Here's my problem: I want to go to this special, end-of-the-year banquet (all my friends are going to be there). It is on the day my uncle and aunt are coming for a visit--and they don't even live in this country! I really like them and all, but I've already missed like three or four things because of their visits. I know blood is thicker than water, but doesn't that mean I can still spend time with my friends? I mean, my uncle and aunt were here just last week and they went to WDW, and are returning on on thatbefore it. I'll have like one or two days after the banquet to spend with them. I need help. Please! I don't know if my parents are going to let me go, and I think that when I ask them if I can go (I just found out about this banquet), I might as well have a good point. Can anyone help me or give me tips on how to convince my parents to let me go?

Just tell them that this is very important to you and that you'll still have time to spend with your aut and uncle, and this is very special, bc it is the last time i'll get to have all my friends hang out with me before summer.

Well, first of all I think you should stay home and see your uncle and aunt, second of all they're family, third of all family is more important then friends. But doesn't mean you shouldn't go but I would say not to.

Maybe you should tell them that you really want to go. You already put your time with your Aunt and Uncle alot. But this is only a one time thing and you should go. Your Aunt and Uncle will always visit, but Banquets won't always happen.

I didn't say she couldn't go. But if it is very important to you then say this might never happen again, and last time to see your friends them they will probably say yes.

Go to the banquet as they will be in town for a while. They should understand that you cannot put off your life for them all the time. Banquets are once in a life time but family can visit again or talk with you on the internet.
