Well, I just came back onthe weekend from my month long trip which was a blast. This is one trip I'll never forget. Anyhow, one may ask, where did I go? I went to LA, where my dad got us to go to Disney on the 50th anniversary. Then, we went to Singapore where I was an intern (Yes, an intern, but I was by far the yougest person there. I was more like a tourist :D) for about 2 weeks. I would go to work (Loved it!) on the weekdays, then go after work and weekends to visit sites. I got to do everything from running a large sports event (registation desk and monitor of sites) all the way to learning about the corporate world! Fun fun fun! Especially in a company like the one I worked for! Then we went to Hong Kong to visit my grand parents and tour the place that was my home, though this was my first time being in Asia. Well, let's talk about the Disney part as that is what has most to do with these boards. ;)

Well, it was precisely the 50th Birthday celebration. Needless to say, I was filled with shock, awe and that feeling that you get when you win a lottery. A really big lottery where the winner gets a Genie's lamp. :D As we walked in fro the parking lot (We were wanting to plow though the Downtown section. It was stunning!), we saw tonnes of people heading towards the park. I checked my watch, and I felt chills go up my spine when I saw the time.

9:45. We were going to make the openning ceremony. Wow.

So, as I was clad in my Disney outfit which comprises of a pair of brand new New Balance 1007s, a pair of dark blue Tommy Hilfinger shorts, the WDW 100th anniversary T-shirt and sporting a surfer Mickey hat, I was utterly stunned that we were going on that day. That, or my 25th anniversary fanny-pack was a bit too tight. :D (http://img219.**************/img219/1451/dsc003735pw.jpg)

So as we talked in, we were greeted by the usual cheerful Disney staff that is universal in its service all over the world. (Including the Hong Kong one! I got to go there too! We only got to see the main walkway and caught a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom, but it was worth it!) Well, we got these really special tickets and maps.

Then as we walked in, we realized that they were actually giving out Golden Mickey ears! Except what's so special about them? See for yourself! (I got Mickey to sign my hat)

Well, as you can see, the last one is edited because it had a reflection of me in it.

Well, since there were three of us, we got three. (http://img179.**************/img179/5734/dsc003697th.jpg) While the Golden ears glistened under the baking sun, all of us listened attntively on the opening ceremony as Disney VIPs gave a tribute to the opening of the park 50 years ago. We have pictures, but we haven't developed the nine rolls of film yet. Well, I was ready, as were my parents. Armed with a map (with time guide), entrance ticket (Mother of of all fastpasses), the Tommorowland Quest and sporting my ears, I was ready to have some fun! The Mickey Hand pillow is from my trip to WDW, by the way. :)

Well, I'm going to skip ahead. Not much use having me recount my time of having a awesome time while having at Disney. I mean sure, it was amazing and a great opportunity to have as much fun as we could before the awaiting 12 hour plane flight, but really a 20 hour flight because we took a detour to Anchorage, Alaska because a kid became deathly ill. (Literally, he had a life-threatening sitaution)

Well, the VMK booth was nothing special. You average booth. But the VMK zone inside Innoventions? Wow! It was amazing! All of the computers were inside different props and everything was just plain stunning. I managed to get on a computer and contacted MisterToad the dance machine and WDWR the wise. They helped me tonnes on the quest. Anyhow, I managed to only redeem one quest, because we were in a rush to hit California Adventure. I was only slightly dissapointed, but the quest I completed yielded a pleasant surprise. Wouldn't you be happy if you held these in your hand?

What's very noticable from the cards is that the Teleport pin card has a very different shade of blue than the other ones. The card back is much brighter compared to the navy blue of the other two. Another surprise was that on the top of the back, you can see a preview of the Tommorowland VMK logo, which is absolutely stunning. It is far batter than I had expected it to be. Another thing that caught my eye was the fact that the codes were actually printed onto the card seperately, rather than being part of the actual card itself. All along, I had thought the code was printed on the same paper as the card, when in fact, it was a label. Also, a very important note is that I asked if they will ever run out of cards. They said yes, but it appears to be no time soon. They have plenty, in the words of the person I asked. So don't fret everyone! You all have a chance!

Well, after a hards day work of Disneylanding, we sat down for dinner at a Jazz cafe in Downtown Disney. Great music, great environment. The parade we saw was amazing. Great overlying theme music ("Welcome" from the Brother Bear soundtrack), great floats and a great atmosphere of Golden ears. We fireworks were amazing. It was the 50th and it seemed Disney Co. really wanted to make the day shine even to the last hours. The dazzling combination of music and fireworks that shot all around us as every part of the park ranging from the castle and the Matterhorn to the buildings on Main Street themselves. New Years celebrations are like this in Disney, but this was so much more.

Well, to the souvenirs. While I could take a picture of all my stuff such as pins and Photo holders we got, I would be doing no justice to amazing 50th sweatshirt. Sure, it's far too big, but it is *so* worth it!

did you get the code of the golden mickey ears?
Well, no. You see, the Mickey hat came free, as I said in my write up. :P

I already have Golden ears though, thanks to shiregirl, but I wish I had gotten more stuff, like the VIP tour. We didn't get time though, as we visited California Adventure and Downtown Disney for the latter half of the day. (5:00-8:00 PM)

Anyways, I sure did have a blast!

well at disneyland, the real gold mickey hat costs either $10.50 (kid size) or $11.50 (adult size). But i would highly recommend that if u buy ur mickey hat at DL, buy it at the store "Hatmosphere" cuz there u can get ur name embroidered on ur hat for FREE! by the way, i hope u had great fun on ur vacation! wait, wut am i say'n. of course u had fun cuz it's DL! yay!
