Has anyone else noticed that the people that post more are becoming like celebs in vmk? The more you post the more people recanize you and suddenly all these people start saying "hey i know you!" or "i seen you on forums before!" and want to be your friend. Has anyone else relized this.

yes, it has happened to me... even though i only have 900 some posts. I think if your in the 800+ Posters your cool O_o

Well of course that's gonna happen. It'll happen on any forum or fansite like this about some online multiplayer game.

Yeah, I've noticed it a bit. I've had some people come up to me and say things like "Hey, I've read your posts on fan site!", etc. Honestly, I hope this doesn't give spammers any ideas. I don't mind people saying things like that, though.

a little bit....some people on VMK either recognize me on the forums or think i am the billy hill from the show in DLR....i think its that ban that brought people to know me....or maybe not...

I don't mind people doing it either skippy, but it gets repedtive, and annoying if it happens enough

it's kinda cool at first, but then it seems a little "OH MY GOSH I READ MY POSTS ON A WEBSITE TOO!!! LYK LET'S BE FRIENDS!"...pointless to point it out, right?

but i guess it's cool. i used to be able to relate until i stopped playing VMK for a bit ><; but every now and then people bring up a fan site and my membership there :P

Favoritism Posts/Polls

This includes posts that indicates "Who's the best poster, player, toon", etc. These often lead to confrontations when a person expresses a negative opinion about another person.

This also applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, avatars and signatures.

I've had alot of people come up to me saying they've seen me from the site. But mostly I have people coming into my rooms and flooding me with friend requests because I was a community leader. But you get used to it after awhile I guess. Lol, I think pretty much anyone with atleast 500 posts or more are going to get noticed in VMK, I know they're alot of lurkers here on the fansite, so they're probably the people who notice anyone from the forums on VMK. =P

I have had people mention they saw me online somewhere. Who are the top posters here? Not listing all of them but have some examples of top posters and why I think they are such VMK Celebrities.

MrGenie who is a witty fun dude in VMK.
CL_Becky who is helpful, kind hearted and always there for you.
ChrisR who is well liked in VMK for his charming personality.
Schmoofy who helped me get my magic pins and who is well um Schmoofy.

I am on the top 40 posters list also but not as much a celebrity.

Is it because someone is a top poster at any site or because they have personality and a way with people?

Many of the top posters have been in VMK for at least 6 months and some have been there as beta players. Those that I recognize of the top 50 posters are fair traders, have good manners, have a way with people and are liked for who they are. There are top posters at other sites who also are well known and famous but are not top posters here but are VMK Celebrities. Many top posters love the game and have lots of knowledge so they post to help people.

There are many celebrities in VMK who are not top posters at any site like Baby. He does not post much but just say "Baby is in this room" and everyone is messaging their friends with a "Baby alert". He is more famous than some staff and the life of any party in VMK.

I run a quest and have found that not everyone knows certain staff or players. If I were to throw out some names then the people I hang with the most will know that person but in day care and vampires those people are unknown. It depends on what you like to do in VMK.

Helping ppl and being such a good friend is what makes a vmk celebrity.
