That game is pure evil.

I don't know what they were thinking when they made the odds to get a costume 1/5000 (that's what I've heard it is anyways). I know they're trying to keep it rare and everything, but that's just ridiculous! I've been playing that game for hours every day and I still have never gotten that costume.. I'm not even really playing it for the costume anymore, I'm just playing it so I can beat it and all those hours were not just thrown out the window.

Partly off topic:
I dont think disney has made this quite right how do they expect any kids to get this i mean come on over 3,000 No way more like 100 or 50 even if there are adults who can get it but kids cant stay up that late.. just trying to make a point it seems really wrong.

Lets all send messages to vmk complaining about the 1 in 5000 chance of getting the costume. They might talk to whoever is responsible and we can all get this problem fixed.

I actually have the Captain Jack Sparrow Costume from the Plunder game on the original. God blessed me with that, but I want to know when the coat less costume comes out?? Think they'll wait till this December when the movie is on DVD or till Halloween?? This is so mind numbing:poison:

When are they teaching us patience? When we try for days to get this costume? Or when we waste 30 minutes just trying to get in QUEUE for one of their host games?

The thing they are really teaching us is life is not fair rather than learning it later in life.

Life can not be fair because everyone is different.

Also they are teaching us determination to not give up.

How do you get patience out of putting in 4,999, which in turn wastes of few HOURS of your life, and then right when you see the light at the end of the tunnel, someone snatches the costume away from you, and the most clever thing the HOST's of VMK can think of is " Just be patient ".
Yea I mean its only 2,000 codes I think we can all handle putting in 2,000 codes! Ugh that is the most bothersome thing I have ever heard. " Just be patient " If i was patient i would have already put in hundreds among thousands of codes! Im sure if VMK staff were put in the same situation they would be equally as mad.
Get real. I doubt anyone has the time to be " patient " with putting in thousands of codes.VMK staff must think people are NPC's or something. . .

I don't see where you're getting at with the whole "teaching us life is not fair" thing. I don't think that the game is unfair. Just ridiculous.

And I suppose they are teaching us determination....... I am very determined not to throw my computer out the window.

I learn a lot of these wonderful life lessons outside of computerland.. I go on the computer & play VMK to have fun, not to have some supposed lesson I can learn from any boy meets world or full house episode stuffed down my throat.

VMK_Eagle told me that you don't get the suit from the game though...so I'm just wondering...did anyone get the costume from the game?

07-11-2006, 04:25 AM
i just think my time is worth something. i would surely stay up all night for 15 nights in a row to get 5,000 codes, but i cant because the game is just too slow! it seems like it takes a minute between each level, then you gotta click the stuff and sometimes the links dont work, then you gotta go to the map. i mean, at least the narnia game was fast...i'm not liking this game anymore...

i'm not getting to mad becuase im still holding out for the other costume that we should possibly be able to buy. I still want that costume tho.. Arrrr

I'm at a measly 1025 codes and no Sparrow Costume. A friend of mine is over 2000 and other friends have hundreds more. I know no one with the costume. I agree that the game is driving me insane, not teaching me determination or patience. It's slow, bug filled and not very entertaining. As another writer mentioned, at least Narnia was fast to get through.

I sent a complaint letter to VMK about my overall frustration with Pirates Month (various promises, few results and complaining about this "game"). I got a response from "Joan" in "VMK Operations" who confirmed the 1/5000 odds are in fact correct. I asked if this ridiculous percentaged could be lowered to a more reasonable range (or even something like 1 in 1000) and her reply was "Not at this time." I also begged for any other pirate costume but that was also replied with a "Not at this time."

Basically she apologized saying that they just can't please everyone. Heh. There you go.

I still get codes, but I can't see straight when entering them anymore. So I'm down to about 10-20 a day. I keep thinking that if I stop then the other 1000 codes will just have been a waste of time. Besides, the costume could be on the next code. Ha. Haha. Muah-hahahaha... ha. heh. Hee hee. >drool< ha ha hee hee ho ho - They're coming to take me away!!

wow, you people must be fast @_@ I can only get about 5 codes an hour..
I must be slow.. I dont even have 20, and I have still spent hours on that game! Narnia game was faster adn easier, and this one gets so tedious!

I cant belive VMK made the odds 1/5000 Why? I mean 1/10 is more reasonable. maybe even 1/5 But no, they make it the HARDEST they can by making it 1/5000. What do they expect us to do, stay up all night long gettting codes? I have a LIFE. I play VMK but I cant spend all day on that pirate game getting codes.

And if staff gets enough complaints they might just make it higher..

Like 1/10000, or 1/100,000,000, or even 1/1,000,000,000 or even this..

1/100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000

That would be IMPOSSIBLE

(Im sorry if I flamed or offendend anybody, I was ranting on staff)

From what I have heard (please correct me if I'm wrong), the Sparrow costume is won for each 5000th Pirate code entered in VMK. That is why less than 2% of us are walking around with them. :( :banghead: :bawling:

07-14-2006, 12:09 AM
Yea, it is super hard to get. Lets just forget it. Days and days of work aren't worth a virtual item. Besides, there will be other cool costumes.
(By the way, if Host's are trying to teach us patience, they should try getting the costume by playing the game!)

What gets me is you only recieve 5 credits per code. The first couple of days you recieved 50 credits per code, but they changed it. I think you should at least get 25 credits. With all the new stuff coming out 5 credits just not worth the effort.

My friend figured out a trick, and told me.

Once you claim your prize (The code) Press the "Back Wheel" and then when it returns to Daveys boat, press the Dead Mans Chest again, and it'll take you back to the prize page.

If this is not aloud, please tell me, and I'll let my friend know.

But there's a hint anyway.

I haven't been keeping track of how many codes I have put in but it has to be in the thousands. I had a list of codes that I hadn't put in yet and I told myself that if I didn't get the costume when I was done putting these codes in, then I was never going to play again. Guess what? I got a costume!
