This isn't really a problem, more of an idea. If community leaders had orange ears that cannot be traded, more people would be able to easily recognize them in the game, like staff. :)

A good thought. Even though players would become more and more jealous because VMK says that Community Leaders do not get special things, only the pin, and the CL_ in front of their name. If we gave them orange ears that might lead to many many CL requests or just angry players. Overall though, i think it's a solid idea.

Honestly, I think the reason 80% of the people who continue to apply to be a CL even though they arent accepting are doing it for the badge and prefix in front of there name. Even though they say in there application that badges and prefix's arent the reason they are applying, it is really. You can help people everyday without being a "CL". CL's are generally more popular, and they can have staff on their friends list. Those are the reasons people want to become a CL. The real reasons. You can help anybody any day without being a CL.

I have seen applications posted on here before that go like this:

"hey vmk you should really pick me i know everything and i dont want to be a cl because of the badge its because i want to help and i know alot so plz plz plz plz pick me i can help alot i beg of you plz plz"

I think that it is a great idea! Lots of people would want those ears, but they would realize that they would need to be a good citizen to be able to get them, and that would make VMK a better place.

Let's clear some stuff up; I know lots of CL_s who help. VMK knows how to choose who really wants to help and who really just wants the status. The reason why we have CL_ status and not just have others help others is because CL_ shows others they know a lot and are the most likely in the room to be able to answer your question. I'm not saying other help is great, but CL_ can go a little further :).

PrincessTink you are right :) blue ears are the testers with the QA_ infront of their name. I think orange ears would be good for the CL's but on the other side, people would want to be CL's that way they could get the ears. The people that choose the CL's would be flooded with applications, but overall I think that it is a good idea.

I think stichmad is right, although orange is not one of those appealing colors, I would of went with purple or something.
And also, I wanted to be a Cl_ since day 1! I wish I could...:( (Kind of off the subject sorry)

I've said this before and i will say it again. I don't like any idea that has to do with CL_'s getting something special. ppl brought this same kinda thing up when blue ears first came. Really its not fair at all. Just because some ppl were around longer than others and were eligable to become a CL probably because a lot were here from beta shouldnt mean they get special stuff. Its not our fault that we are not CL_'s. some of us didnt find out about VMK as early as others and it would be unfair for those of us who aren't CL_'s.

I think that this would eb a bad Idea to put into action. VMK stated about CL_s that they would not get ANY special privlages

I wouldn't have a problem with it if they came up with a compromise...

CL_ can get one color (but please not orange.. I don't own anything orange in VMK) and everyone else is able to buy a different color and CL_ would not be able to buy the other color.

We could change our hats, but only be allowed the CL_ color of ears (and black and gold like everyone) while everyone else get's the "player" color of ears. Then players are happy because they get a cool color and CL_ are happy because they get a cool color and neither one can get the other. We may not end up with the color we WANT, but that's not what it's about is it?

Although there are people out there who may want to become a CL for the wrong reasons, my suggestion was for the truely good at heart people who do their best to help others on a daily basis in the game by being a leader. Yes, many help out a lot who are not leaders and those people should definately apply to become one. I did not, at any moment, see giving leaders orange ears as a reward or something special. Currently there are two ways to identify a leader and both of them you need to click to find out. Sure you could find them if they're talking, but as I said, the ears would help them to be more easily recognized in the game.

I do like what a couple people said about how it may improve the atmosphere by having those ears for leaders only, giving others incentive to become a leader. They could be any colour of course, I only picked orange as a quick suggestion.

Orange ears stuck to my head would not make me very happy. LOL Unless they made cool new orange shirts...Tee hee hee! Oh and, they did not have community leaders since day one. I think leader applications started in July, that is when I applied….


Maybe like older community leaders that actually make a difference would be awarded a CL shirt or ears or something. Then they would be forced to be good, follow the rules, and help to get ears. LOL That wouldn't be meh, I help but I am lazy <3333333! Rofl. Then people would know to ask questions to good CL's, not CL's that blab on about nothing like meh. :D

I dont like the idea.. We are normal players, and we wont be given the freedom to wear a hat that we want. Plus, I think its easy to point out a CL with the title and the badge already, we don't need anymore.

Orange ears would be a good idea if they were open to everybody :) Good color to choose ^_^.

But if it were just for CL's i think it would be a problem.

First, other players would want the ear (Me lol). This would cause a lot of angry VMKers.

Second, I don't think all the of the CL's would want to wear the same ears all the time >_<. Unless they were optional to wear.

No one said the ears were always on. They would be just like any other hat, only they couldn't trade them. The point entirely is to make CL's stand out a little more for others to find easily, instead of having to click to find out.

CL_'s are all regular players like you and me. Now having them get special items that we do not would not be fair to the general VMK Public. Now staff have stated over and over that CL_'s do not get special treatment and they are just players that help, but truly why would they need ears to help others? Everybody in VMK is either a leader or a folower like in the world today. Now do CL_'s really need special ears, badges, or a prefix? I SAY NO!

I do think that staff and testers need them as they are real people working for vmk and get paid to do so. Now if CL_'s got something else like ears or outfit that would just be awful as the staff would be sending out lies to us and would most likely get bad reputation as they state all the time that CL_'s don't get special treatment....

Well This Is Just My Thoughts And I Am Certainly Going Against This As Happening.

I sent a suggestion for something else, and got the same reply... but from a different staff.
( Also, I think the orange ears idea is different, because people would just want to be community
leaders just for the ears. And let's say if the leader is band for 1 day, then is not able to be
community leader anymore. Would they still have the ears? Also, would they be tradeable? If they
are then that would be terrible! Community leaders would be trading them for rare/quest/beta and everything! )

Anielmz, the ears would not be tradeable as it clearly mentions in the suggestion I sent to VMK, and staff would remove them just as easy as the badge when a CL is relieved of duty.

KrazyLuke, if you've read the other posts you would've noticed that the intention is not to be a "special treatment" and its entire purpose is to help make leaders more easily recognized to players in the game, without having to click to find out. You're asking they remove the badges and the prefix? How on Earth would you know they're a leader then? Please keep this a discussion and not a rant.
