Part 1: Introduction
Hey everyone! I noticed there was not quest guide here, so I made a guide and pointers on some quest kiosk stuff. Please post what you think of it!
Part 2: getting your quest kiosk
To get to the quest kiosk is not easy. You will have to do lots of quest yourself, like the
Divers quest (to get the diving magic pin) (AKA shipwreck quest)
Autopia begginers quest (for the blue pin)
Autopia novice quest (for pink pin)
Autopia intermediate quest (for orange pin)
Autopia advanced quest (for green pin)
Inner-space quest
Note on qutopia quest: You do not need to complete all four quests. you can, but dont have to. The blue one is fairly easy
Note on inner-space quest: You need both diver magic and Autopia magic (any color) for this quest
If you can complete the quests and buy the quest kiosk for 30,000 credits, your set.
Part 3:Placing your Kiosk
First of all, you need to get your quest kiosk. It will appear in your inventory. You need to have a room to, to put it in. You should not need to buy a room to put this in because when you start of as a guest you start off with one room. Use a room of yours, and put the quest kiosk down. Walk up to your quest kiosk and double click on it
Part 4: Making the tasks
this is kind of difficult at first, so I will walk you through it. To create a task ( a task is something players do in your quest) click on the "new task" button. The different options for a task are:
Acquire an item: Players need to acquire an item. You tell which one. If a player has the item, the task will be completed automatically
This has to be a item you have in your inventory. if you have a brown coffe crate, and you want people to acquire that, then make sure you have one, and mention in the task hint what item to acquire.
Cast a magic spell: The quest players need to cast a magic spell: you tell which one. The same idea with the acquire an item, you need to have the magic pin in order to say you need to cast it. Also mention what magic you will use in your task hint. You can, but I dont reccomend using dancing inferno as a magic you should use, because then only a small amount of people will be able to finish your quest
Change clothes: The quest players need to change thier apperance This is pretty self explanatory, but you do not need to (and you cant really) specify which clothes they have to change to. In your task hint, you should say something like "this is a long quest, so get into walking shoes" or something. Just change your clothes Dance: The quest players need to dance
This is a very easy task. From where you are, just press the heart button and dance. Describe this in your task hint.
Earn credits:The quest players need to earn credits. You decide how much For this, you can make your quest players earn as little as 5 credits or past 10,000. I reccomend staying in the 100-2000 credit range. You do not want players to overwhelm themselves doing your quest
Emote: the quest players need to show and emotion. You choose which one you should say something like "if your happy and you know it show a happy face" or "if your sad, show a sad face" you specify which emote you show. Make sure you explain which one in your task hint
Find an item: You hide an itme, which players have to collect. You can place the item in a public room or in one of your own guest rooms. Only players on this task can see the item
Ok. This is fairly the most difficult task to set up. You can choose what the item they find is, and they are:
A Skull
An Atom
A Gem
A Horeshoe
A 4-leaf clover
A golden mickey that says 50
Now, if you dont want it to be in your quest room, You should move the window to the side, enter the room you want to put it, go to the place in the room where you want to put it, then say " Drop " and place the Atom/ horsehoe what ever at avatar posistion. a Favorite place of mine is the top of tom sawyars island. Say what room to find your item in in your task hint
Make new friends: the quest players need to have thier friend request accepted
This is easy. The first person you see ask them to be your friend. Say this in your task hint
Mutilple choice question: The quest players need to answer a mutiple choice question written by you
Fairly simple. You make a question about something (Disneyland, VMK, your character, etc.) Write your question say next, then write the options to your question and select the right answer.
Play A minigame: the quest players need to play a game and then decide score needed
this is easy. Play a minigame.
Fireworks: set between 0 to 280,000 points needed
Jungle Cruise: 0-55,000 points needed
Pirates: 0-27,000 points needed
Haunted mansion: 0-150 ghosts needed
Note from cadberry; Caddyberry here, dont make your scores super high, but make it challenging.
Play a song: the quest players need to play a song in the street party music game
This is literally very self explanatory. You go to the street party music game on main street, and play a song. If you have never played it before, make a song and play it.
