How? They can only get one pin from the game. Unless they create like a whole army of mule accounts for the sole purpose of getting and handing out Fireworks pins, I don't know how they will be in high demad.

She means that we are going to need players that can outscore us when we are hitting 240k. Retlaw and Starlight can do this. OP said firework magic requires 240k and Not come in first.

Well, either way, I can't score 240K on my computer. The game runs too slow and the curser sticks for some reason when I move it from side to side too fast. I also cannot change my icons as fast as I used to before they had the 10 Player minimum addition.

LOL; I was *hanging out* with Alexander in the Spell room tonight, and I made the mistake of blowing my potion on the leftmost spell. Whee. Could have done that myself. :)

This is exciting news, however... I can only get about 220,000 at best.

Are we certain 240,000 is the minimum requirement? The coming in second doesn't surprise me though.

Yes, I am certain about the amount. VMK sent me a message congratulating me for getting over 240000 and that I was being awarded the pin.
And yes, RETLAW won the game.

it took me forever to be able to get over 200k and i can only do that on my first two games after i loggin due what i believe are memory issues with my computer and slowness after that. hopefully eventually it will become availble some other way also unless i can get a faster computer, LOL!

don't forget to be careful when you organize your help games and only have 5 people that can score over 240k play at a time or else some of you wont even make it to level 5 :eek:

my sister SparklingStar also got the pin but with a score under 240,000 she got it with the score of 239,000 so i assume it can be close to it as well though she placed first in the game, My other sister StarryNight got it with the score of 240,100 in second place after WDWtigger72, and I got it by getting 240,742 in second place, after playing after a round getting a score of 240,234

We need to talk to yavn. This bar is a bit impossible for most of us.

How about changing it to something like "You have to score 200K+ 10 times" or something that most people can do even with a computer that slows down during this game?

Wow that's going to be a rough one, I seem to be ok in the 210-220 range but I rarley crack 225 and only once have I cracked 230! I play quite a bit on a very fast computer and connection. I don't know If i'll ever get it :confused:

Try waiting until the firework is close to starting to dip. Time it right, and you can make it a flawless explosion. Wait too long and it fizzles out.

I scored that much but I got in 1st place so I didn't get the magic pin. But just now I played with starlight and got over 240000 again and now I got the pin. So it is true that you have to get in second place.

Way to go, DBFan...that is encouraging and gives me something else to shoot for. My best score right now is ~236,000 without really practicing, so at least I know I'm in the running.

It's bizarre to me that they have implemented another game pin that requires you to both do something really well and also LOSE. I figured it must have been a bug with the Gold fireworks pin/castle room reward, but now that they have apparently done the same thing with the Fireworks magic pin, you have to wonder if it's deliberate and if so, why. I think I can safely say that it's a challenge for even the best Fireworks players to consistently break >240,000 points. For those that can accomplish this, then it becomes an even bigger challenge to find someone else who can consistently pull this off AND beat you so that you can get your pin. Oh well, maybe this is a secret ploy to get people collaborating and playing together in VMK. :)

well im in the 180-200k running...but no where near where i need to be every game i play in fireworks....

Doesn't help me. In fact, it lowers my score, as there is too much going on in the later levels for me to actually hit them as they start to dip.

I'm so excited...I finally got my fireworks magic pin just now!! I finally got over 250K, but won, but the next game I got just over 240K and got the pin! :D

On second thought, forget about telling yavn to lower the requirement to get the Magic Pin.

For all I know, he'll probably fire back the "If these people can get it, I don't see why you can't." line. :( At least, that's what my gut is telling me.

Well ....it's definately really extremely hard to get that pin. I've been playing a lot and I got to 226,700 tonight. I think I am going to buy a really good mouse to play with. Mine is a little glitchy right now and it's been messing me up occassionaly. I play a lot of games and I think they are making this a bit too difficult to get.

Yea, this is probably the most difficult pin to get as of right now. It's extremely hard to score high enough and get second place. (i.e. all the people that get high scores, yet still don't have the pin) I feel blessed to have had the luck to get it. It's so much harder than the gold pin!

to clairify a three star invisibility pin is three invisibility magic pins combined, so it lasts longer than normal, if you combine two you will see in the bottom left of the magic card merge adn have two stars, rather than two single stared ones...if that makes any sence.

