I buy the HSM soundtrack the first day it comes out. Why? Because I'm a HUGE HSM fan. Then what to they do? THEY COME OUT WITH WITH A SPECIAL EDITION. ARGH!!!

There are special edtions of just about every soundtrack or dvd. Haven't you noticed? Not only does it make more money, but also provides alternate endings, new tracks, fun trailers, ect....

If you're such a good fan why don't you buy it. I have both versions. Disney knows that there are obsessed fans like me out there who will buy 10 million copies of everything.

its the nature of big business. they want to squeeze every dollar they can out of us. sadly our society has come accept this, as well as being pushed into it by government regulations against "piracy," which is being pushed by big business to do so.

You're not missing anything. I have the Special Edition print and the First Print.

The only thing new are six karaoke tracks with really bad back-up singers, and even worse editing. They kept Zac Efron's, Ashely Tibsdale, and Lucas Gabriel's voices on some of the tracks!!

Most offensive? Sharpay and Ryan's horrible Spanish wasn't edited out of the karaoke tracks.

This isn't fair, why does this silly HSM musical get a special edition soundtrack released in literally weeks, when master piece scores like the Temple of Doom may never appear in their fullest... (don't worry I know the reason ;))

Temple of Doom did release a soundtrack... it was on vynal, however, and back then, I don't think people appreciated John Williams like they do now.

well, they released a soundtrack, but it only contains 30 minutes of music, and there is plenty of great unreleased music in the movie, anyways it was a joke, lol.

Disney is a corperation like anyother.. they just didn't figure the movie would take off like it did.. hence the delayed SE.. lol I doubt they originally had it planned and then quickely made it.... they always have the standard DVD planned though... even if the movie flopped.

Same with movie soundtracks.. if there is enough music.. it comes out.. if it's a hit then a SE will be released with other stuff...

The only thing they were planning to do was release the soundtrack. That was it. They actually were thinking Cow Belles would be the winner since it was announced that their DVD would be coming out before HSM's was (or so is the word on the grapevine).

The surprise success made them crazy, hence the quickly and poorly put together SE Soundtrack. Seriously, they could have done better with the karaoke tracks that they added to the SE version.

I can only hope the stage version has some good production values.

I know, I just bought that yesterday for no reason. And I HATE Sharpay's and Ryan's Spanish, So scarys sounding! And the free ringtone didn't work. Besides, Get Your Head in the Game was my least favorite song from the movie. Also, The posters that came with it were not useable because there were lines in it. My point is don't bother to get the Speciak Edition, unless you love karaoke. :minniemo: :mickeymo:
