I'm glad they are changing the name "Disney's California Adventure" really didn't sound that good for a Disney park, but they also say the name change won't take place until 2010, Wow! But it is alot of work to change the whole park name, merchandise, signs, souvenirs, that all have the DCA name and logo on it. I mean, it look a while for 'Epcot Center' to be known as just 'Epcot'.

And yes, I read Miceage.com too, it is the best Disney news site! :D

I read and love that site too but I highly doubt this story on some levels. and BTW I will always call it Epcot Center just like I will always call it MGM even when they change it to Walt Disney Studios. :mickey2:

Well, the MGM thing is different. They are changing the Disney MGM Studios because they lost the naming rights of "MGM" because it is now owned by Sony. So they are really changing it to Walt Disney Studios not because they want to, but because they have to.

California Adventure on the other hand, will be getting a new name eventually because of marketing, and they want more crowds to actually come to the park.

Epcot was originally called Epcot Center because the whole idea of that park was to be the center of this utopian-perfect community thought-up by Walt Disney. While it was a very admirable plan, after Walt passed away, Epcot Center became another Disney theme park instead of this community for people to live and work in, and hence, the "Center" was dropped, making it just "Epcot", Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. :D

MGM will always be MGM! It is Disney's best theme park except for MK and DL to me! I heart MGM!

joeyespn, your "plans" are completely and totally unrealistic.

Well, at least you put alot of thought into that. But you can dream all you want, that's what an imagination is for. Yay! But hopefully with Bob Iger in charge rather than Eisner, maybe Disney and Pixar can patch things up!

But 27 E-Ticket rides?? Wow, think about how much maintence alone would cost.... and who would be willing to sit on a ride for 30 mins?? My best friend fell asleep in Universe of Energy at Epcot, and that ride is only like 15 mins long, but it was nice and cool in there. :D

This is just for fun I guess but I think they are about 20 percent realistic!

Disney and Pixar have the money for this stuff and also do the millions of stockholders of these companies!

DCA is some big chunk of land and it not really working out!

Hong Kong DisneyLand, DCA, and Animal Kingdom have all been failures which points something huge like this in the right direction!

Hong Kong did not open yet but it is not receiving such nice reviews!

Iger needs to get Disney Parks on track again this is the perfect park!

Pixar is already playing a huge role recently in DLR and many new Pixar attractions are being rumored at DLR!

I would not be suprised if Pixar buys DCA outright at a low price!

I would not be suprised if Pixar bought DLR outright!

First of all, let me say that you cannot call Hong Kong Disneyland a failure, the park hasn't even opened yet to the public.

Disney can't go just building E-Ticket attractions whenever they want to, it takes years of designing and aquiring permits for all these rides, not including the cost. Mission: Space in Epcot cost $100 Million dollars to build, and Disney Co. is not made of money. Disney owns parks in 5 different locations, and a total of 9 parks, they can't put all their money into California Adventure and let the other parks just become dated.

While I do agree they need to revamp California Adventure, especially since one of their main attractions (California Screamin') may be in renovations until 2007, I HIGHLY doubt that Pixar would put up a bid to buy the park. Pixar and Disney were not on good terms throughout Eisner's reign as CEO, and while they may be able to patch things up, I doubt even Bob Iger could nor would want to convince them to buy DCA. Pixar makes movies, they specialize in animation, they are not in business to run a theme park.

just to say something Pixar isnt going to buy DLR, but they are already building rides inspired by pixar ( finding nemo and monsters inc.) and is it just me or does joeyespn have a huge imagination? and they wont change the name of DCA
