My theory is that Barbossa (since he gets ressurected) he is going to revive his pirate crew from the depths. And Barbossa and Davy Jones will be in a battle for the soul of Jack Sparrow. Also, i dont know if this is a huge thing in the 3rd movie, but I think that Will and Elizebeth will have thier marrige canceled. A third thing, the owner of the east india trading co(forgot his name), but since he recieved the heart of davy jones, he is going to control the sea, and he is going to try to wipe out every single pirate that is alive.

Yeah me too ! They should have read the letters in the chest.. But I have a question.. When Davey Jones opened the chest, where were the letters?

Keep a close eye on the lockets that Tia and Davy both have.

Also in the first Tia's Shack scene, take notice of the boots in the backroom.

If you watch the credits at the end of the first movie you see Jack the monkey go into the cave where Will cut himself and put his blood on the coin to turn Barbossa Mortal to kill him well the monkey goes back in the cave steals the coin from the chest and tries to revive him.

In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, they were talking about POTC2 and gave a short preview of POTC3. There were some things that I already knew and things that I did not know. Anyways, this is what they said;

"The concluding chapter of the Pirates trilogy, reportedly subtitled At World's End is still being filmed, but Verbinski offers some hints as to where the story will sail. In broad thematic terms, he says, 'Piracy itself is at stake. It's like the railroad is coming to the west.' Specifically, the film will delve deeper into the backstory of Davy Jones- 'he's a tragic figure, who's been devestated by love,' says Nighy- while also bringing the unfolding romantic drama between Will and Elizabeth to a climax. 'They realize love is something that hurts,' Verbinski says, 'and there are things they have to overcome if the relationship is to last.' I think that Jack is in Davy Jones locker because after the kraken killed him it shows Elizibeth and Will in Tia's shack.When they all say they will go to the end of the earth to save jack she says that they will need a captain to take them there that knows how to get there.Then barbossa comes out.So i think when he died in the first movie he went to Davy Jones locker and he somehow got out..In the next movie i think that they will go to Davy Jones locker and save jack

what's really the point of davey returning, if they already have his heart?

on top of that, he cant retrieve the heart on his own, he can only go on land once every 10 years


so, for my guess, davey will be able to step on land in POTC3.

Also, i think pirates will be coming to an end (piracy) and stuff such as samarai warriors come into play. Furthermore, i think the voodoo doll of Jack Sparrow, seen on some pictures, and disney sites for POTC2, will be involved somehow to bring back Jack Sparrow.

My mom is sick right now, but she said if she gets better, we can go with my friends to see POTC2:DMC! Yay! But, uh, i havent watched the first one yet. I dont care.

i think that Jack killed the kraken (sp?) by sticking that sword down his throat so he is alive. Jack is 1 of the main character's in the movie, he didn't die :D

bascically jack was killed so they brought back barbossa, who knows how to sail/be captain of a ship, so he can help them travel to the ends of the earth to bring back jack. along the way, many events happen throughout the movie, including some things with ...being a samarai (i have the picture on another thread for pirates, located in disney gossip or offtopic)!

on top of that, i explained many things that should be going on in POTC#, including davey jones not only facing them on water, but on land ...

I don't remember where I read it, it was a while ago and before the second movie was in theaters, so that could have changed, but I am pretty sure that Asian Pirate(s) are involved.

Ah, what kind of run in did ol' Jack have with Chow Feng (i think that is his name) also Tiara_grl East Indian Trading compant had a very small mention in the first pirates ( Norrington: Ah you had a run in with the East Indian Trading Compant I see) at the beginning of the movie and a larger part in the second. In the second Lord Cutler Beckett is from the East Indian Trading Company.

According to actor Martin Klebba's official website, the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End. Klebba plays the character Marty in the original Pirates of the Caribbean and the two sequels which are now being filmed back to back.

Could the title mean that the plot has something to do with the end of the world, or that they're on a quest to find the literal world's end? Could be interesting...

