I have been hearing Rumors that there is a new WDW Pirate Quest for which the prize is a Jack Sparrow Costume. Can anyone who regularlly goes to WDW confirm or deny this for me?

I am going to DLR tomorrow and hope to get some answers, but with all the new CMs there that don't know their Mickey from Mighty Mouse, I wonder how right they are sometimes. Heh.

1025 Codes Entered, no Costume.

We know that there certaintinly is a pirate quest for the parks, unsure of which ones. however there is no pirate quest at this time, staff are still working on it. And nobody has any idea on what the prizes are, although there have been rumors that among the prizes will be the davey jones and jack sparrow costumes that were accidently released.:pirate:

IF the jack sparrow costume is realsed as a prize, then would you still be able to get the sparrow costume from the dead mans chest game...

no if you saw when the costume was accidenly released and the costume from the DMC game then you would see they look totaly different

I went to DLR yesterday and spoke to a number of CM in the VMK areas. One of them even called her supervisor on the phone to try to get more information. No one knew anything about any such Pirate Quest in WDW. One mentioned that she knew the Adventureland Quest in WDW included Pirates, but didn't think the Sparrow Costume was amongst the prizes. She and the other CMs said the only "Quest" is the online game we've all been playing to get the codes.

When I went to WDW I wrangled some info out of the CMs They told me the quest only contains 2 prizes #28 and #29 They wouldn't tell me what they were but they said that the quest was late in its release and that you will not be able to print it out only available in park. Also they had no idea about what card #30 will be hmm.

So prizes #28 & 29? Sweet. That is enlightening!

Also, I sent an e-mail to VMK (not using their form, but directly to an address) asking about this topic and received the following response from Joan in VMK Operations:

So the only ways to get the Jack Sparrow Costume are via that maddening game at random (1/5000 chance) or via in game trading. But Oh! What are prizes #28 and 29? Hmmm

Only 2 cards? That's kind of cheap. The last Pirate Quest had 7 items. I was really hoping they'd finish off series 2 with a few miscellaneous cards (re: animator's desks, etc.) and start series 3 with a haldful of new cards.

Well, I don't have any information directly from cast members, but since I did the WDW quest last year there will probably be more than two cards. The rumor around Jack Sparrow costume started when someone in the game said "Hey, A new pirate quest maybe Jack Sparrow costume will come out...", and the story goes from there. These rumors actually seem to happen quite often, let me see about other rumors:

(1) If we fill all the car seats at sci-fi we will all receive a magic pin - FALSE
(2) They stopped giving jack sparrow costume through the game - FALSE

I am sure I can create a wonderful list of false rumors, but I think we should all just wait and see what comes out. The only thing we know is there will definitely be a new pirate quest coming to the park/parks, and I say lets leave it at that instead of speculating and spreading more rumors...
