SirLancelot 07-05-2006, 02:22 PM Someone keeps finding out my pass and going on and changing, stealing, and selling all my stuff on VMK. Even though it isn't rare stuff he is doing that with he still is messing my account up. I change my pass and he still finds it out. I change my pass and E-Mail I don't know if he will figure it out now or not. I need help is there a way to change your Member name?

Maybe you should make a new character and trade all your main characters items to your new one.
ChrisR 07-05-2006, 02:27 PM i don't think there is... but i changed mine on the disneyland site.. that might have the option.
Tink's Fireworks 07-05-2006, 02:28 PM try using contact us!
SirLancelot 07-05-2006, 02:33 PM I can't make a new character and trade all my stuff over bc I have a quest engine, superhero mask, High school musical room, and Pirate prison room.
Quibbles 07-05-2006, 02:40 PM do what Tink's_Fireworks said and use the Contact Us :)
GeauxTigersGo 07-05-2006, 02:56 PM Do you have a younger brother? ;) This really sounds like someone who knows you and has access to your computer. I doubt someone would use spyware to hack your VMK character, but I guess it is a possibility too.

Becky 07-05-2006, 05:05 PM You know, it might be a key-tracking virus. You know, the viruses that track each and every key you press? Try running your virus program to make sure nobody has hacked into your computer :).

To tell the truth, I told me password to a Community Leader, and one I can trust and he help me beat stuff in VMK and when I got my sparrow outfit I changed my password to the account I use most so he does not got on them. That usually changed my password, just go to Disneyland site or go to Contact us on VMK.
SirLancelot 07-05-2006, 05:15 PM Ok I have a little brother but that hate VMK and won't even go near the computer when I am playing it so it can't be him. Maybe it is a key tracker! I will do a Virus scan right now.
SweepHunter 07-05-2006, 09:35 PM I will PM you the phone number of the main VMK office. I only do this if someone is desperately in need of the number and anyone asking for it will get their PM turned into trash.
VMK needs to look at the IP of the computers being used when you are on. This will tell them if it was your computer meaning someone in your home or if it was somebody else. Batleth did this for someone at this site and showed them that it was from their computer.
If it is your computer then it is time to armor plate your computer and lock the door and protect your computer.
If it is outside your computer then you may have a virus or bug that is copying your information.
Either way you need to have you computer daily cleaned of temporary files and checked for Trojans, virus, key loggers, and more. Sorry but it is very long and opinions on what products to use can at time get rather heated. There are great free programs and pay to use programs. You cannot rely on one program as you need several types to cover all the different types of bugs.
Make sure you computer can be locked so only you and parents can use it. Use passwords that are easy to remember but difficult to decipher like maryhasgreenpizza or mybrothereatsokra. Make sure nobody has access to you ESPN, Disney, ABC, or other Disney sites. You are the same person at each Disney site except Toon Town. Check to make sure you do not have an automated fill in program. VMK Pal has you password and if your brother were to use Pal then changing the pass word would not help.

It's called a phiser. Make sure you're logging into the www.vmk.com log in, if not you're risking your account. VMK Pal is always the www.vmk.com log in.
SweepHunter 07-05-2006, 10:09 PM Good call Schmoofy. I have seen a fake Neopets site and a fake K-Mart site. There may be a fake VMK log in page that looks just like the real VMK site. With your mouse put the arrow on the page you have been logging into and right click, go to properties which will tell you the actual URL for the site. Click on your tool bar, View, and then check out Privacy Report. At this site you see many URLs but all say VMK Forums or Google.
SirLancelot 07-05-2006, 11:40 PM I figured out the problem it was with VMK pal someone had there computer VMK pal keylocked with mine so sadly I am not to be using VMK pal anymore. :(