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is the third part of the trilogy begun by the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, following the 2006 film Dead Man's Chest. It is directed by Gore Verbinski, and stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Mackenzie Crook and several other actors from the first two films. You don't know that he's a star of the movie. the part of Jack Sparrow's father could in fact be a very small one.

I don't have any spoilers but i can't wait until the third comes out. within about 24 hours I've seen the movie twice.

I recently went to the El Capitan theater in Hollywood to see Pirates 2 (again :P) and after the movie they let you see props from the movie. Well they had the box that contained the letters from the box they got the chest from. They had one letter open. I only read the top and it said:

My beloved Calypso, (end of what i read)


The original title for the movie was Calypso's Fury. Calyspo is also one religion's godess of the sea (i believe). Many believe believe Tia Dalma to be a form of Calypso.

I think that based on the costume he is wearing that Jack is still alive in the Kraken and because of its previous injurys that it does not return to Davey Jones.The Kraken is dieing because of the wound from Jack's sword when he was eaten.the Kraken goes as far as possible,(China) and dies.When it dies Jack manages to escape......

Seeing as parts 2 and 3 were being shot at the same time, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to believe this is an actual image from the third installment. They've already planned a May something 2007 release. And I see NO WAY for that image to be photoshopped... >.>

The picture has been confirmed as a fake all over the internet, you can do a google search to see for yourself.
The picture of Jack in the costume is extremely grainy around the head, which is common in fake pictures, and the hand holding the sheathed weapon looks as though it was holding something much bigger before it was edited out.

People relax it is a fake. Like the other people have said. It is a fake. You can especially see on his right hand (left hand in the picture). You can tell that the gold on his hand was made in photoshop.

I mean, all the promo posters for Dead Man's Chest consisted of shots of the cast from the first film photoshopped to make them look a bit different... The Elizabeth poster took two different shots from the first film's photo shoot and pieced them together--one for her head, the other for her neck down.

So, even if these photos (yes, I said it plural--there are at least 6 or 7 different angles, both close up and farther away, of Jack in this costume) were photoshopped, it doesn't mean it wasn't by Disney.

Plus, there are reports from people who were at Comic-Con and saw the footage who said they caught a glimpse of Jack in this costume--and they specified it was this particular costume, as these photos have been going around the 'Net for probably 2 or more months now.

And of course there's the fact that our resident insider at Keep to the Code has his hands on a later draft of the PotC3 script... and he's hinted very heavily that this is for real. In fact, as he's a Depp character cosplayer, he's a Jack Sparrow impersonator.... And he takes a LOT of time, effort, and MONEY to make his costumes as true to the screen costumes as possible.

And he debuted his newest costume at Comic-Con: this AsianJack costume.

Joy Well, The girl in the house on the lake near the end, has said that in order to find Jack Sapprow and his ship, ye have to sail to the end of the earth and beyond, so if they are near either England or the Caribbean islands, the other side of the Earth would be Asian! The third movie is coming out next Summer because while the demand is still high and before people start focusing on the flaws of the movie, Disney must pop a few more bucks out of the series! :D

I think it is fake, because usually pictures that are photoshopped make the picture all fuzzy-like. Which it is. Also, where is he sticking his sword (the one he is holding) ? Into cloth? It just doesn't look real.

Yeah, turns out it's a fake... In fact, it turns out that they were made by the Jack Sparrow impersonator I talked about in my previous post... He had designed the costume himself (albeit inspired by the real costumes for Chow Yun-Fat and Keira Knightley in PotC3) and thought he'd photoshop some pics to see what Johnny would look like in the costume. But then someone found the pics in his website folders, thought they were for real, then spread them around the 'net.

He couldn't say anything about it, though, 'cause he was saving his costume as a surprise to debut at Comic-Con. But now that Comic-Con is done, he was able to come out and clear things up.

