im not sure if many of you have heard but i was searching the POTC site and i found that a new pirates online game will be coming in 2007. You get to create your own pirate and sail off with a crew to battle the seas! Not much has been released as if it will have a cost , but it looks like a lot of fun for all of the pirates fans. if you want to visit the site go to...

Ok the email register and beta register are the same which means probably not everyone is chosen to test. Also.... Nobody has said if it costs anything or not, it may be like vmk how it doesn't cost anything,, OR it may be like toontown where you must pay a fee. Im hoping no fee....

I clicked on news, went to the bottom, then clicked the link leading me to the beta testers register.. LOL

I don't think it costs anything. And you don't get invited to beta test it right away. Also, I think you can use your VMK login for the Disney online thing.

I am just a registered member, so I don't think they would make me pay. The only way they could ask you to pay is if they figure out your adress, figure out a credit card number, or something, which we didn't have to give any of that. They would probably send an e-mail saying if you want to continue being a pirate on the online site send in your credit card number here. If you do not, you will not be aloud to play LOL

It will cost money once the game launches. (as in, no longer beta)

Well, the only way they could make you pay is if you gave them your credit card number or something, and once beta is over, a whole new slate will probably go on. If you can send in a question through contact us asking if we have to pay right now, please do it. I am not a beta tester yet, I just registered for info and stuff LOL

Everyone got this e-mail after registration.... and we are not posotive if you have to pay thats just rumors.... so unless someone gives us proff of this it is not certain!!! We may not have to pay,, just like vmk!!! Do not trust everything you see bc there is no proof of having to pay yet!! And im not sure that everyone gets to be a beta tester

Well, those of us who want to at least play as one on the computer recently found out that we’d have to wait until next year to be given the opportunity to play Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Online, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

Not anymore! You can now sign up to be a beta tester for this salty adventure by simply sending an email to beta@pirateslegend.com with the subject line, “Live the Legend”, and your name in the body. Did I mention that the beta test will also allow you to play the game for free? When the game finally launches, there will be a monthly charge to play… just like a pirate to make you cough up the loot.

No guarantees that you’ll be included, but if you email soon, you most likely will be… properly warned ye be, says I.

no i dont think so, considering that if you are beta you dont pay and if you dont want to play they dont have your info for credit cards... it is not even CONF?IRMED that you have to pay bc we do not know wher eht info is from bc i have not actually seen it on the site

You will not start paying until the game is realsed some time in 07

So probably beta is just basically a demo, and once the real things starts up, you will have to pay. Beta will end, and so will you. So once beta is over, chances are, you still will not have to pay, until you are a REAL member. You are now just a beta member ;)

You cant start playing until they release it. I think they will stop sign up for beta soon. You CANNOT play the game yet however!

You register the same way you register for the e-mail updates. I forget which button it was.

The game WILL cost money. Probably the same amount as ToonTown which is $20 a month (They have special deals for that where you can get 6 month's for $60). So don't think that this will be something like VMK. Beta testing should be starting soon since the cell phone version of beta testing started this week. Game is coming out Summer 2007. That's about all anyone knows.

The link that cheese wiz man gave does not work anymore. It was the link given to people who went to E3 a few month's ago and played the game there.

I am so upset, I cannot get on vmk, and nobody can help me!!

its working fine for me but its very laggy. I also believe the beta will come out during the fall or winter. The actual game will probably come out Summer of 07 or when the 3rd movie is released in theaters.

It costs money? =( I signed up to be a beta tester, and got an email back, and now I think I will not be able to play it =(. Maybe I can beg my parents :D.

ATTENTION!!!

do not deactivate your account!!! it deactivates your vmk account!!!!! the game in beta probaly will not cost money tho later on when it officaly opens they might ask for a credit card number and that is when it will start costing money

also, only a few people will become beta testers so you may have to wait till it officaly opens to play or maybe not

Thank you mickey LOL, but maybe you could make that font a little smaller, sorry for sounding like a moderator, but yes, de-activating your pirate account will de-activate your vmk account. How do I know? I am a victum of this terrible thing. Here is what you do if you are stuck in that position:

Use the Contact us and explain you de-activated your pirate online account, which is connected to all your disney-online accounts, including vmk. Ask them to re-activate your account. It will take 1-2 days, but usually to these types of problems, they get right to it, and not wait a very long time :)

My opinion is that it will most likely be like Toontown. They let you register and when you go to play the game they make you pay after your trial (in this case they may not have a trial). I think that is how Disney works that way. Thats my two cents.

I don't think Disney would be stupid enough to open themselves so easily for a sexism lawsuit. So yes, I can almost confirm without being an insider, there will be female characters :D This game does look great, bu I dunno, I may just stick to World of Warcraft!
