Costume and new pin set came out at the same time. There was also a hat at the time. This was the Mission Space Suit, the Scorcer Mickey Ears, and the Tomorrowland pin set.
Today, we get the Eplorer suit, the baseball/trucker hat, and the begining of the Jungle Cruise set. Meanwhile, we are ending the Tomorrowland set.
So, theory goes like this.
In about four weeks, there will be another costume and another hat (and for you girls another princess dress in another color). Haunted Mansion is probably going to come out then. So, what may or may not be the item set up?
My guess:
Pirate Outfit (probably in pieces) at Ned w/ last Jungle Cruise Pin. Meanwhile, Cowboy Outfit (probably in pieces since the all items list says there's a version with just a shirt and a version with a shirt and a vest) at Golden Horseshoe w/ first Haunted Mansion pin. The hat would probably be either the Princess Minnie hat or the Herbie Helmet (depending on if the DVD comes out by then). If not either, than probably the backwards baseball hat.
This will probably happen the same weekend. Flash forward a bit, and my theory gets a wee bit more interesting.
Haunted Mansion outfit (in set or in pieces) at Golden Horseshoe w/last Haunted Mansion pin. Meanwhile, over on Fantasyland, they will probably have the Magic Carpet pin out as well as the the Peter Pan hat (if not yet another Princess dress in yet another different color). The hat may or maynot be whatever they didn't release the last time.
Now it was reported that the Magic Carpet pin will be out for "a while," and since there has not been any reports of any sneek peaks at Fantasyland set of five pins, I believe the Magic Carpet pin will be out for a month!
Once the Magic Carpet is at its last weekend, supposibly Frontierland and Tomorrowland will open. This could be celebrated with the release of the Native American pair of clothing and the Diving Suit. And whichever of the last three hats they haven't relesed will probably come with this event as well.
Okay, that ends my theory. Comments?
EDIT: Keep in mind costume listings may change out. For example, when the Haunted Mansion set comes out, they may actually release the Native Costume first and then the Cowboy suit later, which would leave the Haunted Mansion suit for for grabs when Frontierland opens. This may also apply to the hats I meantion as well.
However, I'm sticking to my pin theory. It makes sense to me that they would go in this order given what is out today and what has been reported from various people (VMK tour goers, people that talk to yavn, etc.).