Shoot. This news is disheartening. Unfortunately, with my five year old computer with Windows Me and mere 128 MB of RDRAM (sigh, it was so state of the art once) I doubt my computer will stop booting me out of the game or stop choking long enough for me to get near 240,000 much less do that and lose. I've only broken 210 once. With my computer, that very last stage with the barrage of blue fireworks is particularly brutal. Maybe some day..

How ARE people getting more than one invisibility magic pin? I'm shocked anyone would be willing to trade.

i got one with my first account, and went though the pirates game again, and recieved nothing but 15 points the whole time and one 40 points for the 40th game period.

the second was from my other account, and my third and fourth were from two friends who gave up VMK already so i have a total of 4, two 1 star, and one 2 star

The pirate game is just enduring the looooooong process of going through all the levels. The fireworks game is all about timing (and having a good mouse). I think the magic fireworks pin would definately make anyone who wins it rewarded, especially when they show it off to others. I'm too close to give up. Gotta wait till the last minute more often with those fireworks ;) .

i am with alexander; i may never make it to level 5 ever again. when it was only 4 players i could do it with low scores. check out the sig.

now that it is 10 players, yikes! :eek: i can't even get to level two most of the time. *sigh*

I'm perfectly fine with there being pins that are very difficult to get. Put it this way -- if everyone starting a new character on VMK got a fireworks pin, would anyone even care whether or not they had it? Nope.

The rarer and harder it is to get something, the more enticing and desirable it will be. If the Alice in Wonderland non-magic pin was only available by scoring >240k on Fireworks, then everyone would be clamoring about getting the Alice pin.

* shrug * I'll get what I can, trade for some other things that I can't achieve, and not get too upset about the things I can neither earn nor trade for.

OK, I'm the *number one hypocrite*, and will admit that I kinda really want all the magic pins too. But, until they implement pick-pocketing on VMK, I don't think I stand a chance. :)

May not be the right place to post this, but I just hit a personal high in fireworks... 232,200!

I did place on the scoreboard for the frst time. I was so thrilled. My best score prior was 219,000. Although it wasn't over the 240 barrier, it did give me a lot of hope.

I have that problem. I don't think it is my keyboard, because the arrow keys work find outside of the Fireworks game.

I've reported the bug several times. I don't think anyone is listening.

I too have noticed this "problem" occasionally, but I've always been able to fix it. I believe this issue occurs when you click anywhere outside of the game window (Fireworks or otherwise). Even if you reactivate the game window by clicking the window once, I think you need to click an additional time to enable the arrow keys again. Or, it could be that you need to click in the actual game window itself and not just the menu bar area. Click anywhere you like a few times, and I think you'll find the problem fix itself. :)

Frequently when playing Fireworks, I'll toggle to a different website between rounds (VMK fan site, usually!). After a few annoying instances where I thought I had reactivated the Fireworks window but hadn't (and subsequently missed the first few fireworks), I now make sure I have successfully reactivated the window by testing out the arrow keys before the round starts.

I just wanted to say it use to be very hard for me to get even 200,000 too. So if that is you now I want to tell you that with a little practice you get much better. If I can do it I think anyone can.

It has been proven that even if you win the fireworks magic pin, that if you play the same way again you get another fireworks magic pin. My sister had received a second pin by doing so, as well as Jucco.

This happens to me almost every time in the fireworks game! The firework selector won't move no matter how much I hit the arrow keys. The only way I can make it change is to hold the arrow key and then click in the window. I have to do this EVERY time though which makes it hard to get to the right firework fast enough. I've tried 4 computers and have the same problem on all of them. Every once-in-a-while, it works and I don't know why. I'm not sure it's a computer speed problem because twice when I had to windows running at the same time, it worked! Frustrating!

I've had that problem- but just get faster with your arrow keys.

I brought this thread back because I haven't seen any information that I have been able to apply that has fixed the problem for me. I realize that I can get better by doing the arrow|click method over and over, but it will be impossible to break 210-220,000 with this method.

I have a Sempron 2500 processor with 512 MB of memory which should be plenty fast. I understand that there could be some lag, but the arrow keys should not stop working completely. I can't believe that there are only a few people with this problem.
