Hi everyone! Well, today is my b-day, and I just got a Nintendo DS! :D I know it pretty well now, but I have no idea what a chat code is. So, what is a chat code? And how do I get one?

First, you must have either a wireless router or a Nintendo USB if you're wanting to get online.

Good, I know all about MarioKart.

Get some sort of wireless router or Nintendo USB, and install it to your computer or computer area, SEE POST ABOVE.
Load MarioKart DS. ( In manual mode only ) Once at the game menu, press Mario Kart DS Nintendo.
Click button "Nintendo WFC." Once in the WFC menu, press "Nintendo WFC Settings" otherwise known as BIG BLUE BUTTON. Do not go to Options, the narrow orange button.
Press one of the three connection buttons. Connection 1 is recommended, but performance will not differ with other connections.
Here, you shalt find 3 buttons, Access point, AOSS, and Manual.

FOR NORMAL SETUP, SEE NEXT POST.
FOR AOSS SETUP, SEE 2nd POST.
FOR MANUAL SETUP, ( not recommended ) SEE 3rd POST.

After this setup, your DS should commence a connection test. If it is successful, congratualtions. You have a friend code. If connection fails, try getting closer to the router. See 3rd post for more details.
Press B a couple of times until you come back to the MarioKart DS game. Press the "Friend Code" button, and then press "Confirm Friend Code." Here, you may write down your friend code, and give it to other people who would like to race you online. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE POST YOUR FRIEND CODE ON THE VMK FORUMS. Put it down in Ds Chat Code in your User CP.

Now, do you want to kick some online racer butt, or what?

Load MarioKart DS. Blah blah blah you knwo what to do.
Press the "Nintendo WFC" button.
Press the "Nintendo WFC Match" button.
Choose "Friends," "Rivals," "Regional," and "Worldwide." "Friends" is to battle only with your registered friends. To register a friend code, go to "Friend Code." Press "Register Friend Code." Punch in your friend's Friend Code, and press OK. If an error occurs, check the friend code again, and punch it in. "Rivals" is to battle people that have around the same number of wins and losses that you have. That never worked for me, I usually just got people with high wins, or people that sucked on ice. "Regional" is for battling people within your area. "Worldwide" is to battle people around the world, no matter the number of wins or losses.
Press one of these buttons and momentarily wait. You will receive some players after a few seconds. Wait some more. The button allowing you to go back ( the big red arrow on the silver plaque thing ) will disappear. The player's picture, wins, losses, and username will appear. IT'S GAMING TIME!

NEXT POST

GO to your AOSS area and keep checking your AOSS lamp. Comfirm that you have AOSS ( I have no idea what that means ) and press the AOSS button. Wait until the lamp starts blinking, and I don't know what to do after that since I, along with all of my friends, don't have AOSS. This process should take to about a minute.

2nd POST

Press the "Search for Access Point" button. Wait for a few seconds. A list will come up on your screen showing a list of different wireless Internet connections. If it doesn't, amessage will come up. That message will give you the reason for error ( access point out of range ) and a phone number to consult somebody for help. On the list, a "lock" will be by the connection name. Blue = usable, red = usable only if you enter it's WEP key, gray = locked and unusable. Press OK, and the DS will initiate a test connection. See first post ( post before NEXT POST ) for more.

3rd POST

Turn off "Auto-obtain IP Address" and "Auto-obtain DNS." Enter your IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS into the DS. **I AM SEARCHING A WAY TO FNID THESE THINGS ON THE COMPUTER. IT IS RELATED TO THE COMMAND PROMPT. TELLING ME WHICH COMMAND TO PUT IN WOULD BE MOST SATISFACTORY. I WILL PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS POST IN CREDIT AND THANKS TO YOU.** This setup is not recommended.

Yes, i just got my ds but i do know some stuff about it.

Everyone's ds is included with a chat room system, which lets you chat with people up to 65 feet away.

And, for nintendogs, if you hate your progress, you can "brainwash" all your data and start over. To do that, you need to be at the part where the nintendo logo is on the top screen, and some terms are on the bottom screen. Then, just hold down L+R+A+B. I DO NOT recommed you do this, i have never tested this before.

And, a question from me, can you plug your ds into the computer? If so, what can you do while it is pluged into the computer?

I have tested erasing your data on Nintendogs. It works just fine. And yes, every DS has a built in Picto-Chat.

You have to be like a few feet away from the person in order for it to work. I know, I tried it with my cousin, and it worked.

You don't need a connecter to Picto-Chat or connect on Animal Crossing.

You don't need a connecter to Picto-Chat or connect on Animal Crossing.

But there is a USB thing for DS to cennect with others. You can buy it.

Yes, I know that. But I was just saying that to connect with Animal Crossing and Picto-Chat you don't need any sort of connecter. Becasue the DS pretty much has a connecter BUILT in it.

Like I said, again: Pressing L+R+A+B+Y+X is to "brainwash" AKA erase your data on Nintendogs. You will lose all your toys, awards, dogs, and other items. You will lose EVERYTHING. This is a very hard thing to do becasue of the 6 buttons that you need to hold down. But, you can always figure out a way to do this. I did it by myself, it was pretty hard. But, if youc an't do it by yourself, then ask a friend or a family member.

HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NINTENDO DS's, and HAVE A HAPPY SUMMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like this:

Nintendo USB Connecter
http://img184.**************/img184/1745/185633162qw8jw5.jpg (http://**************)
>: )

Note: It connects to your comp, comes with a disc to download it onto your pc,fully functional, but be careful any type of dmg could cause it to stop working, other than that allow you to connect to Nintendo WFC,easy-to-use and..Umm....well....idk It something to do with DO NOT TURN OFF THE COMP OR PUT ON STANDBY OR ON A SCREENSAVER! :P