So, yeah, all those images of Johnny!Jack in the Asian costume are actually photoshopped pics of Toby (aka SithCamaro) in the costume he designed himself. And the pics were made by him.

LOL, that's what happened to me too! The projector just went off...it was supposed to be daytime, but the screen was dark. I didn't notice it, my aunt and uncle told me later.

Those of us in movie news land are already gearing up for part three. A new picture of Johnny Depp[/URL] as Captain Jack Sparrow has surfaced online and some believe this is the first image from Pirates 3 (rumored to be called World's End).

Seeing as parts 2 and 3 were being shot at the same time, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to believe this is an actual image from the third installment. In it, Captain Jack is wearing some bizarre warrior outfit that appears to be asian-inspired. It looks pretty neat and certainly pumps me up for more Pirates of the Caribbean this July.

edit: idk if cowboys/western theme will start to take over in POTC3, but it is a possibilty. however, this samarai-like thing is also possible, and there are some asian characters in POTC3. Anyways, I don't know if you guys knew this yet, but Dead Man's Chest and World's End were suppose to be one movie. The reason why they're not together because the movie would be about 5 hours. I don't know many people who can sit through that (Including me, unless the movie is really good!) If the movies were together, we would probably know what ever happened to Captain Sparrow!

Anyways, Disney would make way more money if they seperate the movies. They are done with the 3rd movie and it is coming out 2007. (I bet a lot of you know about this already)

I can explain the chinese warrior suit. At one point in POTC 3, chinese pirates play some sort of role in the movie (including a famous martial-arts star). That's all I know about that. Also, about a month before the release of POTC 2 , 85 pages of script from POTC 3 were leaked onto the internet. Before POTC 2 was released, most people who read the leaked small portion of script didn't believe it to be real... that was until Pirates 2 was released and they realized it was more real than they thought.

Also, just to clear up the Barbosa coming back deal... Tia Dalma raised Barbosa from the dead and because she did that, Barbosa promised to do any favor for her. She requested that he would help get jack sparrow back from worlds end.

A new character appears in the movie, I currently do not know her name. As knowing the character in some form or way, knowledge has been brought to me that she speaks in rhyme only. In one scene (Warning: EXTREEEEME SPOILAGE IN FOLLOWING TEXT), she is actually in some formal suit or outfit, where Captain Jack is in a scruffy childish outfit. As Captain Jack jump-ropes with a jump rope (yes indeed, he is jump-roping.), the girl says something like "Are you, Captain Jack, accusing me of being a child?" or something like that, then she writes on a piece of paper. (EXTREEEEME SPOILAGE WARNING ENDS)

I am so confused abpout how Barbossa came back. We watched him die, yet he can still eat an apple. jack isn't allowed to die, he is the main character. Imdb shows that he is still in the movie, he plays a part. Will Will (heh) and Elizabeth get married? So many questions!

There was an extra scene after the credits of POTC1, where it showed the treasure cave and Barbossa's monkey swimming to the aztec treasure. The monkey picked up the treasure and became cursed again. So, I'm assuming that the monkey gave him the coin too. The monkey is loyal to his master, after all. :)

Actually, yes, Tia Dalma DID bring Barbossa back. Before the monkey took the coin in the end-credit scene of CotBP, the curse was completely lifted off everyone. When the monkey took the coin, he only put the curse into effect on himself. One cannot be brought under the curse except by stealing a coin straight from the chest. Since Barbossa was already dead, there is no possible way that the monkey could have brought him back.

Tia Dalma did indeed bring Barbossa back.

And yeah, the Asian!Jack costume, though fictional, is based in truth. Toby based his Jack costume (a completely original, non-movie-related design) on the costumes he'd seen for Chow Yun Fat and Keira Knightley. So, it isn't that you can use the two released photos (which show Chow and Keira in Asian costume) as proof that the Jack costume is real, it's that you can use those photos as proof that Toby had some inspiration with his design... The Sao Feng and Elizabeth Disney-created costumes came first, then the independently-created Jack costume came later.

