The "prizes" were nearly impossible to win! If you did win one, you don't get your prize as of yet! The questions from yavn were great and all, but WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US WHO DIDN'T GET A CHANCE to be in the same room much less even have a SHOT at answering a question! *whew* please ignore my ranting! Saragirl 06-19-2005, 12:39 AM I'll pearost my suggestions: * Don't advertise it as a 'parade' if there's no parade. * Scavenger hunts for a random person among thousands of instanced rooms don't work. Next time, try "take photographs of these areas given these clues". * If something goes wrong in a Beta, it's not a bad idea to PM the game with "due to circumstances beyond our control..." * Please, please, please, please, please... communicate with your playerbase. I think I can speak for the twenty odd people in the instance I was stuck in that the level of boredom waiting for SOMETHING to happen half an hour after the event 'started' was nearly toxic. ANYTHING would have been welcome. You said it all... Wish I had known... SGT623 06-19-2005, 12:41 AM It sucked and blew at the same time. Marina 06-19-2005, 01:24 AM yea VMK_Dinky made us stay in a line the whole time she said stay untill shes back it ***** man! KrazyChik 06-19-2005, 03:53 AM You all need to have a better frame of mind about the whole thing..It is also over and done with and you can not do anything about it...You are only let down if your expectations of this parade were VERY HIGH...The scavenger hunt was fun though..I am sorry for those of you who could not win and therefore have to say it was a horrible waste of time :) GreatGatsby 06-19-2005, 04:00 AM Actually, there are simply not enough choices for this to be a true poll, so it's really not worth paying attention to. shiregirl 06-19-2005, 04:19 AM You all need to have a better frame of mind about the whole thing..It is also over and done with and you can not do anything about it...You are only let down if your expectations of this parade were VERY HIGH...The scavenger hunt was fun though..I am sorry for those of you who could not win and therefore have to say it was a horrible waste of time :) I for one WAS disappointed, but not winning prizes had absolutely nothing to do with my feelings at all. I doubt all the people who have been venting on these threads are all such poor losers, and that this is the reason why they have expressed their frustrations. You are right: the reason I was disappointed was I did have high expectations. Floats! Characters! Music! Dancing! lol! Silly me. :) Maybe someday... This event was not a huge waste of time, either. At least not for me. I got to spend a good 2 hours with some poeple who I rarely get to see, and I think we had a lot of fun talking and waiting. Here's a pic of the room I was in: Main Street West http://img170.echo.cx/img170/4359/thegenieseyesareclosed42minute.jpg (http://www.**************) Hey everyone from Main Street West! Hope I can do this with you all again sometime! lol Also, I am only too willing to do these types of things if it will help Yavn and Co. make this game even better. I think most people here would agree with that. I hope that we can all continue to use these boards to express our feelings be they negative or positive. :D FlyThenFall 06-19-2005, 05:09 AM I think everyone just reached their boiling point very fast when it came this. It sounded like it was going to be amazing, a full on party EVERYWHERE. When your party becomes talking to no one while waiting behind 10 people to get into a VMK room (even worse than KrazyChik's Closing parties!) to only find out nothing at all has happened, you get pretty angry. There weren't enough people were quieted by free stuff. :P Chele 06-19-2005, 05:10 AM It felt like a complete waste of time. The cast member had us line up 30 minutes after it was supposed to start. But she couldn't tell us why. The next thing I know, the VMK announcement popped up saying to start the scavenger hunt. A little bit of direction would have been nice. Clues, something. Alexander 06-19-2005, 05:33 AM Parade? What parade? Oh you mean our march in a line to the next room thing? No, not really all that happy about it. Not mad either. Just disappointed. But I've said all that already. It was A SCAM of some kind ---- no parade  Maleficent2 06-19-2005, 02:26 PM You all need to have a better frame of mind about the whole thing..It is also over and done with and you can not do anything about it...You are only let down if your expectations of this parade were VERY HIGH...The scavenger hunt was fun though..I am sorry for those of you who could not win and therefore have to say it was a horrible waste of time Ditto to Shiregirl's response to this. You are right it is over and