I received black mickey ears as a gift last time I went to WDW. I'm going to go soon, so I was wondering, if I take the ears, and ask for a code, will they give it to me?

You only get a code for ears if you buy one, plus the codes are for gold ears. I've heard that you get black codes from creating a character in park or playing your own in park.

I have two characters that were created in the park and both got black ears. the Codes you are talking about are for the gold ears.

I received my black mickey ears when I created a VMK character at VMK Central which is located on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom. I also completed the Disney in-park quests, while I was there.

You must go to the park to get black mickey ears, unless you trade for them in the game. That is why black ears are more rare than the gold ears. You can just buy any hat (I think at the Mad Hatter's store on Main Street) and get a Gold ears code.

You GOLD Mickey Ears for VMK when you buy ANY hat at Disneyland. And you get BLACK Mickeys Ears for VMK when you create a player in Innoventions.

There, you will find a counter to turn in Quests for cards, and computer kiosks to enable you to create a character. Make sure to bring an extra e-mail address (there are many places on-line where you can create them) and get a character with Black Mickey Ears and other goodies.

Disneyland, Anaheim, CA. VMK Central is a large kiosk located outside Innoventions in Tomorrowland (much like the kiosk you stand on to go to the Tomorrowland Games in the Tomorrowland Hub). There, you may trade Quests for cards. Inside Innoventions is an area devoted to VMK with several computer kiosks available to create a character. Make sure to bring an extra e-mail address (there are many places on-line where you can create them) and get a character with Black Mickey Ears and other goodies.

To get the card with the gold ears, you need to purchase a hat. Each park has a couple stores that give out the cards (VMK Central can help you find them). Some players, by asking nicely, have received multiple cards for a single purchase, or even totally free. It all depends on the cast member behind the counter: whether they have had a good day, had a lot of whining kids begging for free cards, or their supervisor is out with them.