The PotC: AWE release date in the US is May 25, 2007.

Rumor has it that a teaser trailer could be seen as early as mid-January.

An image surfaced of Keith Richards done up as Teague Sparrow, but that image will be hard for you to find as Disney had it taken down. But I must say, they did a GOOD job of making Keith look like Jack's dad!

There are two different versions of the script leaked. The first leaked several months ago and it was the first 56 pages of the production budget script... meaning that it was more of an outline of settings etc. to give the studio an idea of what to allott to the budget.

Recently, a 30-odd page version was leaked. It was the first pages of a more recent draft, though apparently even that one has had things changed (I think the date for it was this past January).

There are photos out there of Jack with Scarlett and Giselle in his arms... That ending has been cut. Or, at the very least, it is no longer the ending of PotC3.

If you want to find out more substantiated spoilers, Disney has an official fan club website called Keep to the Code. The forum on there has a subforum called Speculations & Spoilers... That's where you can find the most extensive collection of spoilers that are rooted in truth.

Ok, you guys want spoiler? Here's a large chunk of script information.

Barbossa, Elizabeth, bring a tied up guy (Will) to Sao Feng and the Dragon Lady,
they find out their being tricked and that to tied up guy is Will. Big fight scene, will ends up being given these scrolls with coordinates of how to find jack. They sail away in a junk with tia dalma. Beckett and Norington or whatever his name is are now in control of the flying dutchman, they make them find pirate ships and enslave their crews as they build a large fleet. Something happens that has to do with a steam engine. Barbossa, Will, and Elizabeth continue sailing, they fall over the edge of the world, jack is in a vast desert with the pearl, some crabs help him carry the pearl to the water, jack is saved, they sail away. Ok now for a part you can actually see in the moviesurfers clip. If you watch, it will come to a part where all the crew is running from one side of the boat to another. They are doing it to overturn the boat and get to the other side of the world. They continue sailing until they find an island, the kraken is dead on the beach, the chinese pirates along with sao feng show up, they take elizabeth and let the others go, sao feng tells a story to elzabeth in his cabin, sao feng gets killed, elizabeth becomes captain, the flying dutchman with it's captain "Norington" capture the ship, he sees elizabeth and stuff, he eventually lets them go and they get back on their ship. Bootstrap kills norington. Now everyone is sailing to a "Pirate Gathering". Oh and governor swann is killed.

I know that may have been hard to follow but basically that is the story:pirate:

Anyway, back on topic...

I heard the chinese pirate in the new movie orginates from Singapore. Anyone else see a connection back to the 1st movie? This happend after saving Elizabeth when she almost drowed toward the beginging.

Well, Jack did shoot him but if you see, when Jack is leaving the cave you can see in the back the treasure chest is closed and Barbossa is not near it.

After the credits, you see the monkey running to the chest, passing near Barbossa (who is now close to the chest) and the chest is open. So it's probable that he wasn't dead after all and crawled to the chest and opened it.

If he didn't open the chest then there is a big mistake in the movie. (Like Joe Black eating the shrimps and the eating another thing)

Of course that doesn't explain how he ended in Tia's house (maybe he was visiting because he wanted to know about the Pearl? IDK)

At the end of Dead Man's Chest, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and their company find refuge with Tia Dalma, who offers the opportunity to embark on a journey to rescue Captain Jack Sparrow from his watery grave. Tia Dalma announces the need for a captain that will guide them to "World's End", prompting the appearance of Captain Barbossa, believed to have been dead. The second film ended there.

My info comes from reliable insider information that is constantly posted on the Keep to the Code forums, the official PotC fansite.

So far, the only images that have been posted around that are not real are the ones of Jack in an Asian costume; and I know that for sure because I'm acquainted online with the guy who made the costume & photos.

