With all the talk about VMK values, and I agree with them, I was wondering if anyone knew what VMK's position was on the use of VMKForums?

Many of us facilitate trades using this forum and then we meet in the game to finish those trades. I have already been in a room completing a trade where either I did or the person I was trading mentioned "hey you are the guy from fan site right"? Immediately following some bystander types out "I report both of you for using fan site". Is it wrong to mention fan site within the game? I love playing this game but with the rash of people getting "reported" for what they say is nothing I am very worried that this might happen to me. So worried in fact that I tend to not talk with most anyone I do not know, and even that has gotten me the wonderful phrase from soneone "I report you, you are so mean". What is up with all this? You try to be fair and polite and you get remarks like this from someone who may or may not be really going to do the report thing but they just may and then you are out.

I have worked hard to accumulate the stuff I have and if banned all that work is lost. I know I could just make a new character but that character would have nothing.

Any thoughts?

no we are not supposed to talk about ANY website within vmk including this one. there have been people and i have seen them that start talking about another website and the automatically booted from a public room. im assuming that this means they have been banned for a period of time because mentioning of another site besides the vmk homepage. it is best that you do all talking and planning where to meet and make sure that you recieve the name of the character through here, that way on vmk you dont have to mention this site at all. vmk is very strict about these rules so i suggest that we follow them to their fullest extent. i believe that vmk is aware that this website exists but since it is not part of the walt disney internet group, they cannot give their seal of approval

it is possible that some have gotten away with saying that, but that doesnt mean that they are getting away with it. they are still breaking the rules and the staff may or may not punish them for it. but to keep on the safe side, dont mention this site or any other site at all during the game

Your question and concern are good ones. To my knowledge, you should not mention ANY other sites in VMK. Players have been banned for mentioning the Fan Forums and other sites as well.

My best advice is to remind players who do say it "Not to mention that place in VMK". That's usually what I do. If that doesn't work you can ignore or just leave. It's difficult because we do use the boards to talk about the game and complete trades, but IN the game it's all about VMK.