done with, but we can do something about it. That afterall is the whole point in BETA something that has been forgotten I think by those just saying let it go. I agree I will let it go but I also feel that Yavn needs to hear and read the negative press about this event. Giving out freebees to a few who were "lucky" enough to get back into the game after being booted and to be in the same palce as him does not make it better. I was really looking forward to this event, bought film, and waited with friends only to have 7pm come and out I was not to get back in until 2 hours later by which time this event was just a bad memory. By that time I had had enough. Today I am taking a break from the game. Spending time with my family. Oh and Mr.Lunatix you said another event was in the planning Boy I just can not wait  Mal KrazyChik 06-19-2005, 02:59 PM You are right it is over and done with, but we can do something about it. I honestly think that ALL of the cast members AS well as Yavn has heard the so called negative feedback on this event....There are about a tons of posts on this site...And this isn't even half of the VMK players...Not to mention all the people actually on the game...I just found something...Just one little thing to be happy about the whole night and that is what makes it all good for me :D Chele 06-19-2005, 03:27 PM I honestly think that ALL of the cast members AS well as Yavn has heard the so called negative feedback on this event....There are about a tons of posts on this site...And this isn't even half of the VMK players...Not to mention all the people actually on the game...I just found something...Just one little thing to be happy about the whole night and that is what makes it all good for me :D You're right. I was very upset about last night; but, I am so over it now. Part of it was my own stupidity of hitting the wrong button and exiting Central Plaza and then getting stuck in line to get back in while the Scavenger Hunt started. The popup came up just as I was permitted into the room so it popped up and popped off before I could really read it to understand what was going on. I understand that it was a new concept to test out in Beta and that there is a learning curve in everything. There was a lot of fun in line dancing, wearing Goofy Hats and doing a wave of a wave. And, I met a lot of nice people. Bottom line, it was a great idea and I'm looking forward to future scheduled events. Thank you VMK cast members -- keep up the great work! SallySally 06-20-2005, 01:07 AM I honestly think that ALL of the cast members AS well as Yavn has heard the so called negative feedback on this event.... You can't be serious. As far as I am concerned, the VMK cast members and creators need to hear every single person tell them EXACTLY what they felt about the event, and exactly what they feel about the game. This is beta. The whole point of beta is for the game creators to listen to the players, fix problems, and create a game worth playing. If they can't respond to what hundreds of players are saying, then it is obvious that they just don't care about the people playing their game. And that is really sad. I have to agree with an earlier post, and elaborate: Don't call it a "parade" if it is just "follow the leader", and when people start asking "Is this the parade?" have the guts to tell them "Yes" instead of ignoring them. Ignoring your players is RUDE. If I had known that WAS the "parade", I would have gotten up and joined in, and had my two kids and my sweet husband join in as well (my sweet Odin, who spent several hours friday night setting up FOUR computers in our dining room just for the event so the whole family could play together). Instead, silly Sally, I sat there with my VMK camera and waited for something that just didn't happen, and my poor husband was so disillusioned at the LACK of Disney Magic that he was speechless save the words "I spent my whole night setting up a network for THIS?". Wake up, VMK. It isn't just SallySally and her Dictionary Debate room anymore. MOST players are disillusioned beyond reason now, and expect to see some Disney Magic real quick. Beta is over next month. I hope what you have planned is good enough to make up for this utter disaster. UltraByte 06-20-2005, 01:14 AM You can't be serious. I actually wasn't listening to the Cast Member when they came into the game room I was in. I was too into the trivia (answer was Red Fairy. I won! ^_^) to listen. System of a Down 06-20-2005, 10:23 AM Well, I really don't have to complain seeing how I wasn't even on VMK (Do to my trip) So, looking at all the negitive feedback, I really didn't miss anything, did I? Masterbob 06-20-2005, 02:01 PM i never even went to it, but it sounded bad, so i guess i dint miss anything |
