street.

I remember the main street one Vaguely. It's been so long.

I do have an original recording of the show on a Disney Classics CD though.

the disneyland one :)..I wish i could have seen the original wdw one :(

I've seen it many times both at DLR and DCA.

I rememeber the WDW one...I loved the music. My favorite float was the light up bug one ♥

Disneyrocks, yes, it was originally Main Street Electrical Parade, but when it left and moved to other places they started calling it Disney's Electrical Parade. I still can't believe they replaced it with Light Tragic..er...Magic.

I don't know how long it had been around when I first saw it, but I remember that one of the last times that I saw it at WDW, it had an Oliver and Company float at the end of it. I remember thinking "Is that a kangaroo?" XD

I saw the Electrical Parade for the first and only time during the fall of its final season. I went to DL thinking "the kids are back in school, so it won't be crowded and I can see the parade that I've never seen before", and boy, was I wrong.

One of the days we were there I found out later was the 3rd highest attendance in DL history up to that point. And if I recall correctly, they closed the gates to new arrivals during the day, which wasn't all that common back then. Or something like that. Anyway, it was immensely crowded. But still fun. We watched the parade from back near Small World.

Yes, I do remember the Main Street Electrical Parade! I loved it~the first time I saw it was in 1982. I actually have a light bulb from Disneyland. They were sold for charity purposes. And the bug was a personal favorite!

Wow, I saw the DLR one when I was about, 2. I only remember the music and a bug thing that made alot of crazy noises! >_< lol But now its back in DCA! yay! ^_^ I saw the DCA one i think in 2003. anyways, I hope they bring it back to DLR

OMG!! I loved that parade. even though I was really little I used to go to disneyland every other weekend just to see the parade. I had annual passes at the time. but I loved that parade! now I'm going to go search for the videotape that I bought of it.

I rememer the original Electrical Parade. It was awesome. We used to go the Disney World every year with my grandparents, when My sister and I were kids. I was in grade school then. I must really be getting old.

ok i am confused. i probably saw it as i have been going to WDW approximately every 2 years since 1972 (OMG! i am old!) but isn't the original main street electrical parade now at Disney California Adventure? or is there a parade prior to that one? i saw it recently at DCA and it looked like the original one i remembered. it follows pretty much the same pattern of floats as the WDW Electical Water Parade (another old favorite)

I love the old music and I remember. My favorite float was the one with Pooh:)

I remember it from WDW. I used to love that parade when I was little! The music was just great. I think they moved it over seas if memory serves me correct....although sometimes its a bit foggy LOL .

I loved that pararde! I can still remember the music. My parents bought me the record (I am old!) for it. And I listened to it for hours! It was a great pararde and I wish that they would bring it back for future generations to enjoy!

i have seen that parade alot and the 1 in california adventure is the same thing as the old 1 in disneyland

It's at California Adventure now, but when it first left Disneyland they made a big fuss about how it was "glowing away forever" and everyone had better come see it for the last time.

i do!! i still have the original video tape of the first one at DLR!!!!!!

oh, by the way, if you do not remember the original, there is some on you tube videos, i watched even a hong kong electrical parade!

Yep, I even bought a commemorative light bulb from the original floats! LOL They offered them as a sort of "get a peice of history - buy one of the bulbs from the floats" type thing...

Sigh, I remember seeing the parade as a tiny little sprout. :) I also remember all the hoopla they made when they were supposedly doing away with the parade. Of course, it was just good ol' Disney marketing to get you to visit the park. At any rate, I'm very glad the parade has a happy life at DCA. It still brings a nostalgic tear to my eye whenever I watch it. :minnie2:

The Electrical Parade was so much better than Spectro Magic. Nothing beats those little bugs and the noises they made.:) The music was awesome too.

i just found my old light bulb!:D and i just watched the video of me at disneyland when i was two ;) and i also got some glimpses of the electrical parade in the background :) Happy Memories...

I remember it all right. It was awesome. And was like, little or something?
I even got the official Disneyland video about how the parade was going to close. But I wonder where that tape went. *Looks around*

well, i finally saw the disney electrical parade at CA Adventure!But, i noticed they took some of the floats out, i wonder why.. :rolleyes:

I scarecly remember the parade but there is another one that was my favorite at WDW
Anyone remember the barge on the lagoon? The Water Pagent? It's still going on. I loved that so much, but since it was dark, I was scared I would fall into the water

I loved that pararde! I can still remember the music. My parents bought me the record (I am old!) for it. And I listened to it for hours! It was a great pararde and I wish that they would bring it back for future generations to enjoy!

I have that song on mp3 and cd in the Disney Classics series (I think there's 5 disks out, each a different color). I never got to see the parade but the music is awesome!

I have both the old and new ones on tape, but I haven't watched the old one in a while. XD

The Main Street Electrical Parade was sold on videotape, just before it was retired at Disneyland. They even sold single light bulbs from the floats, the money was for charity.

I doubt the Parade will ever be brought back to DL, because they have a "Hall of Fame" window above the Bank of America on Main Street. What that means is, anyone or anything important that ever retired from the Walt Disney Co., goes on a window somewhere on Main Street. Next time your at either DL or WDW, look up to the windows. The names were actual Cast Members who are honored in this distinctive way.

The only exception is Walt Disney's window is in Toontown, obscurly hidden to the right of Toontown City Hall.

There is a book about all the windows above Main Street titled "Windows on Main Street" written by Van Arsdale France.

One last note, the name of the song in the Parade. "Baroque Hoedown."

But my favorite was the original dragon. Not the Pete's Dragon they later replaced it with, but the big, scary, fire-breathing dragon that really had no relation to any Disney movie. (And no, I never got the impression it was supposed to be Maleficent.)

One last note, the name of the song in the Parade. "Baroque Hoedown."I love "Baroque Hoedown" so much that I made a custom ringtone of the opening fanfare out of a midi file. One of the few tones that's pitched high enough to be able to hear when I'm at the park! :D
