I just put alot of thought into this. From 1 point of view, it seems like Davy Jones is that bad guy because he keeps his prisoners and stuff. but then again he just feels confused because of the lady and junk. Then Sometimes its like Jack is the bad guy, he give DJ ( Davy Jones) Will just to save him self, same with the heart thing. But then again, Jack is the good guy because, he saved everyone else from the Kraken.

Well...I think Davy Jones is. He doesn't TRY to save anybody.

What about Barbossa who comes in at the end? I also think Jack will kill the kracken from inside it in the next movie then he will be stranded on an island yet again.

well i think this.. jack sparrow was only the bad guy in this one because he put will trouble to cause him death or even and eternity on that ship just to get the key to unlock davy jones chest. Why couldnt jack just do it.he already has caused enough trouble.

Well then he didnt care about later and then he used his LIFE to kill the Kraken(the end, he took out his sword and tried to kill the kraken), and davey jones.. he didnt do anything except torture everyone(everyone besides his Pirate Crew, did i say pirate, i mean zombie-like and alien-like pirates).. and besides, all it was.. was davy jones heart

Im pretty convinced on who the bad guy is... i know it sounds surprisng but i think it's Jack Sparrow..... Here is why...

Jack dragged everyone into trying to find that key.
He tried to break up a happy engagment, by flirting with Miss Elizabeth Swan.
He lied to her about Will Turner's whereabouts.
Instead of his own soul he offered Will's and many others, even though Will stuck with him through think and thin.
He let Will be captured by the tribe people, along with all his other crew.
Captain Jack Sparrow, tried to trick 99 people to leave Tortuga and become sacrafices to pay his debt.
Even though Will Turner had risked his own life, his father's and many of the other worker's, Jack was only thinking about himself and wouldnt let Will free his father.
Jack is a theif, he stole from Tia Dalma (<-SP?) who was trying to help him, he stole one of her rings.
He cowardly took his jar of dirt and fled when the kraken was taking down the black pearl.

However, he did sarafice himself to kill the kraken...

But even through all this we still love him, as the main good guy/bad guy character.

Davy jones was already dead, he became like a squid creature/monster because he was in love and coudnt cope and killed himself by taking out his heart (Heart=love) because he didnt want to be ruled by love anymore.

Also please dont leave such huge empty gaps between your sentances, i shortend them in my quote, and also there is no clips.

And you see the monkey take 1. So that's how Barbossa comes back in the 2nd (and soon to be 3rd movie) So that means Jack isn't dead.

I agree with you! You see neither of them are really villains Davy Jones offers people the service to prevent death and such. It is rather odd but true

I think they both are. Not to name anyone in particular, but some of you are so sure of your opinion you are finding it outrageous if someone else disagrees. I think Jones is more of a bad guy, but Jack wasn't all that great either. Great poll idea btw!

I would say Davy Jones, But I agree that Jack Sparrow wasn't all that great either.