Say something:the quest players need t osay something you can require up to 4 words to be said
This is fairly easy. Write what they have to say (CaPs sensitive) and then press next. then write in your task hint what the should say, or a hint on what to say
Sit Down: The quest players need to sit down
This is extremly easy. You cant specify what chair they sit in, just that they have to sit.
Spend Credits: The quest players need to spend credits. You decide how much
Like Get credits, but the exact oppisite. Spend as little as 5 credits, or more then 2000. I reccomend keeping it in the 25-1500 credit range.
Visit a room: the quest players need to enter a room specified by you
This is in any of the five lands, in any room. All players have to do is go to the room. Describe this in your task hint or with a photo
Visit an NPC: The quest players find an NPC specified by you
for those who dont know, an NPC is a non player character which can be found in the following places
Emporium: Esmaralda
Shrunken neds shop: Shrunken ned
Pirate's treehouse: Captain blackheart
Dungeon: The dragon
Matterhorn: The yeti
Haunted mansion stretching room: Phineas
Haunted mansion ballroom: Ezra
Haunted mansion attic: Gus
All of the NPCs will give you 20 credits if you double click on them (40 credits first time)
Wave: the quest players need to wave
this is not even worth explaining. Just wave!
Part 5: Other task stuff
Ok. If you followed part 2, we have our quest tasks. but its more then making them.
Making a time limit: On your tasks, you can set a timelimit, so the quest is more challenging. To do this, you go to the task you want to time, then press the clock button:the different times are:
5 seconds
15 seconds
30 seconds
1 minute
2 minutes
5 minutes
10 minutes
15 minutes
If you are wondering what times I would reccomend for each task, Well dont be dissapointed!
Acquire an item: 10 minutes
Cast a magic spell: 5 minutes
Change clothes: 2 minutes
Dance: 1 minute
Earn credits: no time limit
Emote: 30 seconds
Find an item: 10 minutes
Make new friends: 5 minutes
Mutiple choice question; 2 minutes
Play a minigame: No time limit
Play a song: 5 minutes
Say something: 2 minutes
Sit down: 2 mintues
Spend credits: 15 minutes
Visit a room: 5 minutes
Visit an NPC: 2-5 minutes
Wave: 30 seconds
These are my choices, hope you like them!
Photos: Photos are easy. If you cant really say what you want to say in your task hints in words, try pictures! Make sure you have the credits to but film, and buy it (unless you already have some) and take a picture that your going to put in your task hint. When you have the picture, select our task, say edit task hint, and add the photo from your photo catalog.
Part 6: Prizes for your quest
There is little to explain here, but to make a suscessful quest you need prizes! They can be anything from your inventory, including credits, Furnishings, posters, and pins. You can offer any time of prize from these sections, as long as they are tradeable, you can offer them as your prizes
Part 7:Settings
This is an important section. You choose how your quest runs, by time, or first come first served. I can explain what the pros and cons of these times are:
Part 8: Timing
first come, first served:
Pros: 1.The people who win your quest first will get the top prizes, making the top earning players happy
2. Players dont have to wait to see thier place
3. You dont have to worry about the time
Cons: 1. Not everyone will get a good prize (proably)
2. Not everyone will get prizes if they come to late
3. Not every player will get to play the quest
Ran by time:
Pros: 1. Everyone can play your quest before time runs out
2. everyone has a equal chance at the top prize
3. You can set your quest to only be open for a certain amount of time
Cons: 1. You have to deal with the time (when VMK closes, etc.)
2. Some players may not come till lat minute with time
3. Your quest might end relatively sooner
These are an overview of these different settings!
Part 9: Naming and describing your quest
this is easy. Whatever your quests theme is, name like that. If I had a peter pan quest, I might call it " The neverland quest " or something. If you dont have a name name it something like " Insert character's name here" quest! your quest name should reflect on your quest.
Your description: If you have to operate magic in your quest, say that in this descripion. And also maybe make something creative! let your imagination go wild!
Part 10: Conclusion
Well, if you read the entire guide, cool! hope it helped you. I tryed my best to make a functional guide!
