Every monorail (at least at WDW, can't speak for the other parks) is a different color. It's just another of Disney's hidden (or not so hidden) in-park secrets.

I very rarely ride the monorails. The line for the ferry is so much shorter.

I believe that the colors are
Blue, red, gold/yellow, purple, green, pink

Actually, it's a maintence thing. They color code their monorails so they know which ones go into the shop, which ones can run, and which ones break down on stage. It's no different then how cities number their buses by what route they are on or how planes number their flight routes before leaving the air port.

In short, it's a tracking system so they can keep the monorails running.

At last count, WDW has 14 monorails, and DLR has 4. I used to drive the DLR versions (Mark V). They are, from oldest to newest, Purple, Orange, Blue and Red.

Yep. They've got pins for each monorail at WDW for CMs as well.

I'm quite favorable of Monorail Red. :) (I was allowed in the cabin when I was younger.)

it seems like every time we go on the monorail at WDW its always the purple or blue one lol