And it's absolutely for sure that Barbossa was NOT brought back via the curse. I can't give any direct links or quotes, but the writers have said several times that only the monkey is re-cursed.

Yeah me too ! They should have read the letters in the chest.. But I have a question.. When Davey Jones opened the chest, where were the letters?

I don't. I know for sure they're real; the concept images came from a site that is well-known for getting real leaks, and the live-action production photos were sourced to a person who has brought us hi-res production stills in the past.

So, nope, I don't think that what you posted is fake. The only "fake" stuff is the Asian!Jack photos.

Except for cutting out scenes (such as the scene with Jack and the strumpets that was filmed way back at the same time they were beginning DMC), the film's not going to change. Now, yeah, it's gonna have differences from the 56-page and 32-page script leaks, 'cause the 56-pager was a production budget outline more than a script, and the 32-pager was from a revision in January '06.

Reshoots just finished last week, so the film is done (except for, of course, editing and CG and score).

So, storywise, everything's set in stone.

And honestly, one cannot call the live-action images fake... We know that those are the real actors in real costumes on real sets.

The concept art, yes, probably represents very early ideas that may have changed over the production. But from all the spoilers we've gotten, it seems the concepts drawn haven't changed much.

Well, we are a less than 24 hours away from the first showings of the movie. Since we are getting close, I figured it would be helpful if i made a discussion thread that now contains spoilers, so all of us who want to know about it and saw the movie, can discuss it.

I just found out that the trailer for National Treasure 2 will be shown before the Movie.

i was reading on one of those sites that can be sent to you through an email by disney that the waterfall in the movie is some-what based off of the part in the ride where u encounter a waterfall in a cavern, and then at the end you see nightmares turn to reality...a.k.a., the ransacking pirates. Something like that.

Also, I'm also going to see it at 8pm tomorrow!

I didn't seen it yet, but my brother has. He went yesterday (in the most of Europe, he's out since tuesday at night (local time)) and he liked the movie. Some parts of the movie were really cool, he told me. I think i'll go this week-end :)

Just got back from watching and wow sorry but I cannot tell you how disappointed I was.
It seemed like a 3 hour long movie with nothing really to it.
The part where they rescue Jack---What the?! What just happened?
I won't lie there were parts I was watching and had no idea what was going on. Part one is still the best in my opinion.

I really feel that this movie was rushed, it could have easily been made into two separate movies with a lot more details and information. Nothing was really explained as well as we'd of hoped, but I did love seeing Tia Dalma having a somewhat big role.

All in all, I strongly feel that this movie was better than the last, but not as good as the first.

I thought it was really good, but it was however some-what disappointing. Although the beginning and ending is great, the whole middle (and u gotta remember the entire movie is about 2 hours and 45 minutes long), is pretty much just talking. The talking wasnt bad, they managed to entertain us, but it was a little bit of a let down.
Weird, all "part 3's" for the movies that came out this month seemed to not do as good as expected...but pirates beat them all.

And so ends a good trilogy....

End of a trilogy.. doubt it, they did set it up for a forth movie pretty well.

It just seemed to me to be too much "Magic" and not enough "Pirate".

That movie was so RADICAL!!!

I was disappointed as well, and I wanted so bad to love it. I tried. The first is still my favorite. The second film was left wide open and the third did not contain the closure I so craved.

Ok, I simply loved it. So many twists and turns, that if you weren't paying attention, just skipped you by.

We weren't able to figure everything out until just a few minutes before it happened.

While the first will always be the best IMO, cause it was the first, this held up well. MUCH better than X-3 or Spidey 3.

