I figured since many players don't know about what the big microscope means in Tomorrowland in the VMK, so I found some pics and have them with me. The microscope is from a ride back in the old days of Tomorrowland, named "Adventure Thru Innfer-Space. Here are a few-

Awesome schmoofy! I remember that ride... it was styrofoam-riffic! Classic stale cheese, kinda like Mr. Toad. It's too bad they closed it. :(

A good site for info on this ride is www.atommobiles.com .

But it gave Disneyland Star Tours.. and it's not like they wanted to keep a ride that was not as popular, even thought it was the original omni mover attraction which predates HM and all the others, around anymore...

This attraction is remembered through a hidden microscope in the Star tours ride film (as seem at all the Star tours i believe) you see it when you turn left in the maintain building (I think)....

That ride terrified me as a kid. It took me a couple of times to get used to it. I have vague memories but think there was like a heartbeat type sound and the music and stuff built as you dared go deeper into the atom and then chaos when the snowflake melted (that is seen in the Ray Room). Then you are saved and returned to normal and the lobby. It was just like the Mansions old track in that you sat in buckets with the front closing to keep you inside. The sets were like the It's a Small World sets in that they were cheaply made and there was not much detail to them. the snowflakes were like styrofoam but were pretty to look at. It is amazing how much I remember but I did love that ride and wish it were back.

Guests were known for being bad on that ride. Disney had to add cameras because of guest reaching around and scaring other guests by pounding on their car. There was also the not kid friendly stuff.
Links to other sites that deal with this ride then there will be mentioned somewhere stuff that is implied or actually not g-rated.

And then of course, these's the theme song: Miracles From Molecules! Yet another Sheman Bros. masterpiece that entraced the minds of riders and had them singing it in their showers, cars, and local supermarkets. It was also catchey enough that Disney has used instrumental versions of it in a few different places. For example, the Tommorowland music loop for WDW.

Miracles from molecules around us everywhere
There are miracles from molecules in the earth, the sea, the air
Now men with dreams are furthering what nature first began
Making modern miracles from molecules for man

Every atom is a world, an infinity unfurled
A world of inner space without an end
A world of mystery, of endless energy
With treasures more than man can ever spend

Miracles from molecules are dawning every day
Discoveries for happiness in a fabulous array
A never ending search is on by men who dare and plan
Making modern miracles from molecules for man
Making modern miracles from molecules...foooorrr mmmaaaaaaaaaaaannn!!!

uh, well I can see where the main title is a little cheasy, lol, especially as the inner workings of subatomic particles are becoming the miraculous items.

You forget or do not know what it was like 5 August 1967 when the ride opened. There was no Blackberries, small PCs, internet, cell phones, or lots of other stuff. Now you go in for surgery and they use tiny slits with little cameras and lasers for example. Molecular science was still new to people and was amazing and wonderful new stuff back then.

In the past 38 years genetics, farming, health, medicine, welfare, sports, warfare, peace, communications, criminology, hair care, television and so much more have change because of the knowledge of inner space. I do not know if the religious term "miracle" is appropriate but in the secular form it means something beyond belief like being able to grow bug resistant food, tracking family related diseases, making medicines, curing people, proving criminal cases, and making life in general a better place to be.

At the time the term Miracles in Molecules was appropriate and not cheesy at all.
