Aren't these "free" deals always a hoax? I would love a free iPod, but I really wish it would be 100% safe and free.

Requires a credit card and vigilance. Sign up for trial offers that are free or require small S&H. Need to cancel before trial period ends. That is the vigilant part.

It takes some effort to keep trial expiration dates straight, but you can get some really nice items with these offers. I've gotten a DVD player from one company, it wasn't the one they said they would send, but it was something for almost nothing/little effort. I had to join a music/dvd club, and Im still keeping an eye on stuff they want to send/charge me.

I can only suggest making sure that the person who you sign up under has gotten their item and it's the correct item for that promotion. It'll save you some frustration later if the company has proven their promises.
