A few reliable sources recieved from many statements from CM's (We're talking about 20 different CM's) have told people that Body Wars has been completely removed and WOL will never re-open. A new attraction is planned for 2007/08 which UoE will be removed to make room for it.

This is horrible. WDW needed that, with all the health problems america faces. Heck, when I was 5, I pointed out the big DNA scupture out front. This attraction was one that made you learn alot while still having fun. UoE was also great, Ellen did a great job with Bill Nye..

Sad to see these go, but I'm sure we'll be getting something very large in it's place.

You were amazed by UoE, I fell asleep during it. Glad to see it's going, though it's sorry to say. WOL was never to open again, that place has been dormant for a long time now. HOPEFULLY this will be another thrill ride, which is what Disney needs.

Hasn't WoL been closed down for a while now?

I <333 the Universe of Energy!! Very sad to see that one go...But I don't think that's happening immediately. Hope not, at least. Bill Nye the Science Guy, Ellen de Generes (sp?), Alex Trebeck, Albert Einstien ;)...what a cast :)

Yes, it was, but it was planned to be open seasonally. It was planned to be open for easter, but never opened, further confirming our darkest fears.

WOL has not been open since last year.. (early last year if i remember right)... it has been used for private functions like cheerleaders, and CMs taking a break... but not open to the general public...

UOE on the other hand is an moderately old attraction which is showing it's age (those vehicles are as old as epcot even though the ride was re-themed back in 97?) I was hoping they would breath new life into this attraction since it teaches us about energy.. and could be updated to show us how to conserve better and such.... imagine the tax deductions disney could get from that.... and WOL could be replaced with a newer life pavilion... imagine the tax deductions then.... lol

And with that, Epcot dies...

I have to agree, most of the original Future World is gone. The only real surviving member of the original set of rides is Spaceship Earth and even that has undergone changes over the years (but it basically retains it's original theme). Even Universe of Energy has been updated and changed throughout the years. Oh well, all in the name of progress. :) But Disney never should have gotten rid of Horizons...That was an excellent dark ride!

I hope they continue the theme of educating park guests in a fun experience. I hope they put something definitely about energy and how we can use much less fossil fuels or increase energy efficiency (especially with us being at the whims of fluctuating & unpredictable global oil prices).

With Ellen in there, I didn't seem to get the feeling of taking energy seriously, lol

As much as I understand the need for Disney to change Epcot in order to appeal the thrill seekers with attractions such as Mission Space and Test Track, it's sad that pretty much all of the original attractions are gone:

World Of Motion = Test Track

I never really liked Test Track much and I never really thought it fit in well with the idea of Epcot. Why am I going to wait 30 minutes - 1 hour for something that I do in my car everyday.

Horizons = Mission Space

Mission Space was amazing the first time I rode it and that was about it. I love thrill rides as much as the next person but for some reason has no re-rideability to it. (also the fact that Gary Sinese is clearly reading off a cue cards peeves me for some reason.)

Wonders of Life=?

Who knows what will go here, but probably it will be another attraction that ties into a pixar film. :rolleyes:

UOE=?

I think the thing that really killed this ride was the fact that Disney felt they had to put Ellen Degeneres and Bill Nye in it which dated it so it was stuck in 1996.

Living Seas=Redone to Nemo

I love Finding Nemo, but something doesn't sit right with theming the Living Seas to it.

Journey Into Imagination = Bad

The original attraction was so amazing and the version we have now is just an insult to the original. I can't believe that people thought that just sticking a couple of figment animatronics here and there was going to make it any better.

Also, Innoventions has technology that was amazing...5 years ago. They either need to update it with new stuff or consider doing something else with it.

I concur. Finding Nemo and Stitch were way too overhyped and didn't deserve to be whole attractions. I want the old LS back.

Omg :( That means Test Track is closing?! This is horrible! Me & My dad rode that at least 3 times every time we were there! And Journey into imagination.. My parents loved that ride. If they take that out too, I'll be mad at Disney for a while.

We knew this was going to happen, why are we surprised? I am sad about this, I will miss WoL.

To person above: Test Track is not closing. The person you quoted was showing how old rides got replaced with new.

HOPEFULLY this will be another thrill ride, which is what Disney needs.

bad news: I've heard that Disney feels that EE should be their last thrill ride, after feeling that they have given too much to older kids and now need to go back to their roots and give more attractions to younger kids. So don't expect a thrill ride from this one.

Yeah, I fell asleep during the "Ellen vs. the dinosaurs" ride, too. I hope they bring back (maybe an updated version of) Adventure through Inner Space. It was a nice surprise to see it in VMK, and it would fit in perfectly at Epcot.

well, I wouldn't be surprised if Ellen is replaced by something else on that theme, that isn't thrilling but another educational ride, just using updated facts as Quantum Physics is expanding.
