I am an annual passholder for the Disneyland Resort in California.
I just got back talking to a couple of my cast member friends and they said the 50th anniversry WILL come to a close on OCTOBER 3, 2006. This is the end of an era for Disney. (Until the 100th anniversary...lol! Well ill be there! How about u guys?)

According to what I know, there will be a CLOSING CEREMONY on that day! Yes, the park will be crowded...crowded...and yes, crowded on that day but I think it is a journey ALL TRUE Disney fans should do. Anyway, The reason im focusing this letter to Annual Passholders, is that.....

ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS WILL BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE CLOSING CEREMONY TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!BEFORE IT IS RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC!!!!!!!

WhooHoo! Yes, u need a ticket to go to the closing ceremony but u can still go to Disneyland after and before it. Ppl with tickets to the ceremony will be able to stay in the park and watch it. Others will have to leave. Im not sure when the tickets will be sold but its going to be soon! Check disneyland.com for the latest news. Thats all I know for the moment but will update this thread as more info comes in. Look below for the more info:)

Yes, I have more info concerning the event itself. In the morning, like always, will have the daily opening cermony speech by Walt himself on that magical day in 1955, but there will be a twist...(keeping it a secret for now:)) Everything will be the same until night drops in the kingdom. As always, there will be the "Parade of Dreams" X2 and the "Remember, Dreams Come True" Fireworks Spectacular, both of these will happen for the last time. After the fireworks, all guests (even passholders) will be instructed to leave. Ppl with the CLOSING CEREMONY TICKETS will be able to return to the park for a special closing treat. Can't get into details...:), but i guarantee that this event will never be forgotten, EVER!!!! So be there or miss out! That's all I have to say! But even if u can't go, its ok. I will be there for the event for sure no matter what and I'll video record every single moment during it. Ill try my best to post the link to the video here or on my favorite DLR fan/info site, visionsfantastic.com. So thats all for now again. Will post anything new right here so stay tunned and check in later:)

Nicee well i'm not a pass holder but i'm going to try everything in my power to make it to DLR :) I was at WDW for 50th and want to be at DLr for it too so y any better time than to not go for the end of 50th and for a ceremony on it nonetheless

Yes, I always thought that the rumor about the Happiest Celebration On Earth coming to a close around that September/October time frame was true. Thank you very much for verifying this. :)

Aww, I thought that Cinderella Castle was a lot more fun to look at with all the gold. It's a shame it's gotta go down.

I am also a annual passholder at Disenyland. But I won't be able to go. I am also planning on going to the 100th year celebration.

oh wow awezum! i am an annual pass holder and i went the day of the anniversery and woooow you talk about crowded? man it was packed.too bad it has to close the 50th in october :( i am gonna drive my mom crazy to get tickets to the closing LOL :))

What about the 75 anniversry? LOL! Disney will be around forever!

Closing Ceremony.. I had not heard about a closing ceremony.. I thought it was ending in September since their Fiscal year starts October 1....

Are you sure this is not a CM only event? or a CM & Media only event?? I have not heard about this yet on any other forum... you might be right though.

No im sure this is not just a CM event. If it was, i would have been mad and wrong, but this info is straight from my most trustworthy friends that are CM:)
