Middiebear 05-03-2006, 07:56 AM I dont get it.
The 2 billionth person walked through a Disney turnstile at a Disney theme park world wide...
NOTE: Don't get this confused... the 2 billionth person includes ALL 11 Disney parks world wide... Not one particular Disney park...
love me im awesome 05-03-2006, 07:57 AM Oh I get!
Thanks!
Wow thats pretty kewl.
LadyMaria 05-03-2006, 12:14 PM Wow.. did they do this for the billionth?
matterhornmaniac 05-03-2006, 05:31 PM ^no (too short)
mickeymouse2818 05-03-2006, 05:47 PM that is so cool. congrats to her!
Qui-gon 05-03-2006, 06:54 PM Woot! That's so cool! I wonder if that was her first time. (First time at the park I mean.)
figmentisback 05-03-2006, 07:24 PM Upon reading the article... They picked a random cute girl from the ticketing entrance, gave her and family tickets and staged it.. lol.. There may have been more or less then the number, but she was chosen to be the Honorary number. Notice their timing with this, we are nearing the 51st anniversary, beginning to slowly end the 50 magical years.. it was a publicity stunt really.. but the family and her are lucky.. Lifetime passes to all current and Future Disney parks!!!
Qui-gon 05-03-2006, 07:37 PM Aww, really? :( I thought it was a random person walking through the ticket entrance. Hmm...sad really.
Pinkdust 05-03-2006, 07:47 PM luckeeeeeeeeee..........
Middiebear 05-03-2006, 08:26 PM Wow.. did they do this for the billionth?
Not EXACTLY sure what Disney did for their 1,000,000,000 costumer...
BUT:
I do know that it WAS celebrated in September of 1994...
So it took Disney 12 years to reach another billion...
Anielmz 05-03-2006, 08:31 PM They are sooo lucky!
Middiebear 05-03-2006, 08:35 PM hmm.. did Disneyworld have their 2 billion
person yet? :) if not.. i am going to disneyworld
soon so I hope i get it!!
Remember... As I said in an earlier post... NOT ONE Park in the world has reached the 2,000,000,000 mark all by itself... That number includes 2 of Disneyland's parks, 4 of Walt Disney World parks, 2 of Tokyo Disneyland's parks, 2 of Disneyland Paris' parks, and Hong Kong Disneyland...
BTW: The last milestone Magic Kingdom park hit was in 1998 when they welcomed their 600 millionth guest... That was almost 10 years ago, So i'm sure the Magic Kingdom park is REALLY CLOSE to hitting 1 billion...
And I think when that happens... It will be the FIRST theme park in theme park history to welcome it's 1,000,000,000 guest...
Exciting times ahead... :)
NaviMap 05-03-2006, 08:46 PM Disney World's attendance figures will increase multiple times higher each year than any of the other Disney Resorts. (4 Theme Parks + 2 Water Parks + Dozens of Disney owned hotel/resorts + 1 Huge Shopping/Entertainment District is a much much bigger draw than the typical 2 parks + several hotel/resorts that the other Disney Theme Park resort properties have)

Yes...
But aren't these attendance figures JUST for the theme parks???
You can't really keep track of who goes to Downtown Disney, or who JUST stays in a Disney resort...

NaviMap 05-05-2006, 04:49 AM Yes...
But aren't these attendance figures JUST for the theme parks???
You can't really keep track of who goes to Downtown Disney, or who JUST stays in a Disney resort...Those attendance figures are theme park only. To clarify, My point is that all those resorts and the Downtown Disney District help in making the Walt Disney World property a huge magnet for attracting huge numbers of tourists on a worldwide scale and even staying for an extended period of time (something no other theme park resort can do to that great extent, even other Disney Theme Park resorts).
With all the additional stuff that can be done at Disney World, a 1 week visit just wouldn't do justice to experience all Disney World has to offer. You would never hear that kind of talk about vacations to other theme park resorts.