Wow, Davy Jones look like a sailer without his heartless form, Davy Jones Locker seems to be like a whole different dimension, Jack sure has a lot of funny clones toying with his mind, Bootstrap's mind is totally with the Flying Dutchman, why didn't Becken abandon ship, well he's dead now so yippie, and the beggining had people getting hanged, uhh ok. Some way to start a pirate movie, Jack's father is so mysterious since nobody else but Jack clarified that it was his father, Jack's mother is a head now, Tia turned into a giant and turned into millions of crabs and caused a maelstorm, so Elizibeth is like going to wait 10 years everytime in the island to see Will? Waste of time. Did that guy eat his toe? Jack (the monkey) is pretty funny lol. Wow that Kraken eye is big. Seriously, Davy Jone's locker seems to be like a whole different Dimension, but since Will is the new captain of the Flying Dutchman, do we call it William Turner's Locker now?

(brain hurts) That reminds me, the Coral Jack duplicate lost his brain.

But still I loved the movie. It was exciting! (I guess you pack all the action into one big whirlpool)

yea i told my friends to stay and watch the end credits with me..and they were pretty mad because everyone else left. But they kept thanking me after we saw that last part....this was a great movie, and i think there will be a fourth one..

I saw the midnight showing last night at the El Capitan. The first one is still by far the best. :) This one was a little confusing for me. Although most things are at 3:00 in the morning. Still...a must see.

I heard that it is official that there is going to be a fourth movie. Johnny Depp already signed the contract, Orlando is in the waiting. But I'm not sure about Keira Knightly still.. They weren't expecting a fourth movie, but they are still doing it.

It was absolutely brilliant when they use the Pirate music from the ride! I also love the fact that there are lines from it.
I don't see how they can't make a movie, I mean Will as the new Davy Jones, and Elizabeth, Tia Dalma. Yeah, they have to. I liked that they also put lots of humor in it, to brighten up with witty Jack Sparrow during the time of serious parts.
I just saw it like 40 minutes ago, I am still trembling with the suprising twist in the story. And yet, I'm seeing it again!
I liked how Will and Elizabeth get married and how Barbossa did it in the middle of a huge fight.

I thought it was "all" together during the movie, but I looked it up, and it said "haul" and isn't it bones instead of bonds? Well, I am not sure, just making sure=D haha.

The movie, while a tad tiring, was rockin`! I loved it, but I feel bad for those who died. *darn Elizabeth and her Kiss of Death* LOLOLjk.

Is there an exact date as to when the DVD for this movie will come out? I have a gut feeling my parents won't be bringing me to the movie theater anytime soon, and I need to update my POTC DVD collection (although I only have Dead Man's Chest). Just curious.

I really think they could have done better with Tia Dalma being a goddess. The scene wasn't all that detailed. She gets bigger and has a deep voice that is hard to understand, ooh aah. I had guessed that Tia Dalma was Davy Jones' lover.

I was really upset when Norrington died. I always loved him! He was my favorite character.

I was searching around online and found some interesting info on the POSSIBLE 4th movie. (May contain Spoilers)

I read that they were planning to Kill off Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), now that he can only see everyone every ten years. Kiera Knightly said she's been on this crew since she was, supposidly, 17 (she's now 21). Now, she doesn't want to participate in any more sequals. I guess the only big star is Johnny Depp, who said he still wants to do more sequals.

It would be nice to have a 4th movie, but at the same time, I doubt that it will measure up to the first three movies. I mean, Keira's not going to do any more sequels, and she's one of the main characters!

Yeah, and If they kill of Orlando... Only Barbossa, Jack, and their crew are back. Don't forget they killed off the EIT Comany, Tia Dalma, and Davey Jones too.

They also killed off Barbossa in part one and Sparrow in part two, but that didn't stop them for long.

Well, I don't think Sparrow counts. I mean, they were literally TELLING us that Sparrow was going to be back. They all said "Aye" (with the exception of Elizabeth, because she said "yes") when Tia asked them if they were willing to go.

Someone told me that since his true love [Elizabeth] waited for him through all those years, he gets to stay with her and he doesn't have to go back onto the ship. So it doesn't make any sense that they would kill him since he can stay.

And if you're going to ask me how do I know she stayed, you should have stayed.. for the credits! :D
