I got a question that's been kinda bugging me. Is vmk gonna celebrate 4th of July? I mean can they even, because not only americans play vmk. What do you think they're gonna do if anything?

They might but when i am on during the 4th of July i am having a Fireworks Marathon. I am going to Play Fireworks all day to celebrate the 4th.

I really hope they dont. Canada had a celebration, 2 actually, and VMK never did anthing. England and Scotland, and some of Mexico, and alot of other english speaking areas had celebrations too. Well, VMK DOES have a Main Street, U.S.A. just like the actual parks...key word U.S.A.

So maybe just in Main Street will be 4th stuff.

Yea but VMK missed some American holidays too. They released different pins during Christmas. They did Halloween, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, St Patricks Day, and Christmas ( including the holidays other than Christmas). I just have to say VMK is pretty much only celebrates things that everyone does. I have not seen just an American holiday day.

So there was a best guest room. I am not going to flame but i am going to give you some advice. When those holidays come around. You should make a room and invite your friends over to celebrate. I do not celebrate any of those but i would glady come by and celebrate it. VMK is not trying to do just America. Like with the Disney parks they incorrporated different things from different parks. I think you should make a room for all those other holidays and invite people to come and celebrate.

Think about it. If you lived in another country and didn't have any of your country's personal holidays celebrated on VMK, would you want AMERICA to have one celebrated and make discrimination? "I don't think..." that you would want that, WOULD YOU?

Even though I am in the U.S.A., I really don't want them to celebrate the 4th. this would just cause a huge feud between countries, and most likely get lots of people banned. Good people. Not just the ones that deserve it for doing that stuff every day.

Well on this one site and girl said she was at work and was listening to the radio and they were talking about the 4th of july and she is from canada and it got her mad! She knew she was listening to a USA station then. But its kinda odd to me why she got so mad......i have never been to canda tho @_@ i really want to go there or italy but >_< im not sure if VMK will do anything....but you never know,they did something for christmas and we did not think they would

I think......But the parade that I remember is when staff told everyone on Main Street to get on line and staff said "Here comes the parade!" and the VMK people were the parade. It was a TOTAL rip off, and everyone was really dissipointed.....

In my opinion, I think this post has turned into a flame fest. We don't need a war over who gets to celebrate their country's holiday. And if anyone dares say that Disney and VMK don't do a good job to keep the bonds of the world, they are dead wrong. If you feel that VMK doesn't keep this bond, then go to it's a Small World Imports while you are groaning over how your country can't celebrate. Notice that there is way more than one flag flying on that cruise ship. Disney has worked for years to come up with products to entertain the masses and bring families and friends together. This post rips apart the bonds that VMK is trying to form. I am sure that when Virtual Epcot is released, Yavn and company will work hard on every room, not just the American Adventure. The only reason why that American Flag won was because it was a good design. No doubt that if someone built a German or United Kingdom Flag, they would look at it for Best Guest Room. One last thing.. Yavn isn't an American so why would he be favored to American things??

Wow this is a flame fest. Disney respects all of the countries that is why they have world showcase. They only celebrated one only american holiday on VMK that was memorial day. I think we should stop the flame fest and get back on topic.

Agreed, adventure. The Disney Parks bring magic to the whole world, and so does VMK. That is why VMK was created. So kids from around the world can experience the Parks if they can't go to the real ones. I am originally from Brazil, but I live here in the US. I am glad of what VMK has right now, and it gets better. Remember: Just because they celebrate American holidays, doesn't mean they don't care about the other countries in the world.

I never said specificy that YOU'RE mean. Just saying that your statement was a bit on the mean side. I too, think that VMK should celebrate other holidays for Irish and Canadians and on and on.....I'm Irish, and I don't really know much about their holidays. So I would want to see more of that. And VMK BARELY celebrated any American holidays. Meaning: VMK pretty much didn't celebrate ANY holidays.

I come from england and i have never been to WDW or DLR i love vmk and well the only disneyland park i have been to is disneyland paris many times, and i like what vmk has raised and vmk has made a virtual disneyland so other people that cant go all around the world can enjoy the fun.

Everyone, please calm down. Let's think about this. No offense intended to the countries of the world, but Disneyland is in America. If it was from another country, I would have NO PROBLEM with it celebrating its home country's holidays.
Also, many countries were inspired by the patriots over 200 years ago stating their independence to fight for their own independence. It's not just about recognizing America, it's about recognizing freedom - no matter what country you are in. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal..." And, before another ranting starts, "men" means humankind, all people, even though our country has not always done that.
Finally, this is a game. As long as new stuff keeps coming out, who really cares which holiday? Sure, recognize every holiday we can think of if it means new stuff! :) Right?
After reading some of these posts, Walt Disney must be turning over in his grave. Just take a look at Main Street and I'm sure you'll know his feelings about America.

I was probably composing my post while you were posting. :) I put a lot of thought into saying it the right way, trying to help people think logically.
Also, you didn't mention the historical point. How many countries have used our Constitution or our Declaration of Independence or our Revolution as inpiration for their own? Read your history. Take time out to review all sides. Learn something and better yourself. :)

Ok, I'm going to have my say. I am an American and proud of it. No, I don't think vmk will celebrate the fourth and I think that is sad. I will celebrate the fourth on vmk somehow. If you don't like it, that's ok but don't rain on my parade. Show you love your country and show our soldiers you care. I can guarantee you that if there was a virtual game based off a popular theme park that originated and was located in Canada and the staff was located there...the game WOULD celebrate Canadian Holidays. And I don't think players from other countries would have much of a place to complaine about it.

The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Through the Internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nations, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations.

VMK celebrated St. Patricks day -- Irish correct me if I am wrong
Christmas - can be anyone who celebrates
Valentines Day - anyone
Easter - nothing at all because is was primarily an American holiday
Cananda Day - Canadians - Nothing released
Fourth of July - American Holiday so most likely nothing other than individuals celebrating, which any person can do for their holiday.
Either way people in every country are proud of their country and should be allowed to express their views. It is not up to us to decide what vmk does, I am sure at many different points in our virtual VMK lives we have been offended by something it is " a Game" and we have little choice in the matter unless one of you is staff LOL so it is not up to us, so no sense in fighting or discussing this really. LOL
