5/25/06: Wow, I've been on for almost a year... I think I started on the 29th. Wow.
Speech! Yay!! *clap clap!* *silence* uh...

One year ago, on Thursday, May 25, 2005 [is it?], at 10:00 am, VMK was officially open to public players. There was a small amount of people, probably 600 people had signed up. Now, one year later, there are over 1.5 million regular players, including many of the first few thousand players to try out this pioneer internet social game.
So many things have changed. It has changed from a small 6 guest room choices to about 15 available rooms, and now there is Tomorrowland and Frontierland, and one new location in Adventureland, plus two new ones in Main Street. It's amazing what one year can do! Also, there have been many pin additions, magic pins and collectibles, and a few new games, including Haunted Mansion and the VMK Quests. Also, the in-Park Quests have changed, too!
Along with the good changes, there have been bad. VMK was meant to be a friendly game for ages 8-14, but instead, about or over half of the players are involved in "taken," in which players inact in a dating scene... this is not bad in a way or two, but this is surely inappropriate and overmature for this game. Also, there have been "pets" and "babies" being acted out by players. Both involve being "owned" by another player, and they act like what they say they are.
The staff has changed, too. It all started with everybody being a "VMK_". The next step was making every staff wear green clothes and ears, and next, some staff changed their "VMK_" to "HOST_" to tell apart helpers from staff game owners. Now, some of the testers have added the prefix "QA_", whom I think wear blue.
This year has certainly done lots to the game. Although this is not a year from the official, this is the anniversary after the game was open to the public. Nowadays, you can tell the "Beta" players, or players who were playing before the game was officially open, apart by their golden "Here From Day 1" badges right under their names, over their signatures.
Certainly, there are many things I can mention also, but talking about them all would waste my time. So, I will put a few new items here, as in items since beta: Frontierland Bear Rug; River Ride; Everest outfit; Splash Mountain Bayou; Frontierland and Tomorrowland, of course; WDW Thrill Seekers' Quest; DLR 50th Anniversary Quest; Baseball Predictometer; and much, much more.
So, hopefully, VMK will last for at least the next generation to experience. The future lies in the hands of the staff, players, and sponsors. Who knows - VMK could close in the next year or even the next 10 years! But truly, VMK is a game that nobody can ever forget playing for even the smallest moment.

You like? Did it right off the top of my head. Anyway, whenever your beta-start birthday is...
Happy Birthday, VMK!
