We're currently working on getting them to change their title. Since you know, we've had it since everest.

Okay guys. I informed cat of her rooms. Also we better pray that the teleporters and straght ride pieces come out before saturday.

I'll be on all day today, so that means I'll be busy working on my rooms. So far all I have is a skull rock room named "Oh no!" o_-... later I'll have to attempt to get a tent code by looking through the trading post.

But for now, I'm working on "Oh no!".

Hey everyone, my room "Oh no!" has come along great so far. Atleast I think so. I still have alot to do though.

I plan on filling in any empty spaces with the palm tree tops, so it looks like a bunch of small shrubs or something. The only thing I'm stuck on is trying to make it scary, yet colorfull. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to add to the room?

Wellz...my rooms have been going alright :) One room is almost finished (Just needs more track and decorations) and then my other room is barely even half way done >_>; I hope I can manage getting all the things I need =P

My rooms are doing okays too :D I just need more turns for my first room... and a lot more water rugs, track, and palm tree stick things -.-

I can't wait till everyone is finished, and we all get to ride the whole thing. This team is doing awesome so far. :)

Hey everyone, just wanted to say that I may not be as active as usual over the next few days. I was smart and decided to get a new belly button ring to celebrate pirates of the caribbean today. Only problem is I got it pierced last night and now its killing me cause the pirate ring is waaaay too heavy.
Yes, I am sooo smart I know. You think I would have learned from last time when it ripped out but no. So probably for the rest of today and tomorrow[ until i have to actually get up and go to work] i'll be chilling in bed clutching my stomach :)
I was at the mall and just couldn't resist. Sure your supposed to wait 6 months before changing out the ring but its pirates. The whole 'dont change your ring' rule is more of what you would call a guideline. Plus I got an awesome Johnny cardboard cutout to go with my Legolas one.

Hey guys, I think I'm going to need some serious help with my rooms. So far I have half a room... and that's not good. In a week or two I'll be going on ANOTHER week long vacation to the shore, and that means I'll probably have to get everything done before I leave.

I'm beginning to hate these vacations me and my family keep going on. -_-

EDIT-- Okay actually, I just finished 1 room. I still need to add a few things like palm trees to make it look nicer... but I've tried building the other room, and it's really hard for me. I might not start on it for a few days.

I'm double posting, I'm not cool. I'm aware. But let me tell you about my morning.

So I woke up around 8am. Hopped in the shower, threw on some tanning lotion and hooked up my surfboard to my car to have a lovely day at the beach. Before I leave I decided to have a nice glass of water. While having my water I saw the computer and though, hey, lets check my email. So I did and ever to my surprise I saw a nice little mailman sending me some mail. This is what I saw.

And I thought to myself, "Oh, how nifty. VMK wants to tell us we're rejected."
But curiousity got the best of me and I decided to open it and look what I found.
Hello!

Your team's registration for the Build Your Own Waterslide Competition has been
received and accepted. As the Lifeguard it is your role to make sure your team
is ready to go and that the following rules are followed:

* Each Pool Patrol is to consist of no less than 6 and no more than 20
members
* The ride may not exceed 30 rooms in length
* Players may only be on one Pool Patrol
* Each member of the Pool Party must contribute at least one room to the
ride
* The Lifeguard must be the owner of the Shallow End room, where the team's
ride begins

Your Pool Patrol must have a name; choose carefully, it must be allowable in VMK
and must fit into the Shallow End room name.

The first room on the ride is your Shallow End. The name of the room must be
"Shallow End", followed by the name of your team (example: Shallow End Dumbo).

Other rooms on the ride may have any name, although we do encourage the use of
the team name; words such as Pool and Patrol are also encouraged but not
required.

No "dictionary dances" are permitted in any Pool Patrol room names (example:
?Shallow End Dumbo To? is not allowed).

Now that your team's registration has been accepted, no changes may be made to
team name or team membership. Changes will disqualify your team from the
competition without further notice.

Only registered teams will be judged.

Judging will take place between Friday August 4 and Sunday August 6.

While it is not necessary to keep your ride open to be judged, we hope you will
be able to keep it open during the event weekend so other Players can enjoy what
you and your team have created.

Jess, i'm not going to be here next week. So i'm going to miss a whole week of ride building. I plan on getting it all done this week. But if not, i have a few days when I get back to finish up before judging.

I'll try to get my other room done before then, but I need major help. I don't have a clue what to do. I haven't started on it yet because it's very hard to make something colorful and scary LOL....

I'll sign on right now and try to help connecting. I have to sign off in an hour to go to work but I'll be back on by 9:30 eastern time.
I really need help with connecting these rooms, if anyone is able to connect theirs on their own that would be a great help. It doesn't matter if the rooms are finished or not today, they just need connecting. If there is something wrong with the room or the order tell me now or else it'll all be connected wrong. I am mostly concerned about the monster room Zebraa is doing and danger's room cause everyone is assigned to different things there.

I gave you the teleporter awhile back after jam gave it to me. Right now I can't get on vmk cause of this stupid non cool computer so just give the teleporter to zebraa or danger.

While it is not necessary to keep your ride open to be judged, we hope you will
be able to keep it open during the event weekend so other Players can enjoy what
you and your team have created.
So, like, I can go out on my weekend or no?

Edit AGAIN: Since ya'll are all frolicking around on vmk and not posting here, its time to make an edit so I dont double post. According to the newsletter these are the categories.
Best Use of Color, Most Creative, and Best Overall Ride experience.
We have a shot at overall and possibly best use of color. Personally, my rooms are not all that colorful. Theres some color but it sticks to the theme. With my rooms I've been shooting for the overall and I think you all should. Fill the rooms with as many items as possible. Rocks, trees, anything. And build them tall. Make this look impressive. [Btw, I'm not talking about like a random water trough or a random green chair cause you think it looks nice.] We can shoot for colorful too, just as long as the color stays relevant and your not putting a flying saucer in to get an extra shade of blue.

No, but I was joking. I'll be on for judging. The only issue is I'll probably be working friday, saturday, and sunday nights. But I'll be holding up base camp in the mornings and afternoons.
Bb, how many rooms do you have done? At least have the rooms connected before you leave, even if they aren't done and finish them when you get back. We just need them done by judging. I think it would be a big help if you stayed for judging, but I can't force you to sit in base camp with us. Its really up to you.

Jess, have you ever seen those flags in host games? lol Well, whenever a host/staff comes by, they will give us a blue flag post to put in the main room to show that it has been judged..

When you register, you just have to put the room name. Not who is building it. As long as Miss makes at least one room and I build the room she can't do then we're good.
Danger, was there a newsletter I missed about the blue flag? Do they put it down or is it sent to me to put in? If im not there when its judged do one of you get the flag? Yeah, I'm confused on that.
And to Bb, if there are any rooms you can't do I guess I'll do them. I ended up having to do 6 rooms for the first competition. I only have 4 done now so I'll take on the extras. I don't care if I have to be on from opening to closing from when I get back to when judging is. If anyone is having doubts about a room they dont have time to do just give it to me. I'd rather spend my time doing a room right then you having to worry and rush to get it done sloppily.
Btw, I'll be back the 29th. That is going to be a horrible week for me but I have to do what I have to do.

After reading every post in this thread, I've come to pick this team as the team I want to win in the Water Slide/Ride event. It seems like you guys have had some obstacles along the way but I think you're really handling them nicely.

Off-topic: I'm not sure if any of you know me but when I played VMK (I got bored - I just stay on the forums now), I could never win a Best Guest Room Award, so I hope you guys do with this awesome ride. Maybe I'll come on VMK to ride it during the judging.

Yeah, the last competition was definitely more fun. This one is good but its in the middle of summer so everyone is gone- making things MUCH more frustrating. The last competition all I had to worry about was forcing a little kid to put some track down. Now in this one half our members have gone AWOL and the ride is barely connected.

Update- Change in plans, I'll be leaving Friday afternoon. (Coming back August 4th) And 1 or 2 days this week I won't be here, I'll be at the carnival with friends and spending the night at someone's house possibly.

I think everyone needs to work a little harder. Jazz has to do, what, 5 rooms?? And all of them are fabulous. It's not fair that she does all this, and some of us are not giving 100%. Fill your rooms to the top, but not with random things, like Jazz has said. Make your room(s) look as best as they can, even if it means fireworks (or any mini-game) all day long. I, myself, had not been online much before today, and I knew that my second room was not even close to being finished. I played fireworks all day, and got most of it done.

I don't want everyone to think that I don't need to work harder; I do. Tomorrow, I will try to get my room done, and looking perfect. We can't rely on Jazz to do everything we can't, because she has a life, too, and needs to be elsewhere besides VMK (such as work LOL). So don't let jazz down ;)

Well, yesterday Jazz and I tried to get into one of her rooms because her room was after Jazz's, but cat hadn't put the teleporter down :( I really hope she gets on soon.

So do I... I wish there was a way we could reach her. We've come really far with team giraffe, I'd hate the team to be disqualified because someone's computer broke down or something. You just can't help those kind of things.

Zebraa if you still want to talk I'll be on most of today remaking cat's rooms and adding more to mine. The only time I won't be here is for some of tonight. I dont have work but ever so conviniently I have dance but that will only be about three or so hours.

She didn't have time to complete her rooms and we were wondering if we could take her off the team list and do the rooms she was supposed to do. And that we thank the staff for taking the time to read bother with us.

I totally understand where your coming from, but its not like she was here, made her rooms and we just didn't like them and kicked her off the team. Sometimes acceptions can be made when the unexpected happens. We haven't heard back from vmk so who knows what they'll say.

I understand and feel sorry for your guys, but rules are rules. I know if I was on a team and they needed me I would find a way to get to a computer, somehow and get on even for a minute. Go to a friend's house or something like that. I just don't want any ill affects that would come out of this from the other teams.

I know you don't want other teams talking bad about us, but one of our team members hasn't been on for two weeks (or over.. I'm not sure), and if it's actually impossible for her to get online, I think VMK should lets us take her off the roster. All of us have spent a well amount of credits on this, making two rooms each, and we don't want to be disqualified just because of a team member's computer problems.

And you never know - Something worse could have happened to cat, nobody really knows for sure. Hopefully wherever she is, she hasn't forgotten about Team Giraffe. ;)

Quick question for Ryan. Do you plan on logging on anytime soon? Cause I really need to link all the rooms and your room isn't done. You still haven't been on since the 16th. You need to grab a teleporter from zebraa as your rooms exit and I need to connect cats room to amber.

I might as well just finish and complete all my rooms today O.o After I finish I will not be on until the competiton begins :D Unless, I have to connect rooms or something ... lol So maybe until Thursday :)

Actually, Jess is working on a room now. I've been playing fireworks and getting stuff for the room ;) 2 hrs till judging!

I feel bad that Jess had to do like 80% of the rooms for the ride =O Thanks again for putting in all that work for the team. :)

Team Giraffe was just judged awhile ago, when I was in the room.. afk. LOL, So I didn't get to see who judged. I just came back and was like OMG! WE WERE JUDGED!

The funny thing is, CL_Jess put a red crate down for them to put the flag on, and they did! LOL!

Just a heads up, it was Host_Hula who came in and judged. I was able to talk with her a little bit when she came into our last room, very sweet. She did tell me that 'zebra must be sleeping' which really made me laugh. Lol, after waiting so long your asleep! Anyways, I hope all our work was worth it.
